New door

Recommended. Easy transaction quality work and fairly priced.. The owner gave me the quote on an insulated door and a worker installed door following week. Both had good attitude.they didn't try to up sale just gave honest options. They hauled off old doors. As a home owner it makes you smile when you make up grades and improvements. Next I'm saving up for side mount door opener.

Damage to the garage door sensor
Karen W.

I was distracted and in a hurry recently and backed out of the garage without straightening the wheel and yikes I hit one of the garage sensors and damaged the right side of the garage. Luckily I backed out slowly. We had to close the door manually until we were able to contact All Bay for repair. They are closed on weekends so I had to wait until Monday morning to call them and they scheduled someone to come that same afternoon. Kevin arrived and I was glad he was the same person who came to our house over 8 years ago! He was able to replace the sensor and straighten up the garage door track but of course I have to find someone to fix the sheet rock. So glad to get the garage door functioning again!

The finished product looks as if it were always meant to be.

Our garage door was installed today and it is awesome. The work was performed professionally and quickly. The door panels and wood framing were exactly as we requested and both far exceeds our expectations. I would highly recommend these folks to anyone.

WARNING: This company installed the *wrong sized* garage door, and did a hack job on the door frame…read moreto try to make up for it, and then even failed at that. Please see the attached pictures and decide if that's something you'd ever want done to your house. If not, STAY AWAY from Local Garage Doors! 1. Our garage door opening is 15'4" across. Despite measuring the opening themselves, Local Garage Doors purchased and installed a door that is only 15' wide, which is 4" too short. Garage doors come in increments of 2". There was no reason to order something too narrow. 2. To make up for the door being 4" too narrow, they nailed 2x4s to the door jamb on either side in order to make the opening more narrow. Really. I'm not making this up. See the pictures. Aside from making it a bit more difficult to park in the garage, it looks terrible, as the 2x4s stick out towards the street because they don't line up with the existing door jamb. This completely unnecessary alteration to the door frame was also unpermitted. At some point when we get this fixed and have the 2x4s removed, I hope there are only nail holes in the door jambs and not any other damage to the door frame. 3. Of course a 2x4 is only 1.5" wide, so they shrunk the opening by 3", leaving the door 1" too narrow. Maybe 1" short is OK if the door is centered, and there's a .5" gap on either side that is covered by moulding. That's not what they did though! On one side the door is lined up with the 2x4, leaving a 1" gap on the other side, that is just *barely* covered by the moulding (that you can stick your finger through), with a section near that top where even the moulding doesn't reach. Again, see the pictures. 4. Oh I haven't even gotten to the part where they mislead us as to what the new door would look like. We said we wanted it to look like our neighbor's door. When they proposed the model they were going to install, and we asked if they could send us a picture of what it would look like, they just sent a picture of that same neighbor's door. Great, we thought, the same model as our neighbors. Our course that's not what it was. It kind of looks the same, but has an additional wood grain appearance that we don't care for. It's also clearly cheaper, judging by the poorly done rough cut of the pieces it's made from (see the picture). We made of number of mistakes in dealing with this company, such as: 1. We trusted them when they told us what the new door would look like. We should have insisted on a photograph from the door's manufacturer. 2. We trusted them to select the correct size door, and did not measure the door opening ourselves and check it against what they put in the contract. When we went back and looked at the estimates we got from two other companies, both of them were for doors that were wide enough for our door frame. Local Garage Doors was the only company that thought it would be cool to install a door that is too narrow. But the biggest mistake of all was doing business with Local Garage Doors in the first place. If we had chosen one of the other companies we got estimates from we would now have a door of the correct size. Instead we have a very costly and time consuming headache.

It is once in a life time opportunity to see a garage door taken down and replaced with a new one. So I sat outside the garage door and watched from beginning to end the whole time Omar worked. I can tell you that the special thing about Omar is how efficient he works. This is a one man company. He does his work all by himself while answering customers calls. One would think that this would distract him from his work. But NO! Because he is so fluent in his tasks on hand being so experienced after working so many years, he didn't miss a beat on his tasks on hand. They got done fast and with proper sequence. It's like he did this without even need to think about it. He completed his work on time too! I think the reason he could charge reasonable price lower than the big companies that have multiple employees to manage is because he is a one man company and he is so efficient that he can pass that efficiency to his customers without sacrificing the quality. I highly recommend Omar.

Our old opener was from 2002 and the gears broke off the belt so the door would not open. Avi came and identified the issue - while we could just replace the belt, the unit was old so we decided to replace the whole thing. At the same time, Avi identified the springs were not installed correctly (too many turns or something) which causes the door to drop / fly up when the latch was not on. He offered to replace the springs too. I just replaced the spring with another company last year so I was surprised to learn they were not installed correctly. We were able to reach a bundled price for replacing the opener and the springs. which seems comparable with other companies. I would use this company's services again.
