Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I…read morepurchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience.

Very reasonable pricing and availability very good. Dean assessed the situation and had an excellent solution which he was able to implement without delay. He came prepared and handled the problem professionally. The installation took less than a day. They kept the worksite clean and left it the way they found it. We are very happy with the job and will call again for any window needs we may have. Definitely would recommend!

He finally came over and I was excited that I finally found someone who could do the work and was pleasant and price conscience. He presented me with an estimate for the window repair and I immediately agreed to the price and let him know. That's where everything stopped. I waited and waited and waited even more for a call back with an estimate but my numerous calls, texts and emails were never answered. I finally sent an email asking for his advice on window repair versus replacement and he emailed me back basically telling me what a bad idea we were thinking of, but he never gave me the courtesy of even a short email saying he was too busy to take care of the repair of our windows, especially the one that was blown out by the wind. Summit county has very few people who do the work the owner does, so I totally understand he was too busy, but why did he not respond to my repeated texts/ calls/emails so I could just move on and find someone else? When I agreed to the pricing I figured he was at least interested in doing the work and we were willing to wait. I also had a house full of other windows needed adjusting, so it wasn't like this job was too small. I eventually had to go out of county to find a reputable service but I would have contacted them much sooner had I figured out the owner did not want my business. Unfortunately I had to have his business removed from my realtor's recommended service providers because I could no longer endorse the company. I am disappointed that so many contractors and service providers don't give potential customers the courtesy of a quick text or email saying sorry, they have plenty of work and don't want extra work. Maybe some day these folks will need the work and I won't be using them. If you are looking for window repair or servicing in the Summit County area, look further west to the Vail Valley or Eagle area. Summit County has so few, and the one I thought was the best fit is unresponsive.

Job is still not complete. Have been back 6 times due to broken frames, broken locks, hard to open (sticky window's), and sealant around glass. My experience is not what I expected from Costco, Marvin and Lifetime.

We did a very big project with Lifetime. The quality of workmanship was more on the positive side…read morealthough some bad apples ruined it for the rest. The biggest reason I would not recommend Lifetime is because of the corporate office. From the start, the process was very disorganized. The sales person lied about what they would do. Their office regularly ignored or gave us terse answers. The project took a year from start to finish and all along the way I felt like I was the project manager - he was mostly absent. Around the 1 year mark, while we still had no completed permit, several known outstanding issues and no walk-through or sign-off they amazingly started emailing, calling and sending us threatening letters. I never knew they could communicate so well! I promptly responded, explaining my concerns and what I expected for them to receive the final payment. My emails went unanswered but a QA person kept calling my wife for some reason. Finally I was able to connect with him, and against my better judgement, I had a few phone calls with him. He promised to sort everything out and stop the threatening letters. The letters kept coming and yet nobody came to fix the problems. I kept responding in writing as I was now thinking we were going to have a legal showdown. After some more time, they finally called again (my wife, not me) and setup a time to come 'review the complaints'. In person, they were very nice and patient as we outlined all the outstanding work. Again, they verbally agreed to fix the issues and halt the nasty letters. I didn't hold my breath. After a few more weeks they did finally come back out and fix the issues. I have to say they did a decent job and overall the windows/doors look nice. Why they couldn't have done that in the first place I have no idea but the whole process left a sour taste in our mouth. Of course we immediately made the final payment and we haven't heard from them again - no apology, no check in. The process was a mess and the communication was horrible. I don't know why they even hire project managers because ours never showed and never got involved. And one 'master' installer was so sloppy and speedy that he ruined all the good work the other guys did.

Unique Windows did a wonderful install job, doing new trim around the windows that looks gorgeous. The house has been so much warmer, and so much more well ventilated since the install about a month ago. There was a minor alignment detail on the trim that looked off - though the windows themselves were slightly misaligned in the house itself. The owner Preston agreed that the trim could be adjusted for alignment, and he and Jim came out to remove and reset the trim themselves. Looks perfect. A well done job, complete. I loved how they took ownership in fixing up that detail so we can all feel good about the new windows in my home. I'm really glad I chose CCE to work with. And I LOVE my new windows.
