I moved here from San Diego a few years ago and went through multiple barbershops, all of which…read morewere absolutely terrible--bad cuts, no attention to detail, and just an overall miserable experience. Then, not even intentionally, I stumbled across Brentwood, and I've been going there ever since--two years strong. These guys are on another level. They actually care about what they're doing, and it shows. I always book with Calvin because he's an absolute perfectionist. He takes his time, makes sure every cut is on point, and never rushes through it like so many other barbers do. The guy knows exactly what he's doing, and I walk out looking on point every single time. On top of that, the whole shop has a great vibe--the staff is outgoing, friendly, and treats you like you're part of the family. There's no way I'm ever going anywhere else.

Tired of paying up $30 for a pretty basic cut, I ventured out from my barbershop of 30 years to…read morefind the Holy Grail of shops. I may have found it... One of SGF's oldest shops, WBS is almost a cross between a barbershop opera & factory: The numerous waiting patrons have little to occupy themselves other than watch their phones or the production flow...and they do pump out the precision cuts. There are no appointments so drop in, settle down and watch the show. When you're up, you can either take the that cutter or pass the baton until your favorite comes available. Customers are honest about the waiting queue. I ended up with the lone female barber (barberess?). I climbed in the chair, told her what I wanted (Sting '82, no goo, or a Short Rocky 3 Dolph Lundgren), and she went to work. Within 15-20 minutes, I had a great cut at a great price with tip ($15) and a nice straight-razor neck shave as a bonus. Now that's what a barbershop is all about! I'm giving Wedgewood another shot to make sure it's wasn't too good to be true!

End of day at a long, hard warehouse job...I had an appointment with Lucas for a 6:15pm cut. I was…read morerunning late, and he was the only barber that was still working...kindly waiting for me as I made my way over after work. It was my birthday, and I had a lot on my mind. He listened actively, took his time on my hair despite it being the end of the day, and absolutely overdelivered. Probably the best cut I've ever had. At the end of the cut, I went to pay and he refused. Said happy birthday. I am writing this review because that kind of kindness and customer service is absolutely not present in today's world. I'm hoping my old man hair grows fast, because I want to come back sooner and thank him again.
