The second morning I realized it was the smell of a hot wire. I traced it to a sub panel in our furnace enclosure. Taking off the cover, I could see the melting insulation and read the temperature of the thick cable at over 600°. We called out an HVAC company. Their man made a good effort and replaced a breaker in the box. However, the next morning I could smell the cooking fish again. They recommended Jefferson Electric. Jefferson sent out a supervisor to assess the situation and give us a quote. He ended up going to buy the parts, replacing the entire box and solving the problem, removing our fire hazard. Price was fair Good people!

So many of the plumbing, electric and HVAC contractors are just trying to sell and up-sell (yes, I've had bad experiences with a few), but this company is honorable.

We have placed dozens of calls, and left messages and emails, but they have stopped responding. We hit a farm drain tile which was not detected. I was responsible for fixing that but their guys were very helpful as well. One of the circuits had some non-standard wiring in my house and one outlet was not re-connected. Unfortunately that was the outlet for the sump pump. My basement flooded and the furnace and water heater were a complete loss. I don't want anyone to have a complicated experience like mine but Icon was very honorable though out the whole situation. I also had a problem with some water in one of the solar strings which they were also able to fix. The only outstanding item is to get the drywall put back together in the garage. I was happy to have Icon when things did not take the happy path.

I come here to tell two experiences I had with this contract…read more I got a new home from Ryan Home in 2023 new construction and this contract did install my inwall Ethernet port per Ryan home requests. First time they installed telephone wires but not Ethernet cables. Then we found the issue and asked Ryan home to fix it. They fixed it but left the Ethernet cables in basement untouched without a connector. I had to pay a Spetrum network technician to cut connectors for us in 2023. I didn't notice this company was my new home contract until 08/2026. The second experience is that I doubt my inwall network cable or endpoint was not working properly. I asked them to come for a look and see if it still within warranty. Someone said it should be within warranty. They came and fixed the endpoints which are good. They charged 250$ for finding the cable and cutting the endpoint! What a ridiculous price! They took away my own crimping tool by accident and left over a box. It's just too ridiculous if I hadn't just checked by myself. That could explain what happened in 2023 when the same mistakes were made while I wasn't at home checking. How can the team be trustworthy if something similar happened once again??? This company to me is just always making mistakes. You paid money to not get a good quality service as expected. It's a hell quality. We always want to support local business but this local business is just garbage IMO. Don't deal with this company or you will have mess to deal with.
