I feel like this 5-star review was earned simply because we beat the clock and escaped the room with only 4 minutes to spare . The excitement alone probably boosted the rating lol. All In Adventures is located inside Crossgates Mall in Albany. It's easiest to access by parking near the JCPenney entrance and taking the escalator up to the second floor near Zara. The space itself is a little unassuming from the outside, but the real razzle-dazzle begins once you enter the rooms. You get to choose from about 9 or 10 escape room options, and our team chose Black Ops, which I definitely recommend. Our host, Zach, was friendly, informative, and did a great job explaining the rules. One thing I really appreciated was that they don't actually lock the rooms because they care about guests not feeling claustrophobic. I thought that was a really considerate touch. As a team, and with a few hints lol, we successfully completed the mission. I had an absolute blast. Also, this was the first escape room I've ever successfully escaped from, so that was definitely another win for me lol. After the room, your team can take photos in front of a green screen. I will say this area could use a little improvement because the props were a bit lacking, but honestly, outside of that, I have zero complaints. Really isn't an escape room. It's WAY too expensive for the experience. Looks great online, but terrible in person. Each 'escape' is just a single room and a small square room at that. No decor other than a couple of cheap props. All you do is undo locks, the clues don't tie to the lock - find 4 digits try every 4 digit lock. Staff while friendly were scattered. We finished but had no idea what to do, just wandered out till we found someone and after a bit they went and stopped the clock. All the rooms are just behind an unlocked door you can go in and out as you like - no where to put belongings but on the floor in the room. And you can hear everything from all other rooms. If you are looking for an escape room in the Mall 5 wits is a much much better option. read more

Worst experience ever- DO NOT GO HERE. Not a normal escape room experience their individual rooms and they are literally the worst things ever. If I could give it a negative rating, I would. Other locations might be better, but this one is freaking terrible inside of a mall. We actually had a lot of fun celebrating my son's 17th birthday with him - just mom, dad and him. We did 2 rooms and the staff was friendly and welcoming. So why only 2 stars? Well, after a fun afternoon, spending a couple of hours and day and dropping over $200 at this place, I received a call from store manager, Liz, who left me a vm stating that they noticed that the top of a wooden clock, one of the props in the zombie apocalypse room, had come off and they needed me to call them and explain what happened. The message said she didn't need us to replace it, but I had to explain. I am sure it is not surprising that I was a more than a little annoyed, but called her back to tell her that the top of the clock had been sitting on it crooked, clearly looking like it was supposed to come off (the clue referred to something IN the clock (which there was)), and it had come right off. She proceeded to tell me that there had been a group in before us and the clock seemed fine when they left. At this point, I was definitely pissed that she not only had me call her to "explain" how some old crappy clock got broken, but then argued with me about what I told her. I asked her what it was that she wanted me to do (as in, why are we having this ridiculous conversation??), and she said she needed to call her regional manager or something like that. I said she should do whatever she needed to do, but that I am a 55 year old woman and my husband is 58...we certainly did come in to trash her clock. The fact that a business would conduct themselves this way over a $10 clock (at best!) that was in worse shape than something I would have thrown out to begin with and not really have a purpose for even calling me about it is asinine. I honestly can't even believe it still...who in their right mind would have that be a practice for something like this?! Being that the entire situation was so petty and ridiculous, and that it had us ending our day on a negative note, that was the first and last time we will patronize this business. With 5 Wits close by and other similar businesses, they must feel their shitty clock is worth losing customers over and must have as much business as they think they need. Rest assured I'll be sharing my experience with lots of people. Word of mouth can make or break a business, so good luck to them if this is how they treat customers. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had. After spending $300 for a room of 5 people we expected a good experience. When we got there for our 7:45 scheduled room they were not ready for us and didn't even know we were showing up. Fine - but that's not the worst part. The person at the front desk was so scatterbrained and couldn't stay on a topic to save his life, making us listen to his 20 minute spiel about how we shouldn't damage the walls and decorations. The decorations in question being dollar store stickers plastered on the wall. The worst part was the room. A small closet sized room with no ceiling and egregiously well lit. When we started some of the objects weren't closed correctly which led us on a 10 minute goose chase that ended up futile. The worst part was when we got a UV light to find a very obvious clue. But when it came time to finding the clue nothing happened. We spent 20 minutes figuring out what we did wrong just for the guy to say it wasn't working correctly and ended up giving us the code to make up for it. We spent 20 minutes of our 50 minutes trying to find the clue and all you offered us was the code after having 5 minutes left?? I'd also like to mention that all the clues lead to locks. We did the Alcatraz room and had so much fun!!! We solved level 2 with 12 minutes to spare but couldn't solve the last level 3 clue in the 50 minutes. It didn't matter though! We had a great time and would love to do another in the future. read more

That being said, this has to be the worst escape room ever made. To expatiate, the rooms are the size of a gas station bathroom. Good luck trying to fit more than four people in the room. By the same token, the rooms are made extremely cheap. The rooms are falling apart and the only decorations are cheap stickers from a dollar store. Continuously, the only thing you do in these rooms is open lock after lock. Nothing else, I mind as well open a safe all day. Another problem is the rooms are themed, but they have nothing to do with the theme. I decided to do a movie room because I thought the clues would be about movies, but nothing was about the movies. The room had nothing to do with movies, the clues didn't, and it was just a scam. All of the "rooms" are the exact same, there is no difference. On top of this, the price was $20 a person for 50 minutes. Absolute ripoff for the quality of the product. The moral of the story is that All In Adventures is putrid garbage and a complete scam. This was my first escape room, and it was a good time. I had fun with my coworkers, and we were able to solve the mystery juuuust at the time limit. The room was a little worn down, due to folks trying to rip apart the furniture and peel things off the walls, so the spaces could do with a bit of a touch-up. But all the clues were manageable to solve and the staff was friendly. We tried the 007 room. It was challenging but we were able to beat the level 1 task in 45 minutes, and the level 2 task with 2 minutes to spare. Every time we asked the guy to come give a clue we'd figure it out as he showed up. The tall dude was super nice and helpful. The other guy was also pretty nice and explained everything clearly. We happened upon the Escape the Mystery Room. After checking out the different scenes and price, we opted for the Escape from Alcatraz scenario. Since we didn't have a reservation, we pre-paid the $20 per person ($60 bucks) and were told to come back at a certain time. We arrived 20 minutes early and were told we could start early. Before being locked inside a small, approximately 12 x 12 room. The host gave us instructions and a 50 minute time limit. We were also told we could ask staff for help only twice within the alloted time. SYNOPSIS: Once locked inside, my family and I went to work. Using nothing but written clues, pictures on the walls and lots of puzzle solving. We took it to the last minute wire but, we prevailed. Finishing the challenge with one minute and a few seconds left. After opening the door to escape the room, we were congratulated and told our room challenge only had a 40% solvability rate. Nice! RECOMMENDATIONS: Fun... Fun... Fun... The escape room thing is something I've heard about but had never done. My wife and I had fun for an hour. We may well go back. We paid $35 per person (apparently some people pay $20). This is disconcerting. We booked online and were pressured several times to fill out a "waiver" that wanted to know things like our genders, our birth dates, address, etc. First, it wasn't a waiver. It was an attempt to populate a database that is no doubt for sale. Second, we decided not to fill it out and the attendant at the storefront seemed not to know. He never mentioned a waiver, never asked for any other information. Our conclusion based on these reviews is that you shouldn't make your reservations online. There seems to be a surcharge paid to the company that handles the reservations. Maybe we're coming to that conclusion simply because we just spent an hour in a puzzle room. Other than that, we were challenged! There was a strong emphasis on unlocking combination locks by finding written clues. Bring a pencil and a pad of paper for keeping notes. read more

I almost got arrested because they told me once we got there and no signs on the door or counter that even though we are vaccinated that we have to wear a mask. I argued with the girl that is not right that they dont tell you ahead of time since my wife called and made the reservation and pre-paid. I asked to be refunded and they refused. Instead they called security and he came down and said he will call the police if i keep arguing. There were never any threats i was just annoyed and frustrated. Not quite sure why there is terrible and I mean terrible reviews about this place. People just have to find something to complain about nowadays. I went here with my family(4 of us) and this was our first escape room. We've always wanted to try one and yesterday was that day. There are many different escape rooms that you can do which I think is great! We failed Alcatraz by only one more code but we definitely want to come back and try out another room. The staff was very friendly and when we used our hints, they came to our room promptly and helped us with what we were struggling with. I saw reviews about being able to hear others in different rooms, and while there was a lot of other people there, we could barely hear them as we were so focused in on our own room. My only negative comment about this place is that it's $25 a person so it was a $100 adventure for only a 50 minute thing. However, we will return as it was a blast! I went with a few friends who had been a few years ago. They seemed incredibly impressed with recent changes. Apparently they've gone through two or three managers in the past three years and have finally stabled out. They are also moving their location within the mall, FYI. As for the actual experience, it's a fun idea if you like riddles and puzzles. One clue leads to another which leads to another. For example, one clue gave us numbers which helped us unlock something, which then in turn gave us another clue. Eventually you find a key which unlocks the room and you "win". I'm pretty sure bragging rights is all you win though. The rules they have you read at the beginning had me wide eyed and killed a another small portion of my faith in humanity. The only reason "keep all clothes, including shoes, on" is a rule is because someone was a reason for the rule creation. Gross. So aside for some lost faith in humanity, I enjoyed the mystery. The group I went with plan on going back again, so overall, good times. read more

We came here on a company outing and had a blast! We had 14 people so we split into 2 rooms. Our escape room guide was good natured and really contributed to the friendly competition. The rules were clear and our hints were fair. A unique feature of this company is that you get extra puzzles if you finish early! We got the most out of our time AND extra bragging rights! Though me and my friends had fun, it was disappointing that we asked for a clue, took twenty minutes, then was rudely told when the man came in after we were done that we had to get out as someone was coming in, in three minutes. We asked how to solve the last clue and he said well I don't really remember and rushed us out. We waited fifteen minutes for our picture and the same guy came out and said oh so I guess you're waiting for a pic, sighed, and seemed annoyed. The rooms are smaller than my bathroom the whole place is just opening lock after locks that's it nothing else. The decoration is just stickers on the wall. The clue are ripped and the room is old.some of the clue are not even well hidden or have good hints. Since there is no ceiling you can hear other people there screaming and yelling. This place is basically a scam the website makes it out to be so nice and high end. Let's be real DONT EASTE YOUR MONEY HERE go any where else. This is my 6th escape room experience and also the least enjoyable. We did "Escape from Alcatraz". The staging was questionable at best. The "puzzles" were just lock combinations, and even when you cracked the lock code, the lock would stick. This caused a lot of time to be wasted because we thought we were doing something wrong. The employee who came to help us was very kind, and she pulled the locks open for us, albeit ten minutes wasted. We asked her for help a few more times and she simply gave us the answer instead of offering a hint to let us figure it out ourselves. While the rooms are private, they are essentially cubicles. We could hear our neighbors loud and clear, swearing with frustration. While this escape room is the cheapest in the area, it's not worth the savings. If you are at Crossgates Mall, go to 5-wits instead. read more

The room themes are really cool, the staff is hella friendly, met the manager and she was really dope too. Me and my friends came here to celebrate a birthday and honestly had no idea what it was, but the staff was really good explaining everything and they were really good about checking up on us while we were in the room. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Let's start with check in- absolute chaos. "Here, read this." Not helpful for the people in our group who had never done an escape room. Then we get to the room. It couldn't have been done crappier. The decor is beat up, looks like it's never been cleaned (gross) the posters on the wall are all low resolution clip art. Having done this before at a different place, I can say that the clues were not done well here. In fact, we never could have figured out the last clue because it was supposed to be on the wall and the paper wasn't. "Oh, uhm, yeah... it used to be on the wall, but not anymore, I guess." So you could literally never finish the game. After the buzzer went off, it took 5+ minutes for him to come and get us. It was hot and we were all annoyed and just wanted out. When we did finally get out, he asked us if we wanted to do a photo. We said sure, got out the props and waited. And waited. And waited. After five minutes we said screw it and left. What a crappy experience. I'm glad my sister in law used a Groupon. For myself and my husband it was $40! I wish I could get a refund. Not fun. I came on 2 separate occasions with 2 different group of friends and I don't think we much enjoyed it either time. I just want to start off by saying they make you buy clues at $3 a piece. Considering its like $20 per person to play, this is a huge negative. We also got into a small Groupon quibble with the girl at the front and she was a bit rude to my friend. The Groupon issue could have been solved if the manager had just called me back like she promised, but she didn't. I came with 8 people the first time and tried their hardest room. My complaint is all 8 of us had to work on one puzzle at a time so a lot of us were not occupied. The puzzle also somewhat involved a small wall so we couldn't all fit in there to work on it at the same time. They also had books on the bookshelf that were related to the puzzle thematically but didn't actually help solve it (red herrings). We ended up spending way too much time scrutinizing them. I can say there is not enough information for you to infer the solutions to at least 2 of those puzzles for that particular room. The second time I came with a different group of 6 and tried their black ops room. We actually solved the second puzzle but didn't know that we had to push the yellow lock before pulling to open it. So we spent like 30 minutes trying to figure out a puzzle we already solved. Maybe put a note on the lock that says you have to push before pulling. Super frustrating. The lady there did let us stay to finish the puzzle after the time was up, which is nice, but we were all pretty beat by then. It suffered from the same problem as the first. We all had to work on one puzzle so some of us were not occupied. Overall my impression is they are overcharging for this experience. It's a fine line between fun and frustration and they do not try to make it a fun experience (like charging $3 for a clue to move on for example). read more

Came here a few weeks ago with 5 other people and it was fun.... in an "I really like to observe other people" kind of way. The room was small, too small, really, and I believe they allow up to 8 people. Can't imagine another 2 in there. Anyway, as someone else said, there was no backstory to the rooms (we chose the Hollywood one). Clues are "for sale", although staff came in to give us clues twice for free. How generous of them! I like the idea of these escape rooms, however, I didn't realize that they're so small (and maybe they aren't at other places), and I think even having 6 people is too many. I think it is inevitable that you get a couple of people who are gung-ho on solving this thing and then the others sit back and watch them work. And it would have been REALLY nice if we had known ahead of time that the order of the code doesn't matter, just that you have all of the numbers/letters. I don't think I'd go back. read more

Overall, for the price paid, not worth it. Pros: Interesting concept. Lots of options for rooms. Cons: We made a reservation for four people and they tried to put us with a group of four strangers. We solved the puzzle, but were unable to complete it because the padlock didn't work. No back story, or context for why we were in the room. The room would be very small for more than 5 people. Puzzles were not in good shape. Noisy adjacent groups take away from the experience. The puzzles could only be worked on by one person at a time. *Most importantly, after our time was up, when asked for a clue, the staff member took several tries to open the padlock that we spent 20 minutes trying to open. For the price of $80 for a group of four, you think they could afford better padlocks. We went to All in Adventures in Rockaway, NJ. Not worth the money AT ALL. I bought a party package for 12 girls, and figured with the money I was shelling out, we would definitely be having an experience. The attendant who led us in to the room, did not give us great instructions other than how to unlock a padlock. If you are planning a birthday party for a kid, I don't think this is a good fit...at least not for 12 kids ages 11. Maybe a smaller group and a bit older. But still, even as an adult- I have no intentions of ever going back. You are basically put in a room built in store in the mall (ours faced out to the mall hallway with a black curtain blocking folks views of us. We did not solve the mystery, partially bc I think we were given little to no instructions. The party room in the back was nice enough. If you book this space, bring a radio if you want music. I also suggest games or something, bc you have the room for a full extra hour. I will also add; there is no bathroom in the place. You have to go out into the mall and use the facilities out there. Not very convenient if you have a party full of kids that you need to leave alone to help another child walk out in to the mall to use the restroom. read more

Save your money and go somewhere better. I absolutely love the whole escape-the-room concept. I've done a couple really good ones, and they were a ton of fun. So it comes as no surprise to me that some company decided to try to mass produce the concept. The problem is this doesn't work. In a well-designed mystery room, there is a compelling backstory, and all the clues work together in a non-linear fashion. While each room at this place has a theme, none of them have stories. The clues are very linear. You find Clue #1, which tells you how to find Clue #2, etc., etc., and then you find the final clue and leave the room. It's not really clear why you need a large group because unless you accidentally solve the clues out of order, you're all stuck looking at the same clue together. By contrast, a well-designed mystery room allows all participants to split up into smaller groups and all work on some clue on their own, at various points coming together to share the solutions they've found so far. Granted, this place is cheaper than your average mystery room, but trust me, a good mystery room is well worth the money. This room isn't. read more

Unfortunately, we didn't have a fun experience. We had previously purchased tickets for 5 people. 1. Due to the snow storm, my parents were unable to drive up from out of town. We couldn't change the date, get a store credit or refund for $40. So, we're out $40. 2. The rooms are very small. There is a 8 max capacity per room. I'm not sure how 8 people could fit comfortable. The decor was ok. It was mainly unlocking pad locks. 3. The rooms were incredibly loud. You can hear everything and it was very annoying on trying to read the clues to figure things out. 4. We ask for help in the last 10 mins and no one came. So, we just sat there waiting. When he came in to let us out- we were frustrated and couldn't hear him tells the clues - which didn't matter cause we waited 10 mins before it timed out. 5. Then we when we leaving -we waited for a picture- the 2 workers were whispering to each other and then talking to other people waiting for our room. So, we just left. We could her say - oh wait - we can take your picture now. We were so frustrated with 2 kids over it - we just kept walking. Wasted $106. read more

I participated in the Treasure Island mystery room today and was disappointed by my experience. The room itself was cheaply thrown together in a way that did not make me feel immersed in the scene. It was essentially a room with office lighting, clues velcroed to the walls, and laminated pictures printed from the internet, with a few props scattered on the ground. The walls dividing the rooms were also so thin that you could hear yelling from all of the other rooms the entire time. The puzzles were very straightforward and simple, with two people we completed them all in 25 minutes. We were supposed to find a key card that signified the end of, "level one," (which was also our manner of escaping the room) but it was no where to be found. After buzzing to use our first clue to ask about the key card, we waited 5 minutes or so for the employee to come in. When she arrived, she looked around and said, "oh, I guess the key card didn't get put back when the room was reset, you're done with everything though." I have never in my life felt less like I was a pirate on a ship than when I participated in the Treasure Island room. read more
