We took the car in to Miromax, and received an estimate. They detailed what services they would provide, and explained the process. The estimate was $475, which seemed fair given the damage...definitely less expensive than taking it to a body shop. The damage turned out to be more extensive than they anticipated. The metal was stretched out more than it had originally appeared, and the repairs took more time and effort than they had planned for. They actually stayed open later than their normal hours so they could finish the job rather than keep the car over the weekend. Despite the fact that there was far more work and time involved, they did not charge us any more than they had estimated. The car looked perfect. They said it was 99%; we say it is a definite 100%. As a bonus, the car was washed and looked even better than it did when we picked it up from the dealership. It literally sparkled. Lovely people to work with. Honest. Fair. Above and beyond. Highly recommend this business.

Most parts required were already purchased and/or with the vehicle inc. a new wiring harness. In June was told work was going to begin. I visited the shop in July, NOTHING had been done except cover my car with plastic. I expressed concern with the lack of progress and contact. I was assured that it would get done and better communication would occur. Two more months (Aug & Sep), more parts were requested and delivered and more excuses for lack of progress. Early October was told engine and trans would be mated the next day. Two weeks later I again called the owner and expressed my displeasure with his lack of progress up to this point. November- more excuses of waiting on tools (plasma cutter) to finish. December- was texted that the cutter arrived, pics from him sent showing them using a cutting wheel, no plasma cutter. More delays with HVAC system work never performed. Middle of February 2023- Was told project almost complete with startup by the end of the week. No contact for a month. March- Asked about startup, no startup, more excuses about a wiring issue when given a brand new wiring harness at the beginning. April- reported wiring issues resolved, startup that week. May- My wife went to shop and took pictures of my car as they are only open on weekdays. NONE of the work reported complete was done except the wiring harness being plugged in, only the engine mounted in the car, and subframe spacers installed. And mind you that I was dealing with my mothers terminal cancer and eventual death right after mid October which he promised the car would be done before. June- I arrived unannounced to pick up my property and terminate contract. The owner reneged on his own prior commitment of a full refund he made to my wife prior, and after some arguing, I agreed to 51% of my deposit back. This didnt include, the promise to replace my engine stand he lost the adapter plate to, the stale check he wrote me, the 2nd check I got his bank wouldnt cash, the call to local police, multiple trips to and from his bank , nor the fact he had to show up personally for his bank to cash the check. Fast forward to today. I am just getting back to the project car, after sitting in storage. I find that the brackets from my radiator/intercooler kit were missing, an $1100 new wiring harness was cut/damaged in multiple spots and missing a critical connector, my engine stand STILL NOT replaced. I dont know if, or what else I will find wrong due to this owner's incompetence and duplicity. I'm pretty sure the owner will jump on here and say I'm lying, however I have ALL the texts and pictures to PROVE all of the OWNER'S lies and shady tactics. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS unless you want shoddy work or no work done at all and be lied to your face. You have been WARNED!

I just tried to get my emissions done and they can't get to whatever it is they have to hook up to because of this. I've had 2 false lockouts because of their inferior work. My 11 year old probably couldve done a better job. Intoxalock customer service is a joke, all they can do is send me a form that they will MAYBE be able to reimburse, not pay for their preferred shop that can't even put it together right. How does an auto place not know anything about cars??? Oh and it takes Intoxalock 24-48 business hours to send an email, which would be a standard form. Seriously??? I can't afford to pay to get this fixed up front. They also expect me to bring it back to the place that has no idea what they're doing to begin with. Now I can't get my emissions done, which means my plates will be bad which means I can still get in trouble driving when the purpose of this horrible device is to keep me out of trouble. I need this fixed like yesterday. Horrible company, and horrible shop. I only used them because they were the closest available at the time to get it done so I didn't lose my driving privileges. I am beyond angry. I always try to be calm and civil with people, but nobody is making this easy. This is not something I should have to pay to fix. I took the best pictures I could but it's even worse than it looks.

I called back to speak to her supervisor and told him it was unacceptable that we could not get our car back today since she told me, I'll call you when it gets here. Making it sound like it was on its way and never once saying it could be a day or so from this morning. So I called back late in the afternoon trying to find out why I haven't heard back and she told me I couldn't get it until tomorrow. I explained that my wife needs it for work tomorrow and why wasn't I told that. She then said she did tell me, which she did not. So after she hung up on me I called back and I asked to speak to her boss. He was no better than she was in rudeness and professionalism. Years ago, I had dealt with them before and now remember what she was like that time too. They may do great work there but I wouldn't know it but I'll tell you what with those attitudes I will never go back there nor recommend them to anyone I know. I have never been treated so poorly by people who want to continue to do business in this town. On day two sometime just after 11 AM the lady from the front desk called with the estimate and we decided not to have the work done, she was angry and upset. I said I was leaving to pick up the car and that's when they told me it was taken to a subcontractor and she'll call me when it's back. I tried to interject that I would go pick it up, but she made it sound like it was already on the way. I was working and lost track of time and it got to be around 5 PM and I called back and she said the car is not there yet and that it would be there tomorrow morning. I told her that was unacceptable, because she knew my wife needed it to see patients as a traveling nurse. She said, I told you I'll call you when it's here and hung up on me. She knew from that morning that my wife was a traveling nurse and had patients to see the next day and needed the car but that didn't matter to her. Day three of dealing with Rich Lucas of Lucas Automotive Specialties and his representative at the front desk. I arrived at 8 AM, and another man was trying to help me but when Rich walked in he said I was wasting his time because I was looking for the best price for the work I want it done to the car and that they don't do estimates unless the work is being done there. (I ask you, what is an estimate for if you're gonna have to have the work done there and you don't have a choice once you get the estimate? No one I've ever dealt with before after getting an estimate done has demanded that I have to work done by them because they did the estimate. That is utter foolishness. So not only is he a mean old man he has deceitful business practices any uses fear and intimidation to try to get you to cave in to his view of things. We weren't even told until day two the car was taken to someone else to have the estimate done.) I went there at 8 AM to pick up the car and was told by Rich Lucas I don't listen because they said they would call me and no one called me. I said I understand but we need the car and I'll go pick it up. Rich said angrily, we don't work that way now get the "F" out as he stood up and pointed at the door. I said you're withholding my vehicle from me out of spite because we didn't have the work done here and I don't owe you any money, I'm calling the police. After the police came, he finally said the car would be there at 9 AM. I went back home and picked up my wife so she could leave straight from there. We arrived at around 8:40 AM and by 8:55 AM her car was still not there. At this point she took mine to see her patient and I waited inside where I could continue to watch the parking lot entrance. At around 9:20 AM I saw out of the corner of my eye Rich get up from the front desk and go back into the shop and then a few minutes later he showed up in the parking lot out front with my wife's car. Rich Lucas made me wait an additional 20 minutes, past the time he said the car would be there, knowing he had the car in the back the whole time. When he finally showed up with the car he had come from his back lot of which there is no access, except through the front entrance of which I have been watching since 8:40 AM. This means he is a deceitful, spiteful, lying, cheat. That's just my opinion after dealing with him for three days. It's also my opinion, based on my personal observations that he had my car the entire time and he was just being mean and spiteful.
