I had my inspector and a mold inspector tell me there was a leak in the master closet. I am under contract in this townhome so you can see why that would worry me. The townhome's owner had ACI come and assess the leak. Roy the owner is the one who did the inspection, he wrote in the report there are no active leaks and that the roof is in good condition. I called him to clarify because the other two professions had mentioned a leak, I wanted to be sure this was not anything that a prospective buyer should worry about. He sternly explained that he comes to this building every other week that there are multiple leaks and he's been telling them to replace it but no one wants to. You can see how that raised a major red flag on my side. I talk to my realtor who calls Roy herself and apparently he was talking about a different unit. Weird. Well I call him today to ask if he can please write me something saying that either my roof is in good or poor condition so that I can negotiate price while I am still under contract. He answered the phone by saying "do not call me I want nothing to do with you you are a liar" I stated that I was told it was a misunderstanding about the wrong unit. He didn't want to hear anything I had to say and wouldn't let me speak. Very unfortunate the way his business is handled. He doesn't care about his customers and certainly has no respect for them the way he was talking to me. When the roof was installed the person putting in the screws put 2 screws right next to each other for reasons unknown. One of the screws ripped out looking like it was shot with a 22.
