Advantage Plumbing - Installed a new AMERICAN STANDARD Reliant Two-Piece toilet

Advantage Plumbing

We have used four plumbers since moving to Omaha four years ago. We just had a new kitchen faucet…read moreand garbage disposal installed by Hugh from Advantage. I called several plumbers, and Advantage was the only business that provided us with an estimate of the work's cost. The others all wanted to come see the job, provide a quote, and then we could decide to accept their proposal or send them walking. I wasn't looking for a firm quote; I just wanted an idea. Hugh from Advantage was polite, neat, and very efficient. The total cost was reasonable and lower than we had experienced with other plumbers for comparable work.

I had a great experience with Advantage Plumbing…read more Through Yelp, I requested help for a toilet and shut valve replacement. (The toilet has been having intermittent issues and needs replacement.) They immediately connected with me and offered to come out the same day (but I still had not gotten the new toilet.) We scheduled for the day after, and they were here by the promised time. The team quickly removed their shoes at the front door without being asked (not my general experience with many repair teams) and started working. They finished almost precisely at 90 minutes despite a minor complication. (The basement/toilet drain was not draining well which they augered out.) It was explained to me that it was likely a combination of time and a 20-year-old toilet (which did not generate enough force). Other than minimal dust and grime, they did not leave any bigger messes for me to clean up. They were professional, and their price was well aligned with other companies. They did not sell me on any additional service plans but did guarantee their service for a year. (There is a 4% for credit card transactions.)

Matt is a very knowledgeable and personable young man. He had no trouble at all with snaking the main, but before he could put his equipment away a secondary issue was discovered. Matt had to climb up on the roof and clean out the vent pipe and did it with ease. Major Drain has been out to our house several times over the years, and have always been quick to respond and always reasonably priced. Meeting Matt today was an added bonus. Nobody wants sewer problems, but Major Drain will be the one I call when it happens again.

They immediately tried to upsell us. A friend recommended Major Drain who was very open and honest and told us exactly what we needed, what we didn't need, and what our fees were going to be right upfront. The two gentlemen that came and installed everything were extremely professional and friendly and very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend Major Drain and will definitely use them again in the future. It is my understanding that Major Drain technicians do not work on commission so they are there because they want to be and to do a job which is very refreshing in today's age. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!!! Thank you Major Drain!

The moment the roto-rooter guy answered the phone, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. He had the most soothing, confident voice. I immediately felt relieved and could just tell they had this covered. I'm in my third year of medical school (the busiest year), so I had no idea how I could get someone over to fix this problem in a way that would work with my schedule. The guy on the phone literally offered to send someone that night, but I opted for the next day right after work. Sam and Ray from Omaha showed up right at the beginning of the four hour arrival window -- it was the most ideal timing. I'm getting chemo right now and nervously explained on the phone that I was much more likely to get sick because of this and asked if his technicians would wear masks. When Sam and Ray showed up, they already knew about my mask request and were more than happy to oblige (they were so considerate they even wore clean booties in the house every time they entered). I spent most of my time with Sam; he was personable and patiently taught me about what he was doing as he was doing it. I'm pretty curious so I had a ton of questions and he knowledgeably answered each one. When a person does that in medicine, we call them a good doctor. I hereby recommend we call Sam and Ray the Drain Doctors of Omaha. If we want people who are kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and caring to take care of our bodies, why not also want that in the people taking care of our houses? Roto-rooter showed me I could have that. 11/10 would recommend to a friend. Thank you so much.

They get away with it, because how many of us know about these things, unless you do it for a living or have someone in your life you can give you guidance. So you cross you fingers and hope for the best. I got some advice from someone who I trusted to not steer me wrong, I needed to get a water softener, and I am glad for the advice I received. JP Plumbing installed the water softener and gave me very good advice on how to maintain it, you don't have buy all that fancy salt with additives (i've never had one before). After they left, I noticed my hot water wasn't running in once of the bathrooms, I called and they came right back. Turns out the pipe froze, they fixed it and did charge extra for coming back or an arm and a leg for fixing something they did not come to fix in the first place. I now have a plumber that I trust, call them first for all of your plumbing needs. They will not overcharge you, try to upsell you or leave your house in a mess (as another company did one of my friends) and by all means NEVER call the people they tell you to call when your plumbing is hurtin', call JP Plumbing instead.
