Zero Stars for this company it is the most horrible transportation service ive ever encountered, i havent ever been able to contact them. They take advantage of the Medicaid rides alone, if your crippled or handicapped these are your guys they will be late and make sure you're there at least 5 minutes after your appointment but other than that they don't even answer the phone, worst company ever, dont even bother trying them they dont answer the phone, Uber and Lyft offer the same ride for half the price. read more

I took a yellow cab from the greyhound station to Court St near the Beer Depot, I had with me a suitcase and 2 boxes. When we arrived at my destination, which is under 1 mile away, the driver informed me the fare was 29.00. She informed me that "technically this is a moving job" I let her know in no uncertain terms that I wasn't paying her 29.00 and that instead we will sit and wait for the police. she of course folded like a cheap accordion. Moral of this review: they are crooks that are well aware they are crooks, otherwise she would have waited around for the police. read more

In line with the other reviews, if I could give a negative review I would. I called for a cab on a sat afternoon and they said they would call me back within 30 minutes. After 45 minutes, I called the company back and was placed on hold for almost 10 minutes. The rude operator told me that the cab did call me when I received no call not even a message. I was told at that moment to go outside because the cab was coming in 3 minutes. When I got into Bartle parking lot in the freezing cold, the cab was nowhere to be found. I waited 10 minutes in subzero temperatures until I went back indoors and called again. Once again I was placed on hold for 10 minutes, told again that my cab was outside waiting for me. I was fooled again into going outside for another 5 minutes until I called it quits. After 50 minutes, I ended up talking the campus blue bus to walmart and then walking to the Ford dealership on vestal pkwy. All of this took a total of 1.5 hours. If i had just walked down vestal pkwy by foot, I would have got there saving me all this stress. Do not use this taxi service. They are unscrupulous, treat you like scum, and pretend that your time is absolutely worthless. read more

I had called Yellow Cab the evening before to arrange a pickup in the morning, they never showed up. Four hours later they responded to back to me saying that they were on the way to pick me up. By then, I had already called another taxi service to pick me up. When I told them about these news, I was then cussed out and hung up on. They have a reputation in the area as being unreliable and for good reason. There are other taxi services that are cheaper and much more reliable than Yellow Cab. I recommend to stay as far away as possible from this company. read more

Four stars for general reliability and modest help from the drivers. When possible, good to give your driver an extra dollar, two, or three, tip. Try to remember what they put up with, including the weather. Conclusively, give them another try because they've made some marked improvements over the years. read more

Update to my original review! (Original can be found under this and still applies) I was told Yellow Cab was under new management, so I gave them another shot. Had one ride that went well for the most part (showed up within an hour, relatively fair price, etc. Driver was a bit off-kilter, but whatever...), so I called them a second time. Aaannnddd the second time was right back to the same old nonsense! Called them from work at 10:30 looking for a ride home. Waited two hours right by the door with my phone out, watching for a cab or at least waiting for the call from them. Finally called back because I was getting frustrated and was told that they supposedly already picked me up. Uh, nope! Still sitting at the exact same place, waiting patiently. Dispatcher seemed confused and a bit angry and seemed to blame me for my cab not coming (because evidently it was my fault somehow), which I didn't appreciate. Told them not to bother sending a cab. Ended up paying a co-worker gas money to run me home an hour later when they got off. So I didn't get home until about 2am. Never using them again. They got a second chance and they blew it. read more

Great operators !!! Sike. I called at 4:04am today, first thing i ask is how long on a wait for a cab. I get told 10-15 mins , so I say ok perfect and request one. 25 mins passes, so i call back and he answers the phone amd sighs saying "a few more minutes" Now here it is 4:53 and nobody comes, try calling back and they wanna screen the calls and not answer. One time they showed up so late that I was almost an hour late to work and this is when I called the night before and told them what time I needed the car at my house! Another time they showed up over an hour late. In this hour of waiting I called them 4 or 5 times. Every single time I got "They will be there soon" and they hung up. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! If I could give this place a negative rating I totally would. We called for a cab after some late night shopping and it was freezing outside. Not only did they NOT show up after an hour, but when we called to find out what was wrong - the dispatcher was extremely RUDE and unprofessional. Trying to claim that we weren't outside when his cab came (we were outside in the cold the whole time - no cab) not only that, after screaming at us, he then hung up. I can't believe these people are still in business with that sort of service and unprofessional behavior. I took a taxi to and from a doctors appointment. The fare was $13 each way, which I think was reasonable. I was quoted 20 minutes to the appointment, 10 minutes from the appointment. Both time quotes were very accurate. Both drivers were polite and friendly. The reason I took away a star is because of my second time speaking with the dispatcher. The First Lady answered right away and was very professional and sweet. The second time I called twice with no response. I understand completely, it was lunchtime and they were probably busy and whatnot. That being said, I waited a few minutes and they called me back. Great! Except the man I spoke with thought I was someone else. Again, that's fine- busy and whatnot. What wasn't very pleasant was when I told him I did, however call to try and get a taxi, and he became irritated sounding, acting as if I was bothering him. I didn't appreciate having to share the cab, especially if the cost wasn't reduced and I was charged so much! It was double what I was told! Ripoffs and scammers! I tried contacting the company, said they gave my number to the owner which never called! After multiple times of trying to call, the closest I got was someone standing next to the owner! Worst taxi experience ever. I called for a taxi and waited for 20 mins, I called again and they said they didn't know where I was. They didn't even try to clarify with me in the first phone call. After I made clear to them where I was in the second call, they called me saying the taxi was here. Since it was my first time here, I didn't know where the cab was. The driver just hung up on me and I tried calling again and he hung up on me several times. Taxi came 3 hours late after we had to call at least 5 times. Guy finally shows up, starts dozing off and is driving all over the road. Then he actually falls asleep and goes in the other lane with oncoming traffic. I yelled at him to pull over, he says he is fine. I had to insist that he stop. After a difficult ordeal with lost luggage and a lethargic response from the airline we flew, we called Yellow Cab, who was supposed to have our luggage...according to the airline. Yellow cab had not yet received it, but took down my name, sent a driver to the baggage claim on my behalf, and called me with periodic updates. After 5 hours on the phone trying to get the airline, Yellow Cab's work on our behalf was so encouraging. They tracked down our luggage for us and They even offered to deliver it right away late at night and in severe weather conditions. Their delivery was prompt and they did notify me before arriving. I appreciated the personal care they took for us and highly recommend them to others. read more

Can we give this company lower than a one? Don't use them. A 20 minute wait is over an hour and a half on a regular basis. Double charge for stops, instead of cab "wait" time. The dispatchers do not coordinate same area calls, so you may see four cabs that are not yours pass you before finally getting one. Extremely rude on the telephone. Terrible...simply terrible. The dispatcher is a rude s.o.b. who regularly berates his drivers. When I call, I am immediately put on hold! Sometimes I'm on for a few minutes, sometimes more. The cabs never show up at the promised time, and when they are late, there are no explanations or apologies offered. The drivers look rough, and the cabs smell of cigarette smoke. Horrible cab service. I called them around 4:45... I guess they have a new person answering the phone at base.... she's a true dud. She didn't even ask for a number to call before hanging up. I called back 4 times to give her a number since I was calling a cab for someone else but... no answer. So I gave up and called another cab service. Fast forward to 5:45ish I get a call from them. I guess they finally decided to arrive at my destination. But I had already gotten a ride in the other cab service I called. Anyways, I intended to answer the phone to tell them I no longer needed them but nobody answered back when I said 'hello'. So I hung up and called back. I figured they didn't answer because the driver had left and me calling would make no difference or something. Still.... Nobody answered. Now they call me back few moments later but my phone was in my bag and I didn't know. So.... when I looked at my phone later on I saw they left a voicemail. In the voicemail.. the idiot lady at base and the actual idiot driver who I'm assuming was on route were heard on the phone callin me a late motherf*cker who doesn't deserve a call back or ride. She said "she's not calling me anymore since 'motherf*ckers wann be late". So to the 2 idiots who left me that nice voicemail... you're as dumb as they come and should learn to hang up the phone before talking smack. In conclusion, DON'T USE YCB!!!! read more
