Mark is incredible with dogs, it's as simple as that. Cinder, our lab-hound mix is a kill shelter rescue dog who is an endearing mix of incredibly loving, nervous, and protective. She sometimes has a hard time accepting new people or animals. The first time we met Mark with her, he cued in on her personality without us even having to tell him within a couple of minutes. Mark (and his own dog Ocean) quickly got her acclimated and the boarding for the holidays went really well. We could tell Cinder liked Mark and vice versa, and it was a really good match. Moreover Mark had a strategy to deal with her nervousness to calm her down and get her excitable nature calmed down. We just got back from an international trip for about a week, and when I came to pick her up she was laying on the couch with Mark and Ocean (which if you met Cinder, you'd realize is absolutely incredible - our pup who is very loving to us as part of her pack is territorial and challenging of other people and animals, so this was great to see). We like knowing that Mark is going to give Cinder the first-hand attention she deserves while boarded with All Dogs Considered, and she's going to get plenty of exercise and affection. All in a homey atmosphere that feels like a vacation for the dog, and not just a glorified kennel. Furthermore Mark is a really stand up, easy going guy, and is very easy to do business with, which is another great aspect of All Dogs Considered. Part of planning for a vacation is finding a safe, fun, enriching place for my dog Frankie to stay. After Frankie's stay with Mark, I don't have to worry that Frankie will be taken care of and have a great time while I'm away! I went away for 5 days this summer and decided to leave Frankie with Mark. Frankie is a big dog and a lot of places are hesitant to take him. Mark insisted Frankie come over to his house before his stay to get acclimated to the surroundings and to meet some of his fellow boarding dog roommates. During this initial visit, Mark took the time to make sure Frankie got along with the other dogs. If he didn't, Mark had a private room for Frankie upstairs, where he could lounge between his daily times outside. It turned out Frankie got along great with the other dogs and they spent the whole vacation together! While I was away, Mark texted pictures to show how Frankie was getting along. Frankie had so much fun playing with the other dogs and spending much of the day outside in one of Mark's fenced in backyards (Mark has 2 separately fenced in backyards for dogs with different play temperaments). When I picked Frankie up he was obviously well taken car of and well fed. The one things was....Frankie was legit played out from playing and spending time outside at Mark's! We live in Providence and don't have a yard so I don't think Frankie wanted to leave! Great experience. I, like many families have a very busy schedule. Work, kids and all that life brings, makes for a busy week. Our family decided on adopting a dog from a shelter whom we cherish more than I can put into words. However, even with four able people to walk our dog Astro, we could never make the time to do it with any consistency. We know how much he loves and needs those walks for his continued good health and happiness.Then, like an answer to a prayer, we found Mark. Quite frankly, I was a little leery about anyone else handling Astro, but my concerns were quickly met with relief when I met with Mark. My dog Rosie loves her slumber parties at All Dogs Considered! Mark is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience when it comes to dogs, so you know your pet will be safe while you are away. My dog sometimes has a hard time meeting new people and other dogs, but Mark understands her needs so well that I don't have to worry about these things when she is in his care. When I drop Rosie off, Mark always gives a little update about what other dogs are staying over and who she might feel comfortable playing with. He takes the time to get to know each dog so he can arrange safe and fun playtimes for everyone. Sometimes we even get photo or video updates during her overnight stays - I love seeing her enjoying her time and playing with Ocean and the other dogs in a fun, stress-free environment. It is awesome to have this alternative to a traditional boarding facility, and it gives me such peace of mind knowing my pup is in good hands while we are away. Our dog is very anxious so we're usually reluctant to board him, but we felt 100% comfortable leaving him with Mark. Apparently our dog felt 100% comfortable too - sleeping and eating and even playing! The home-like environment is perfect - there is plenty of room outdoors for exercise and separate areas if the dogs need or want to be separated. It is also very comforting to work with someone who loves and understands dogs as much as Mark - I know he knows how to handle our dog's needs. He's also very professional (be prepared you WILL need to call well in advance so he can meet your dog ahead of time and you will need to provide a vaccination record from your vet) and as a client I definitely appreciate these things! We have been bringing our 4 year old pit bull type dog, Lady, to stay with Mark at his home for 3 years and will NEVER consider bringing her anywhere else!! We are very selective with who we entrust our baby with since Lady can be shy with strangers and selective with her dog friends, but Mark's extensive experience with dog training and zen vibe won Lady over immediately. He is caring and conscientious, and whenever we leave Lady in his care I feel as though we are taking her to her second home. I never worry - and I am the most worrisome dog mom ever!! When we were looking for a suitable place to board our dog for an upcoming trip, we were lucky enough to find Mark. He has three separate outdoor areas for the dogs to use if needed.
