I contacted him earlier in the year about a situation a number of tenants and we were having, and he not only told us about his practice, but pointed us to a number of free resources, organizations, and other lawyers in case we wanted to check with them first. That experience alone made me trust him more, since it was clear that he was focused on getting us the help we needed, rather than just getting another client through the door. More recently, I reached out to him for a consultation, and I found his consultation rate reasonable, especially compared to other firms I had contacted prior (some of which then referred me to Jeremy). When I put together documentation that spanned a large number of pages as a pre-read prior to our meeting, he was able to get a handle on all of it in less than a day and came prepared to our session. It's clear that he's passionate about what he does (he only represents tenants, not landlords), and during our session was able to cite laws and ordinances from memory and send us links to use in case we needed them later. I've already referred someone else to Jeremy for their tenant law questions, and wouldn't hesitate to work with him again if the need arises.

Kirk did a fantastic job handling the case for us, responding to her inane/irrelevant emails and maintaining a professional facade through a whole wad of pretty unreasonable behavior. When her parents (who tried to stand in for her in court, long story) said that she wasn't going to abide by the court's decision, he convinced them otherwise and she was gone from the premises later that day. I do have to point out that when the bill came, Kirk had overcharged us. When I pointed out the error, he quickly rectified it, and I believe it was an honest mistake, but it was still slightly annoying to have to fix. I think it was due to a recent change in their billing software. Even with this mistake, he'd only charged us for 15 minutes of billable hours (instead of zero, since we'd paid the flat contested fee up front), which is honestly quite generous considering how much nonsense he had to put up with from the defendant. I'd take a half star off for this if yelp allowed it. Overall, I'd definitely hire him for any real estate lawsuits I have in the future (hopefully none!). Seriously competent lawyer who can stay professional through anything.
