I've had the pleasure to ride with the same All Star Cab driver Ari half a dozen times in the last two months (Dec 2023-Jan 2024). I have nothing but great things to say about the service. There is only one flight in and out from Detroit to Binghamton (BGM) and that is at 11PM and 5 AM respectively. Needless to say with the rental car agency closed during arrival, reliable cab service is crucial so you are not stranded. The first time I flew into BGM, I called a day ahead to reserve a cab. They assured me it was no problem to have a car waiting at 11 PM. Not only was my driver early and waiting, he patiently waited an extra 20 minutes for me to retrieve my checked bag. I am so grateful for Ari because he personally made sure he was the one to pick me up to go to the airport at 4 AM in the morning! Service is prompt, affordable, and 100% recommended. Tip, you need to request or add a tip because Ari is too nice to mention it! read more

Ari is good to his passengers but those that work for him are not the same. Horrible driving skills and rude and arrogant to their riders. On a recent trip from downtown to BU, a driver was arguing with all the riders and kicked a ride out in 0 degree weather after the rider refused to be ripped off by him . He was trying to charge 38 dollars for an 8 minute ride from BU to downtown read more

I called and they answered then told me that they'd be there in 20 mins. 45 mins later, I called back and they send a text asking what I needed. I replied and they gave no response. I would not recommend this to anyone. read more

I called 5 days prior to the day I needed the cab and was told it was a flat rate of $15 to the Greater Binghamton Bus Terminal. I was actually charged $33 coming from Glendale. This company (or at least the uncle) is not honest, I will not be using their service again. If you are willing to be overcharged and this was the only taxi company available, you can rest knowing he was on time and courteous. However, I don't think that was worth 2 times the fare as there are plenty of courteous and punctual taxi drivers in the area. read more

I called two hours ahead of time and ordered a car to bring me to the bus station as there was only one bus that day going home. They told me the taxi would even be a few minutes early. The agent seemed very sure of himself. Come the time that the driver was supposed to pick me up, he was not there. I had to call the number several times until someone picked up. Finally, someone did and gave me the number of my driver. I called him and he said he was going to be much later than expected. I called the car company to say that I would now be late for my bus and that I would be stranded in Binghamton as there were no more buses that day. The agent said, "I'll see what I can do." He never called me back, despite me calling several times. The driver called me to back to say, "You all good?" I said, "No I'm not. I missed my bus." He said, "Oh sorry," and hung up. I will never use this service again and if you want to get anywhere on time, I suggest you don't either. read more

This cab company is the worst that I have ever seen. The drivers are routinely distracted and one idiot driver actually hit my girlfriend's car after he was texting while driving and tried to say it was our fault and got in our face. I…read morehad a ride scheduled to a doctor's appointment and not only did the driver show up 30 minutes late, he overshot my driveway and tore up my lawn. There was no apology at all for picking me up late or making me late for my appointment. The return trip was worse. I called dispatch to notify them that I was ready to be picked up, and they told me it would be 20-25 minutes. An hour later, my ride still hadn't shown up so I called dispatch again. The operator didn't even say hello and impatiently barked that my driver was almost there, as if I was inconveniencing them. Sorry, I thought the entire point of a transportation service was to provide transportation? I don't know what dispatch's definition of "almost there" is, but another 15 minutes went by before the driver finally showed up. The driver had the nerve to ask me if I'd been waiting long, and then condescendingly asked me if I was mad at him in a tone like I was a child. Then the driver proceeded to try to blame me for him being late, claiming I didn't say when I'd be done with my appointment. I did, in fact, tell the driver on the way to my appointment that I would be in my appointment about an hour an a half, and the driver was still 40 minutes late picking me up. Then the driver lectured me about how it takes a while to get from where he was to where I was. Yeah, I know how long it takes because I've lived in the area for over 30 years. It doesn't take 40 minutes. There was an additional passenger in the seat up front on the way home. The notice on the window states that I have a right to transportation without additional passengers, so they don't even follow their own rules. The driver then proceeded to drive well over the speed limit because he was late, blared music loud enough that I couldn't even hear my own music in my earbuds, talked on his cell phone while he was driving (not hands-free), and then forced me sign some kind of paper when I arrived at my house. I asked what exactly it was that I was signing, and the driver flippantly told me it was to show he'd completed the ride. I've never had to sign any papers with any other transportation service. But, with how shoddy their service is, I can see why they make their drivers prove they're actually doing their jobs. I feel like I have realistic expectations for a transportation service: competent driving, professionalism, and punctuality. I think that's a pretty low bar to set, and yet, this company fails spectacularly. Don't ever use their service.

Glamping is an elevated camping experience - think glamorous camping. I was intrigued to say the least and decided to head on out to Firelight Camps in Ithaca, NY to try it out. I actually did sleep in a tent as you can see. Although it was the inside of the tent that elevated my experience. While it was a real tent I had a wooden floor and a real bed! The bed was so comfortable too. I didn't want to get up in the morning. I loved hearing the sounds of nature outside. There was no electricity, but there were lanterns you could use in the tent. The lanterns even had a USB plug in to charge your phone. The campgrounds were beautiful! There was a fire pit and larger tent to eat meals in. They also had bathrooms to shower in. They weren't in the tents, but just a short walk from them. We had a fabulous time chatting and just hanging out in the common area. Of course what camping experience is complete with out s'mores? When the fire pit was lit the s'mores came out. These were an elevated experience as well. They were the most delicious s'mores I've ever tasted - homemade marshmallows and graham crackers!

They even showed me pictures of the work in progress of building the new sites.
