First red flag should have been the fact that when I tried to rent a unit and move my stuff in, there was no one physically in the office nor anyone answering the phones even remotely to answer questions and clarify things. Second red flag was that after moving in, the front door's security was broken and literally anyone off the street could access the building. But I desperately needed a place to store my stuff. At the time, I was told the price I had was what would remain for the duration of my renting the unit and the reason that I couldn't get a better price was that it was the summer, and that the lower prices are in the winter. Accordingly, I was shocked to find my price increased, and more so, without any warning. I was told a notice was mailed, but to this day, I NEVER got such a notice. I called customer service, the national number, and was told to get in touch with the physicial store I was at because they don't have control over that. I asked, what is the purpose of the customer service line if they can't help provide service or resolution to issues, they said "we're just here for security issues." the fact the price increased during the winter months, which are notorious for having cheaper prices, makes no sense. Speaking with other customers at that location, who had rented units for over a year, they told me their price they had never changed, so it's incredibly out of the norm that my unit increased. Also, this is more than likely a health hazard. There was a dead bird in front of one of the units that was there for a couple months, indicating no one is cleaning the floors or doing any sort of inspection in the building.

We put our stuff in the unit in the middle of June and went to remove it in October, so less than 6 months. Mice had made a nest in the couch and it was covered in mouse poop on the outside. The floors of the entire unit had a ton of mouse poop. We pulled the couch out and a roach immediately came crawling out from in the cushions. As we moved our furniture out, there were more and more roaches coming out. The staff came and looked and said "ew that's gross, sorry! I tell you what, you don't have to sweep it out when you leave, we will do that for you" And that was it. We brought our boxes home and every one we opened had roach poop everywhere. At least half the boxes had roaches still in them. Since moving all the boxes out we have still had roaches in our new house that no doubt came from our boxes. It is DISGUSTING. We threw away the couch but brought our love seat home. We saw no signs of any poop or anything on it. The first time we opened the foot rest and closed it back, the carpet was covered in mouse poop so clearly it was all just on the inside of the loveseat. We had insurance on the unit but guess what they don't cover? I'm fact I'm not sure why anyone pays for insurance because it covers almost nothing. When I talked to the Manager she told me there is nothing they can do about mice and roaches. When I talked to the District manager she told me the same and said someone must've brought them from their home in their boxes and put them in a nearby unit and they crawled from there into our unit. She added it's the risk we take by putting our stuff in storage. If I wanted pests in our stuff I could've just left it all outside and saved our money. I feel it should be common sense that I expect my stuff to not be infested within 4 months. I was hoping they would make this right but I apparently paid $130 a month to ruin our things.
