Our contract with Dr Martin was for a 2-year plan for a 12 year old child, total cost $6,500, of which the contract estimated $2,000 would come from insurance. I didn't realize that the $6,500 is negotiable until I visited another orthodontist's office... Also, I should have been suspicious that Dr Martin's office would offer the contract without even getting pre-authorization from my dental insurance, in which case they would have known that the deductible was actually $2,500. I wonder if Dr Martin may have billed both the insurance company and me for that same $500 difference... Anyway, According to the Delta Dental claims, it appears we overpaid Dr Martin $1,250.

One time they rescheduled one minute before my appointment. I understand things happen but the rescheduling was a trend item and common occurrence. My last appointment was for 8:00 am when they first opened. The staff trickled in between 8- 8:20. The xray equipment didn't work and the office was generally dirty. Stained carpet and dusty shelves. The dental staff itself is good. The place really needs to be managed better.
