I am quite disheartened to have to leave this review, as I never want to portray a business in a…read morenegative light; however I feel it important to share an honest experience with this company with supporting documented evidence. Please note that I have reached out to the contractor via text, call, and email regarding my concerns, and I asked to be contacted back so I wouldn't have to leave this review - no response.  The short of it: I spent $1,600 on hardwood floor installation and refinishing in my 84 sq. ft. kitchen. I am extremely disappointed in the project results, my entryway floors were deeply damaged, and the contractor and his assistant are ignoring me. The long of it: I interviewed almost a dozen contractors and was extremely excited to work with Danh. Though there were some minor hiccups due to a language barrier, I felt his intentions were good, he was knowledgeable and experienced, and he was very kind. He actually visited my home twice at my request (first for the initial estimate, and second about a month later to review all the details a few days before the project began). I really appreciated this. This was to be a 3 day project, for which I'd be home the first day, and then out of town the following days while the oil poly dried (didn't want to be around for all the fumes).  Day 1 - Danh and his partner showed up on time with all the supplies, they had a bit of trouble finding parking, but once that was resolved, they got to work right away. However, they did not come with the right equipment to move the fridge and stove as they promised they would. They brought a fleece blanket (thank goodness I had purchased a proper moving blanket for them to use instead), and they did not ensure that the blanket was under all four corners of the fridge. Thus, they dragged the fridge across my entryway and left a 5 foot long gouge in the entryway. Danh assured me he would put a coat of poly on the deep scratch; however being as this was not my first floor refinishing experience, I knew that's not how this works. I told Danh he would have to return after finishing the kitchen to re-sand the damage he created, and reapply the 3 coats of Bona Woodline that were there before. It is the contractor's responsibility to repair the damage they create. This was not done, as you can see in the photos I now have a huge shiny scratch running through my entryway. Day 5 - When I finally heard from Linh, I was told via text that Danh doesn't like to be bothered with the noise of his phone and just wants to get the job done and will send photos afterward. Excuse me? I have absolutely no visibility as to what was going on in my home. That was the last I ever heard from Danh or his assistant Linh. I had to ask my building manager to stop by a week later to make sure everything was all right, and he said it looks like they're finished. This whole time, I am never updated or sent one photo. Day 33 - I returned back home after the holidays to total disappointment. So many corners were cut that I hardly know where to begin. The damage Danh and his partner created in the entryway was not repaired. He slapped some poly on the scratch as if that would fix it. One threshold is chipped so you can hurt yourself if your foot hits it, and the other has piecemeal wood boards showing in the living room due to the inconsistency and fact that it's not even complete. There are dozens of strange black holes in multiple boards in the kitchen. This is likely due to a bad batch of wood, powderpost beetles, or shooting multiple nails because they started the boards from the wrong direction. There are multiple places where the poly has bubbles, is already chipped. There is hair and dust trapped in the poly, and there are rough spots that hurt to walk over. They didn't even use Bona Woodline, but instead a much cheaper poly - I know because I have Bona Woodline in the rest of my place from 6 months ago and it does not look even remotely the same. The shoe moulding was not reinstalled as Danh mentioned he would do. The fridge and stove were left in the entryway and not reconnected as Danh also said he would do. I am beyond upset and truly feel taken for a ride. What I would appreciate as it is only fair - For Danh to fix the thresholds so the 2 match, to replace all the wooden boards with black holes and chips/peeling, to re-sand the kitchen and the entire entryway room that he damaged, and to refinish BOTH rooms with 3 coats of Bona Woodline Satin (I understand this will take 3 days, but this is what I paid for)! It is unacceptable to have zero communication when you've entrusted your home to a contractor, and to then come home to a sloppy, incomplete project, plus extensive damage in a new area of your home. I hope that Danh and Linh will do the right thing and contact me even though I have not heard from them in 4 weeks, and resolve all of these issues so that I can leave an updated, more favorable review.
