I was cold-called, even though i am on the do-not-call list. After numerous calls from the same number, I answered, if only to get rid of the call. after speaking with the service representative, I was convinced to have my chimney and furnace flue cleaned for the great price of $55, and was promised no additional sales pitches would be forthcoming. Alas, when contacted to confirm the appointment, it was now $60 and they will only clean EITHER the chimney flue OR the furnace flue for such a low price. So, I cancelled rather than go through the hassle and cost of the upcharges that were surely coming. BEWARE of ALL STAR CHIMNEY - Stick with your local chimney cleaner and give them your business. I was called by this company stating they had a chimney cleaning promotion going on for $60 per flue. I have 2 flues. 1 for the oil, 1 for the fireplace. There were two technicians, one that cleans and one that did the inspection . Short version is that I wasted $120. They never clean all the ash in the basement where it collects!!! The inspection guy basically said several thing were wrong yet I called the chimney company I previously used and they said nothing was wrong. I also had a fire fighter who does chimney work check it out and he didn't see any issues. read more

Super sketchy. I received a call from what turns out to be a spoofed number. Somewhat worryingly in retrospect, they appear to have some details about an appointment I already have scheduled with my regular chimney sweep and claim to want to reschedule. I ask them to confirm they are calling from the company I already had an appointment with and they said "yes," - a fraudulent representation of their identity. Suspicious, I subsequently called my regular chimney company, who confirms that they know nothing about this. Unable to call back (because of the spoofed number) I had to wait until they called on the day of the "rescheduled" appointment, at which point I learned of who they were and told them to remove my details from their list. read more

I just received an unsolicited call from All Star. I usually never answer these calls, but I decided to have some fun. When the male caller answered, he said "All Star Chimneys, is this James (my husband's name)". I said, "Do I sound like a James"? He hung up. Never ever have a chimney company do any work unless you get your own recommendations and check it out with your local county consumer agency. My cousin's son went to jail for chimney scams. Two men, driving an All Star truck, showed up at my brother's house in the Boston area to do a $50 inspection. My brother is elderly and lives alone. Woman called my cell number on the DNC list. My caller ID said 631 844-6018. Before expressing if interested in chimney, work I obtained this company's name and address from her. I then informed the caller that I was on the DNC list and she was breaking the law. She claimed she was doing her job. I then asked to speak to her supervisor. She disconnected me. I called back the number above and got a "not in service" message. I was able to find this site through an internet search. Their business address matches the one I was given over the phone. This is a scam company! Legitimate companies don't violate the DNC list and they most certainly would not spoof their number because doing so could deprive them of future business. So I get a call from a man named Anderson states he can clean my chimney for $49.99. thought it was a great deal so we made an appointment. Knowing my sister wanted hers done too I gave them her number and asked if there was a discount if you used them. Anderson said oh yes 1/2 price. ok great! So he also called my sister and made an appointment for the next day. Lisa then called my sister to confirm the price of 79.99! WTF?? She argued with my sister saying the guy Anderson was going to be fired for the work price quote. Does she want them to come for $79.99. my sister said no way. We just got a call from List confirming our appointment for tomorrow. And guess what $79.99! When my husband told her that's against the law what they are doing, she hung up on him!! He called the number back and the lady who answered said he hung up on Lisa!! Well then she said Anderson I'd going to get fired for this. Apparently not!! Big scammers and very rude!! They have a very misleading cold call in which they state that their giving a special deal because they're already "in our area" we receive these calls every few months. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY.I have been dealing with them for two years trying to get my money back and have not got one cent. Like everyone else I received a phone call to clean my burner for 60.00, which I agreed to do. When they came the man came in and told me that he had bad news,that my chimney was about to collapse. I don't know anything about this kind of thing. I am a seventy year old widow and I panicked and told him to fix it.I had to borrow this money .to have this done. The very next day they came back and they were on the roof for about fifteen minutes. They charged me 2000.00 About two weeks later something just didn't feel right,so I decided to call another company to come and check the work. At this time I was told that all they did was chip of some cement around the bricks and all the cement fell to the bottom. I called the company and did not receive a call back,so I filed a claim against them. As it got close to the court date the owner Mr.Estevev called me and convinced me to drop the case, and he would come and fix the problem. He then sent another tech who came and put a liner in the chimney. At this point i forgot about the money I just wanted this behind me,which I thought it was until months later when my burner stopped working. I now had a technician come out and my burner and chimney were all backed up with soot,They had to take my whole burner apart and it needed all kinds of parts. It was going to be very expensive and my burner was old so I decided to replace it. Now Mr Estevev sends his tech and he pulled out the liner saying it was the wrong size and that is why it backed up.This was not true,the chimney that i have doesn't require a liner at all. Mean while I sit about ten feet from the fireplace, breathing all the fumes in.At this point Mr Estevev agreed ro send me the rwo thousand dollars,but i didn't trust him because he said he already sent me the money when it first happened, which he never did, so I continued with my court case. Well this is months later. I have been to court four times,which he never showed up. which is four days that I had to take off from work, I now won the case against him,but because I am from Mass.and he is from New York he didn't have to show.nor does he have to pay unless I go to New York court. SCAM, BUYER BEWARE!! I received a phone call from ALL STAR CHIMNEY. The company was promoting a special deal to clean the chimney and furnace flu for 49.00. I spoke with Arlene, who was very thorough and professional. I explained to Arlene that we had a second fireplace that is used frequently and would like to have that cleaned as well. No problem, she explained and the cost to do both would be 99.00. Well, things changed the minute they walked thru the door. An employee of All Star named Frank, not a friendly young man asked to see the fireplaces. I showed him the two fireplaces, he said," I'll only do one fireplace", I said that I had mentioned to Arlene that I wanted both to be cleaned. Frank then asked to see the furnace flu. I took Frank to the basement, he never looked at the flu but stated immediately, "I won't touch that flu" without even knowing where it was. I understand we have an old furnace and he may have had concerns. Although I have lived in this home for thirty years and have had countless chimney cleanings, I have never encountered any company that refused to clean our chimney. I told Frank I still would like to have the chimneys cleaned (since I went to all the trouble to move furniture). Frank said," I will do one sweep for each chimney for 200.00". I said Arlene told me the charge would be 99.00 for both. He said he won't do it for that. That's when I said it's time to say goodbye. Frank is a hot head!!! He stormed out of my home very quickly, I asked what is his name, without stopping our turning around I think he said Frank. Then he stomped off and said something rude to the Verizon man in the driveway. This entire encounter was less than six minutes. Frank is not a professional and does not like his job. After this experience I would be reluctant to let any ALL STAR CHIMNEY employee in my home. Owner/manager doesn't seem to care, never called. I like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt because I am a business owner times 3. I know how difficult it is to run them. Having said this. All star chimney needs to be avoided at all costs. If you get a flyer in the mail, throw it out. If you get a cold call, hang up. If you get a smoke signal from your own malfunctioning chimney, turn your back and let it dissipate. These people will lie at least twice when you complain because their game is to get a flew pipe down your chimney whether it's needed or not. And by the way 95% of the time its not. Their ploy is to get a minimum of 2800 dollars out of you. It's for a pipe that does not fit and causes smoke to back up into your house so you have to take out flaming logs from your living room. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. We just had their work fixed to the tune of 2000 for work that was misdiagnosed and improperly installed. DO NOT HIRE THESE PHONIES. 9/28/2018 Don't do business with this company! Everything you will read in other reviews is true. Very Scary! I responded to a cold call to have All Star Chimney Solutions inspect my chimney. Two came out said I needed a new lining, offered stainless steel, I wrote them (YES!! Unfortunately!!) $400 check for $2,100 they quoted (9/15/2018) for them to come back out (9/20/18) to do the work. Scheduled 11-2pm they came at 3:30m, went up on my roof, then down in my basement for all of a 45 minute service call (not counting the time taken to order a pizza & eat it in their truck!!). Told me removing the old aluminum lining would damage the chinmey i.e. make it crumble & job was more complicated so cost would be $10,000. I was overwrought so told me they'd call office to get a discount. Called & told me they'd been authorized to give me a discount so charge would be $5,500. They post haste connected me with office manager who walked me through the paces of contacting their finance company (Synchrony Financial) who were given the ok but wouldn't be available for 7-10 days. So Cathy (Office Mgr.) told me I'd have to wait to have the work done. WONDERFUL!!! I had another reputable company come out next day (9/21/2018) who told me in detail that it was all nonsense. My chimney lining is fine & does NOT need replacing at all. I called & canceled All Star service, Informed Synchrony Financial I won't need the financing. Put a freeze on my credit at reporting agencies ...just in case. I believe that All Star tried to SCAM me!! Left my basement wall banged out so I'll need to have it re-cemented. Heaven knows what they did on my roof but I have the other company coming out to repair any possible damage up top!!! They put me through a very stressful, scary experience. It may NOT be over yet because Cathy called me today (5 days after their scheduled return for the supposed service) to argue that I owe them money for any "work" guys did while here!!! If you have no regard for life (yours and your family's) and want to be ripped off by a Chimney company then All Star Chimney Solutions ("All Star") is the one to hire. Steer clear of this company. I made an appointment with All Star on Nov 23rd to clean my fireplace and the furnace and to check the Cap on the chimney. The repairman - Chris told me the cost to replace the Cap was $350 and I told him not to proceed. He inspected the Furnace and told me the clay tiles that lined the Furnace were disintegrating and that as a result carbon monoxide and smoke could be coming back into my house through the walls and the chimney could collapse and we could also have a fire. Dire Consequences!! He stated that he was not an "asshole" so he was not going to call the Fire Department as would shut down my boiler and hot water heater. I responded that I needed a second opinion. He insisted that I fix it immediately as it was in dire condition. The cost to remediate was "only" $3,500. My husband who told him via phone that he had no authority or right to threaten to shut down our equipment and that he needed to finish the job and leave the property. Chris stayed for almost an hour after my husband spoke to him. He got paid for cleaning the fireplace and furnace and even got a tip. Approx 9:30 PM we realized Chris had turned the boiler off. I found out the heater was off on thanksgiving morning. I erroneously assumed Chris had simply forgotten. After the boiler was turned on the smoke /carbon monoxide detector started beeping and the basement started to smell of smoke. I called a technician from the Oil Company in panic as I had no idea what was going on. Upon further investigation we noticed that Chris had not replaced the Exhaust pipes but had instead hidden them at the back of the boiler on the floor. Chris' actions created a hazardous situation which put our lives in jeopardy - thankfully the detectors saved our lives. I text Chris at 10:35 PM stating "Chris sorry to text you so late but I am the resident at _which you serviced today. We had no heat for a few hours and realized you had turned off the boiler. Now its on and it smells like smoke downstairs and the fire alarm is going off - this has never happened before." I texted pics of the scene to Chris and further stated "This is how you left the jobs site - you left metal tubes on the floor and didn't put them back." As of today's date (12/1), Chris has yet to acknowledge my text. Note the sincere tone in my text apologizing for texting him late - not realizing his actions were intentional. I called All Star on Monday 11/28 and spoke to Ahmed, a manager and explained what happened. He did some "research" and called me back saying my husband told Chris to leave the property and that when customers tell them to leave they leave immediately - note Chris stayed for almost an hour after he spoke to my husband and even vacuumed the fireplace... Sounds to me like All Star is kicked off premises quite a lot based on what Ahmed said.. Ask yourself why?? My husband was rightfully appalled by the sales pressure and the misrepresentations Chris made. BUT..why would my husband leave us without heat and hot water? Jeopardize our lives - Knowing that I would not have a clue how to remediate the situation? If Chris was following my husband's orders why did he not acknowledge my text when I reached out to him that night? Would I have knowingly paid Chris and given him a tip had I known the level of deceit and mal intent? I spoke to my Village's Fire Department and the fireman laughed when I told them what Chris said about shutting down my system. The response was "if your boiler is not malfunctioning then we have no issues". The Fireman stated the Technician was irresponsible to leave things the way he did and that he could only surmise that Chris' intent was to create a hazardous situation which would necessitate us calling the Fire Dept resulting in them shutting down the system if high levels of carbon monoxide was detected. BINGO!!! Chris and All Star are not only liars but they will overcharge you ... Note the quote for $3,500 to line the furnace compared to subsequent quotes from several reputable companies for less than 1/3 of the price they quoted me. Again, they tried to create fear, hysteria, angst and paranoia in the hopes that I would pay thousands of dollars for repair work that cost significantly less. Chris made an incorrect assumption that I was a single woman whom he could take advantage of. Chris as an employee of All Star and All Star were willfully negligent in leaving the exhaust pipes off which could have resulted in illness, casualties and loss of life. I spoke to Cathy, another Manager, on 11/29 and she minimized my feedback and the genuine fear we experienced by stating that it wasn't so serious. All Star has refused to reimburse the monies I paid them when they knowingly jeopardized my life. read more

The technicians at Allstar were very knowledgeable and took the time to explain and show everything to me before any work was done. I ended up saving over $1,000 using Allstar, I would definitely recommend them! read more

The company had called me a couple times before I finally agreed to have the service done. They claimed they were running a special until November 1st, and I was going to call someone to clean my chimney anyway. They said the going rate was normally $160, but the special was $45. I know that is just to get them in the door, then the company's(all of them) try to upsell you as the service is being done. Well the technician(believe his name was Eddie)came and was very polite and knowledgeable. He explained to me everything that him and his helper were going to do and even let me watch them. I'm usually a person who does all the work himself, but $45 is cheaper than buying the brushes myself. Anyway, after he was done, he didn't try to up sell me anything, except showed me an area of "concern" and said you have time, but should be done soon. He charged me $45 as agreed over the phone. The technician didn't leave a mess and cleaned the area in my oil burner room where they had worked. I will definitely use this company again, so long as they send the same technician. read more
