My review is strange in that I did not use Darin's services. But let me explain. In my case, I needed to serve someone in their home city on a Thursday night and if I had no luck, I needed Darin to serve the person in a entirely different city on Friday. The urgency was that the person was leaving the country on Saturday. I called several process servers in both cities and Darin got back to me first. We discussed the entire process, the identification information, and his pricing. I made the payment and strangely, the 1st process server I called 5 gr previous (the one for Thursday) finally responded. I advised darren right away that I might be able to get it done that evening but the chances were slim. He told me to let him know if I got it done. Shocked as all get out, the process server who took 5 hr to respond served the party in two hours. So I contacted Darin for a possible refund (as he did not need to do the job on Friday (the next day). I was bummed that I only got a partial refund. But I couldn't have been happier with his response time, his kindness, his friendliness, his is willing to educate me on the process, and his professionalism. I'm all the way in LA County and the headquarters of the company I needed served is all the way in Contra Costa County. I didn't qualify for the fee waiver the Sheriff requires and thank goodness I didn't. Darin knows exactly what you need. With the Sheriff's I would have been left on my own more than anything. Listen, lady, the judge ruled in my favor for two separate cases for this guy who took advantage of me. He did not abide to the contract we signed and paid me less than what was agreed. Darin made it clear that she needed to do her job and not make decisions that she is not authorized to make. I was on a real estate team and the Lead took advantage of my novice experience and knowledge. I went to small claims and won! I decided to collect the judgement with a wage garnishment because of course this guy didn't pay me even after the judge determined I was owed money. This guy has had over 1 year to pay me and finally 15 months later (small claims began in September 2021) I got my first check!!! Go with Darin. He was also the only one who answered my call. The rating is combined for my two jobs I hired Darin for. First, I hired him to serve small claims papers. He did a great job on that front. Explained the process, kept me informed, followed up in a timely manner after each step. 5 stars there. I then had him do a skip trace and that's where his performance went south. He went completely MIA on me; I tried calling and texting several times and when I did get a hold of him, he kept giving me excuses (e.g. I was sick, I'll call you when I get to my office, etc etc) on why the job wasn't done. Never did get a response from him on the job so I went elsewhere. Very disappointing after the strong performance with the process serving work. Zero stars for the skip trace unfortunately.
