We were headed to Hope to meet family. Found Dannie's…read moreonline. Reservations are required but they had room for 2 that night. Completely chose this place for it's uniqueness. We were not disappointed. It is OUT IN THE COUNTRY. Drive in was a little sketchy but we never heard banjoes. Super eclectic remodeled old barn. Staff was very welcoming and we actually visited with the owners for a while. Scallops for appetizer followed by Crab Cakes and Redfish with Crawfish Etouffe on top. Saved room for Creme Brulee. Did not get to try the cheesecake Every item was top notch. Next time we will have to try the beef side of the menu, or maybe the lamb? Well worth the extra driving.

They look like it won't be any good, if you can even find it in the first place. But I promise you won't be disappointed. I missed talking pics of our dinner for to a phone call. But I took pics of dessert! This was or 2nd trip to Dannie's Cafe. It is so good. I recommend the pork chop. And if you like coffee ... get coffee. It comes to your table in a French press coffee pot. Mmmm. I would go just for coffee if you didn't need a reservation. Lol! But please ... And I can't stress this enough. If you make a reservation for 10 ...bring 10 people. They are a very small place and have to plan their dinner service according to the reservations. I have had the filet Oscar style and I wanted to lick my plate afterwards but I didn't because I'm a lady. You don't have to dress up because the café is in a barn shaped building but don't worry the food isn't barn food. Its 5 star food. Yes! In Hope Arkansas!! Do it make the reservation!!

This place was sooooo good. They serve REAL food, and it's REAL good…read more We started with cheese stuffed tots (with little pieces of jalapeños in the center). My husband looked at me and said, "what are we eating"? When I told him what it was, he said, "these are delicious, why don't more places serve these"? So, that should tell you something, but, what really made these delicious is that they were homemade (not a mass sold frozen boxed product). We then ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. The chicken fried steak was delicious and obviously homemade. It was served with biscuits and gravy and grits. When the biscuit arrived, I was instantly deceived- it looked to be a hard, overcooked biscuit. Boy, was I wrong. This biscuit was pure perfection. It had a buttery, crisp outside and was soft and delicious on the inside. This was such a great find during our stay in Heber Springs. If you are looking for exceptional home cooking, this is the real deal.

For Christmas eve, we caught them at a time that wasn't too busy. My daughter and I ordered their country fried steak with eggs and a biscuit & gravy. My mom ordered French toast with bacon. Their gravy isn't a sausage gravy, but if you want it to be, they can make it happen! Our food didn't take long! We were enjoying it quickly and it was tasty!! Hot biscuits, with chunks of sausage, my over medium eggs were almost over hard, but still tasty. Their French toast was delicious too! Customer service was phenomenal! Everyone we spoke to was really nice. I got to say hello and Merry Christmas to Peggy Sue herself! (And she loves her chickens!!!!) Take care, everyone! Happy Holidays!

We got off to a bit of a rocky start at The Buttered Biscuit. We arrived with only one group…read morephysically ahead of us, but quickly realized people were joining the waitlist online before arriving. After overhearing several groups being told they were "next," we decided to bypass the wait and grab seats at the bar--which turned out to be a great decision. Note to self: join the online waitlist from afar next time! From there, everything was wonderful. We ordered the pigs in a biscuit, but our server misheard us and brought the biscuit basket instead--a very happy accident! She gave us four spreads to try: orange honey butter, bacon jam, raspberry jam, and apple butter. The biscuits were fabulous, and the orange honey butter was incredible. The bacon jam was another favorite--we liked it so much that we ordered a large container to take home. I make a bacon vinaigrette dressing from time to time and wanted to try using it, and it turned out perfectly. We had coffee and the Surf & Turf Bloody Mary, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. For brunch, we ordered the sweet potato hash without the onions and peppers and added goat cheese--it was delicious. The bacon avocado Bennie was perfectly prepared, and we added a single pancake that was wonderful because it wasn't overly sweet. What started a little rocky ended up being a fantastic brunch. Great food, friendly service, and so many little touches that made the meal memorable. We would absolutely go back--just with our names already on that waitlist!

The service started out incredibly strong. Our server greeted us immediately and had drinks on the table within three minutes. At first, I was ready to call this some of the best service we've had in Little Rock. The restaurant was also noticeably clean, which helped The Buttered Biscuit stand out. Cleanliness has become an issue at many Little Rock restaurants lately, but this place was well-maintained and inviting. Keep up the great work there. Pigs in a Biscuit -- $8.99 These were delicious. The biscuits absolutely live up to the hype. Nothing more to say, definitely order these. Biscuit and Gravy Meal -- $13.99 The biscuit was easily a 7 out of 5. Seriously, that good. The gravy was good as well, and the whole meal really hit the spot. Countryman Bowl -- $14.99 This one was just okay. There was plenty of bacon and ham, but the potatoes were cold and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp before being thrown onto the plate. If the potatoes and eggs had been served hot, this could have been very good. As served, it was just average. Unfortunately, the service took a sharp turn after we ordered. Our server never came back to the table, our drinks remained empty for the rest of the meal, the coffee we ordered never arrived, and the kids' side of bacon was never brought out. Overall, The Buttered Biscuit has excellent biscuits, a clean dining room, and a promising start to service but the experience needs more consistency.
