I spent a good part of the weekend troubleshooting my Hoover SmartWash, which wouldn't go into "wash cycle." After exhausting all the advice on Hoover and Reddit, I took the machine to All Brands. They took it into the back room, and within 5 minutes it was working--at no charge I'm not sure what kind of magic they employ--the handsome mastiff in the back may play a part--but I will take any malfunctioning cleaning appliance here in the future. This place is awesome . Especially in these times ! They have everything you need , from hand sanitizers , to gloves and masks . Tons of cleaners, , disinfectants , TP , paper towels . They have it all ! I've used this place in the past to rent a floor sander as well , it came with a bucket of all the different grit paper I needed . Would give 10 stars if I could. I know zip about the old canister vacuum cleaner I got from my brother, but I knew the actual vacuuming parts (which the internet tells me are the floor brush and the beater bar) weren't working. Bracing myself for a huge bill, I found All Brands on Yelp and headed to Brighton. Turned out I had pushed the wrong button on the floor brush. The very nice woman who took care of it showed me what was wrong, suggested that I replace the air filter -- it was gross, thanks, bro -- and sent me on my way. Total bill: $3.19. I highly recommend this place for trustworthy, reliable service. They totally exceeded my expectations. My Dyson v7 was pulsating and they took the time to find any possible simple solutions instead of just sending it off for costly repairs. This place was just perfect. Friendly, competent, and quick turnaround. I dropped off my Dyson DC40 for a tune up (the suction had dropped off precipitously). They explained the process and told me that they'd call me if any new parts were required. It didn't need any new parts, just the cleaning, and I picked it up a few days later. Works like a dream! And the cleaners they used to disinfect the machine made my apartment smell great as I vacuumed for the first time when I got home. read more

This place is like a hardware store for vacuums and cleaning products. You walk in and there's shelves of buckets, spray bottles, sponges, etc. I have an old handheld vacuum I got at Target a few years ago. When I needed a replacement bag, I found out that Target doesn't carry it anymore. I checked online, but the shipping cost was just as much as the bag. I finally went to the manufacturer's Web site, which listed All Brands as a supplier. I walked down to Brighton Center and they had just what I needed for under $5. I also just replaced the little rubberband belt for less than $2! read more

As luck would have it, my non-working vacuum cleaner suddenly began working when the guy behind the counter simply turned it on. Rather than make me feel like an idiot, he looked it over and even took time to show me how to use it more efficiently. I fell in love with their humongous, gentle giant of a dog! This shop rocks ... it clearly is set up as a b2b / cleaner supply business but is also consumer friendly. Went there to get my vacuum pipe unblocked, very clear about the price ($15 per hour minimum one hour) and they promptly removed the issue. As we have a dog they also suggested a carpet foam that breaks down animal smells which worked like a charm. Also had a very friendly giant old dog that they let me pet. No complaints at all, & these guys clearly knew their stuff. read more

I used them a lot a few years ago. I had an old Hoover vacuum, picked up on the street, and held together with duct tape. They kept it going for years, and never tried to sell me a new one. I think I was the one who finally gave up on it, not them. I bought the new one they recommended. Not an expensive one. When it stopped working the other day I was thrilled to find they were still in business. I thought someone had told me they were closed. It turned out there was nothing wrong with it.Probably it just got plugged and overheated. I bought some bags. They didn't charge for the "repair". You can always trust them to be honest about whether something is worth fixing, and not to overcharge you. read more

When I suggested to them that I was ready to buy a new vacuum, they urged against it, promising to repair it inexpensively. The last reviewer is right. This place is the best. When my Dyson didn't work I brought it in and they made a minor adjustment and it was good to go. They wouldn't even charge me! Great service for a general repair of a household vacuum.

Horrible customer service. Brought in my vac and the guy didn't really listen to a word I said. Told me three times to take apart and clean the canister and filter when I told him three times that I had. He didn't even open both ends of the canister to see that the tunnels in the filter were clear...just told me it was full of hair and he could clean it for $45. Maybe he thinks women are stupid and incapable. I left and went to Mr. Sweeper Sew and Vac in Waltham and the guy knew immediately from how the vac sounded that there was a small clog in the wand. Charged me only $5 to clear it out. Great customer service, knowledge and listening skills at Mr. Sweeper. read more

An excellent resource. They carry bags and attachments for whatever power-cleaning equipment you have, plus an extraordinary selection of mops, dusters, brushes, etc. If your vacuum cleaner is malfunctioning, it may well be worth repairing (here) instead of replacing. They also repair small gas-powered machines, like blowers and trimmers. Very worthwhile, trustworthy place. Plenty of free parking next door on Wirt Street, next to the police station. read more

I got a white plastic bolt cover from our Kohler toilet stuck in the vacuum hose (don't ask!) and that sucker was not coming out. This was Friday. I was so annoyed....at myself. On Saturday, I called Eureka's customer service line. The website said Saturday/Sunday customer service hours are 10:00 to 6:30, but when I called at 11am...the tape said...call us back during business hours. WHAT!? Luckily, it also said that the local warranty/repair shop was All Brands in Brighton. I go - the very nice guy at the counter doesn't look at me like I'm some idiot - and then he ... idk .... using some vacuum voodoo gets the bolt cover out. It's a very cool shop, and they also had this beautiful, HUMONGOUS doggie. I'll be back. read more

I even called the other day to ask what they thought about a certain type of vacuum and they gave me their honest opinion. Had the vacuum in there 4 months ago and they fixed it but the same problem occurred again so naturally I returned to 'All Brand" to get a quote to fix it again. It took then a week and two days to return my call. They open up the entire vacuum and gave it back in pieces. If the guys are not experience enough to give a knowledgeable quote so that a customer can make a honest decision on whether to fix it then you should not be in the business of fixing vacuums. Don't open the appliance if you don't tend to close it again...and at least tell the customer rather them hiding it in a box when returning it. Honestly goes a long way in business! read more

Our family has done business with All Brands for more than 20 years. Here is the story about twenty years ago we had need for a repair for a Sears brand vacuum. We were recommended to go to All Brands they fixed it quickly and effectively. Fast forward to this month that same vacuum was dead. Looking at on line reviews of various vacuums the inconsistency of reviews did not leave us very confident of the right purchase. We figured that if All Brands was still in business they would be able to tell us which vacuum would be the best. We called and they had the same brand that manufactured our original Sears. The price was the same you would find in a big box store, we got to deal with the owner and even met his mother who dropped by the store. It is rare to find a personable family owned business who will be there for you and had been there for more than 30 years and who will back up what they sell. read more
