Chris came back on 4/14/26 and fully assembled the dryer and got the old Maytag working great with a new motor and blower. No extra charges for the visit/labor. Also he checked my dishwasher and showed me how to clean the food trap and did a quick inspection. Excellent service and we really like Chris and Stellar Appliance Repair! I am old school and do not like discarding and buying new - Chris can work with older mechanical appliances and give you his best opinion on whether to save or replace.

He was courteous and professional on arrival, and sounded like he knew what he was doing. After performing a leak test on both ends of my gas hose, he suggested the issue was likely the large amount of rust that had built up around the connection point and offered to clean it and re-season it. He spent a couple hours cleaning and polishing it and several days after maintenance, I am pleased to say that my oil heat up time has gone down from 2 hours to about 50 minutes; he also explained how and when to perform the maintenance going forward, and recommended the tools and products to do it myself. For my fridge, I've had them replace heat coils and fans when a power out fried that component. This extended the life of my fridge. For my dishwasher, they replaced the motherboard and refunded it and the labor after determining there was an electrical issue that would have cost more to address than purchasing a new machine. I hired Davyd to fix an unusual buzzing noise coming from my dishwasher's motor. He quoted a $79…read morediagnostic fee. He came to my house, a young guy, friendly enough. I asked if he wanted to hear the sound. He did not. I left him to it. 35 or so minutes later, he said that he cleaned debris from the pumps, showed me a shard of glass, and when I listened to it running for a few seconds, the sound seemed to be gone. Great. Then he said it would be $245, his minimum labor charge. That sounded rather steep to me. He lowered it to $220 (after pretending to text a boss, which I don't think he has), but that was still more than I felt was fair for the work he did. The next time I ran a load of dishes the sound was there again. I emailed him, attaching a short video of the noise happening, and he wrote that he would come by to check it out. I asked for times that would work for him, and at that point he stopped replying. After that, I asked for a partial refund. Again, no response. I feel a bit ripped off, paying $220 when the problem wasn't even resolved. So, no, I cannot recommend Davyd/PDX Repair. I suggest looking for a more honorable, experienced appliance repair person, as I will the next time I need one.

Appliance Wizards technician was so knowledgeable and able to diagnose our faulty dispenser. The technician also gave us really good advice on the soap and how to improve performance. Such a refreshing change from A-Fix. We still have to wait for the part to come in but right now I couldn't be happier with their service.
