I booked a room at the All American Inn (JBMDL / McGuire AFB area) for the entire month of March while attending school on official TDY orders. Everything was fine until day 9, when my team leader informed me that some class members might be asked to leave. There was no prior official notice from the inn--no email, no call, no memo. I proactively went to the front desk to inquire, and they confirmed I would be required to vacate. This was the first major issue: I was on official military TDY orders with a confirmed month-long reservation, yet the inn decided to terminate my stay with almost no warning and forced me (and others) to scramble for alternative lodging mid-course. This is unacceptable for any DoD lodging facility supporting active-duty training. The second, even more frustrating issue was the complete inconsistency and poor communication from staff: - I was told to check out by 11 AM the next day, so I spent the entire night packing and urgently searching for a new place (thankfully, I found one off-base). - Other classmates received wildly different timelines: some were given 72 hours, others until Friday that week, and at least one person was told they wouldn't be evicted at all. - By the time things settled, many of us had already checked out and relocated under stress and last-minute pressure. The lack of clear, uniform communication turned an already demanding course into a logistical nightmare. We were already dealing with class stress, long days, and the need for reliable rest--only to face sudden uncertainty about where we'd sleep. This was hands-down the worst experience I've had at any Air Force inn or DoD lodging facility. The rooms themselves were adequate (typical military lodging standard), but the front desk management and eviction process were disorganized and disrespectful to service members on official orders. I hope leadership reviews this and prevents it from happening to future TDY students. Would not recommend until these communication and reservation reliability issues are fixed. read more

A very nice on-base "hotel" at Joint Base McGuire. Making a reservation was very easy over the phone. Arrived at the base, and the gate sentry gave me easy to follow directions. Check in was quick and efficient. The room is great! Clean, good sized, comfy bed. They even have breakfast in the morning, which was quite the pleasant surprise! All for $105. I stayed overnight at the All American Inn recently on a business trip. It is on an Air Force Base. All vehicle occupants must show a guard their government employee/military IDs upon entrance to the base. I stayed in the hotel's main building. My bedroom was updated and smelled clean. There was no mildew or moisture. The room temperature was preset on cool on a hot summer day. I never had to adjust the temperature of the air conditioner. Sink and shower water ran clear and were at the proper temperature for each use. ***MAKE A RESERVATION FOR A HOTEL ROOM THAT IS LOCATED IN THE MAIN BUILDING***. Those co-workers of mine who stayed in the other buildings complained about outdated rooms and inconsistent water temperature. Some say that they had to use the shower before 6 a.m. to get hot water; otherwise, they would be taking a cold shower. The refrigerator kept my groceries nice and cold. There was a microwave and a coffee maker that I did not need to use. There are plenty of places to eat on and off base. There is a cafe that is open only during the day. It sells breakfast food and Starbucks drinks. We had an evening BBQ under the gazebo outside the hotel, so bring some food to grill. Staff were friendly and professional. Check-in and check-out lines moved quickly. No hotel tax is charged for lodging. I took a star off because some of my co-workers had an unsatisfactory guest experience, staying in the older buildings. read more

Boo! This place blows. I ended up staying here for a month long TDY. They put me up in one of the outer buildings (2706). It was not a good experience. From first check in you think it's going to be an ok stay. That's because you check into what seems to be an up to date main building. I didn't stay in there so I can't talk to it. Instead I was sent over to the outriggers. The building was very old and it showed in every aspect. The furniture was old, rooms were clean but just seemed filthy due to severe old age. The building still has a phone booth inside it. For the room, VERY hot. This is due to standard AF using arbitrary midevil logic to determine when to turn the AC off and the heat on. So even though outdoor temps in October were up near 80, the heat was on. You have no control over the temp in the room. It's either on or off. Even when you turn it off the pipes still radiate the heat since it flows through the whole building. The only fix is to open the single window wide open and hope you can somehow bleed off enough heat to be able to sleep. There is a small mini fridge with freezer and a coffee maker (mine didn't work). I lost hot water in the room one day, then all water another day. One day while in the shower, the water sputtered and then came out poop brown. All the water then ran that way for a day. I then lost water again for a bit. The housekeeping seemed spotty. Sometimes they would come in and make the bed, sometimes change out towels, sometimes just pick the ones up off the floor and fold them and hang them back up. Sometimes they would actual clean. For $94 dollars a night you would expect a lot more. I stayed at a very nice Sheraton in Baltimore for $82 a night. But let's be honest, you stay here because you are told to & not because you want to. With any luck you might get into the main building. If not then expect a fairly not good stay. read more

Left a beautiful black lace lingerie, plus we left a small tip. I called the front desk. They were polite, enquired with housekeeping, and housekeeping manager stated nothing was found. The main hotel building where the lobby is located is nice and you check-In thinking you'll get a decent room. But then they send you to the old buildings located in the back which look like it hasn't been updated since the 80s. Very misleading! It's very dark back there by the buildings and a bit scary. Inside smells like mildew and very old. The floors make noises and there is an old phone booth frame still there. I got stuck in the building without an elevator so I had fun carrying my 50 lb suitcase up the stairs, which was very dark as well.. a perfect place for a crime to happen. No thermostat in my room. Good 'ol floor/wall heating. My room didn't have a bath, just a shower. The good thing is, there was a hair dryer provided. There's fridge and microwave as well. I still haven't seen a soul in this building since I've been here. Kinda eery. I found excuses to drive around base so I wouldn't have to come back to this depressing room. read more

Checked in 6-17-18 at 10pm. My room looked as if it had not been cleaned in days! Absolutely the dirtiest place I've ever seen. If I had not been so tired from an 8 hour drive to get here I would have left. The first thing I saw was a huge garbage bag in the middle of the room full of at least 4 pizza boxes, which I threw into the hallway because of the smell. I had to request fresh towels, sheets, pillow cases, and a blanket. I had to make the bed and remove items from the shower before I dared use it. If your disabled or have a lot of luggage then your in luck! This is a 4 story building with no elevator. Also the immediate parking in front of the building is permanently blocked off, so good luck with the 80 yard stroll. Prior to my arrival I called to verify the address and was put on hold for 15 mins. I hung up and called back only to be placed on hold for another 10 mins. When time was finally made to speak to me (25 mins later) the person complained about being overwhelmed speaking to people and it was only 9 am at that point. The room layout, paint, carpet, and furniture is very very dated. My 80 year old grandparent have more modern taste! No workout room or pool on the premises. The room safe did not work, the center overhead light does not work, and the bed is hard as a rock. read more

Decent place to stay, they're open 24hrs. The service could be improved a little. I've never really had a great experience here but no bad ones either. The staff could be nicer to their military affiliated customers. The rooms are mediocre and could use some upgrading however I've never had any serious issues with my room when I'm here. You have to book in advance if you want to be in the good buildings. The older ones aren't as nice to stay in. The newer ones have a kitchenette and a stove, so I've heard. This is my place of preference when I'm visiting here partly because it's close to where I need to be and partly because it's paid for by my unit. The main building has a small Starbucks store, there's laundry units and plenty of parking as well as multiple entry and exit points. read more

So I am staying on McGuire for work for just a few days and DTS put me here. I didn't think too much about it, the Air Force usually has pretty great accommodations. Not these days, my friends! I check in on a sunny October day that was unusually warm (record warmth, actually), but the lobby was nice and cool. The receptionists were nice. They even had delicious cookies for sale. I get my room in another building (2708). I head that way. When I opened the door I was hit with LITERALLY a wall of heat. It was like maybe 110 degrees in the room. I quickly opened the window and made sure the heater was off. Called the front desk and they say "oh yeah all the AC is off, just make sure your windows are open" WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY? First, you didn't tell me that when I got the room OR when I checked in, and your recommendation is to.....open the windows?! Well it's basically the sun outside so it didn't help. At night it was like being in a crockpot. You just laid on top of your bed sheets and sweat all night. Well no, of course you couldn't get sleep because in addition to dying of heat exhaustion, PLANES LAND AND TAKE OFF ALL NIGHT LONG. You don't sleep. Not at all. There is no getting used to the sound of a bulldozer taking off in your ear canal. Don't stay here. Please whatever you do go to a private hotel chain and spend the extra cash. read more

Great Place on BASE, came here during the winter 2014 and it was awesome! I stayed at building 2078 something like that but it was nice, king size bed, nice room, refrigerator, Free Wi-Fi you just need to call them for access. Bathroom is a little small but it worked out for me, TV is HDMI "friendly" if any of you know what that means then your set ;) I was paying $50 a night. I heard there are upgrades for bigger families where it's an actual apartment with a kitchen, but you can call to find out. There's a welcome and please use that to order food since there aren't that many places to order from or you can always use Yelp ;) Parking is alright there's a lot of people so to get parking in front is pretty tough. I normally don't have any complaints about military "hotels". They are always up to standards, always clean and I feel good staying there. Unlike Dover air force inn, I felt like this one was .. less clean. I know the apartment itself was indeed clean and all, and the main reason I think I had the feeling it wasn't was because of a super stained bedroom carpet. Beside having "that" feeling, it's a good room for a good price. I called it apartment earlier because that's basically what it is. A full kitchen, a dining table, sofa bed (with an un-sleepable mattress), and a bedroom with a queen (?) Size bed. They don't have cribs but offer pack'n'plays in the room, also have a highchair. I could see it being a good place for a longer stay, but maybe not for a family with two small kids. I wish they would offer two queen or one king due to having one baby sleeping in bed but I guess that's what the sofa bed is for. Should check those mattresses so they are okay to sleep on. For 60 something dollars this is not a shabby deal, and I can live with having that feeling if it's only for a night. read more

This is actually my second time here m. It's a nice little spot. They get big ups for letting me C heck in after midnight. I literally called right before my flight took off and explains the situation and she said no problem well boo you for today and check you out tomorrow. Great I mean great customer service. The shuttles on post have been stopped permanently so I called the hotel and they sent someone to pick me up. AWESOME!!! My only complaints are the damn heater was on 1000 and I couldn't turn it off. The second thing is the towels HURT and the pillows are super hard and lumpy. It's nothing major I still slept pretty darn amazing. Oh keep in mind there's no free breakfast but there is a little cafe inside that seven breakfast. All in all a great stay. read more

The main hotel where you check in looks like a great place to stay, but the problem is that there are 3 buildings behind it that are also considered part of the hotel and they're basically old motels. Your room reservation may also put you on the Fort Dix side of post, which happened to a few of our colleagues and was inconvenient. I stayed in one of the motel buildings and I had bugs in my room, an AC unit that had a broken knob so temperature was stuck on freezing or off, and the WiFi access was worthless. There's also no continental breakfast as most military hotels provide. Wouldn't stay here again if I had a choice. read more

Not bad for a military contract hotel. However, during my two week stay, the a/c went down twice, and the electricity cut off once. Those inconveniences are not as irksome as the laziness of the cleaning staff. These ladies look for any excuse to avoid having to clean the rooms. After a few days of not having my room cleaned, I dumped the piles of accumulated garbage outside my room, and when the cleaning staff came around, I insisted that they clean despite their sophisticated tactics to convince me otherwise! Improved professionalism and customer service would be appreciated. If I see that, I may even leave a tip. read more

so so so awful. i was here for my partners drill weekend, and from the start the service was awful. i wouldn't be writing a review if it weren't for the people rushing me out the door during check out. other surrounding hotels and motels didn't do this to us, and i was left to carry 75+ pounds of luggage down the stairs because my partner was working, only left to realize there was no front desk in the building. so i was left sitting in this outdated, hot as ever lounge until he got his lunch break and then had to sit in his car for hours until his shift ended. god forbid i was there to pack up his stuff to leave, they would have charged him for another day. this is a terrible way to treat members of the military and their families. also, since i had to call to check us out since he was actively working, they said they had to notify the base that he had an "unauthorized guest" with him, even though i had been with him multiple times before and the people checking him into the base had no issues at all with this. the rooms had no freezer, no temperature control, horrible water pressure, and just about everything was outdated. if you have a choice, pick elsewhere because they are beyond rude here. read more

This has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and I've been in a lot of MOTELS and this place is worse first strike there was no water for two days because of some water main break 2. there are flies or other weird insects all over my room 3. There was no cable for 4 days and counting. So when I'm done with my training what else am I to do I can't watch tv because the cable is messed up and last but definitely not least 4. The Internet is horrible I tried my best to use the Internet minimally but without cable what am I suppose to do? Bottom line this place is crappy luckily for them this is the only plAce that could accept my 40A because I would gladly stay in Bordentown over this place like I do during any UTA training. read more

This is a nice military hotel with lots of value and terrific central location. Came here for official TDY travel and had made reservations via telephone about four weeks in advance. I made three reservations at the same time and one of my party members had to be lodged on the Ft. Dix side, which was a bit inconvenient as we had one rental car. The room was ok, but showed signs of wear and tear. I was most dissappointed in that there was no in-room WiFi internet available. Free WiFi is pretty much totally standard these days and was surprised that it was not available on an Air Force installation which are typically known to have a lot of comfort options. Still, the front desk staff were especially helpful and professional and the lobby was well appointed and comfortable. read more

DOD lodging. 75.00 got me a very nice room which was huge and like an apartment with all of the same amenities.

I booked this facility online... not a good experience. AF Lodging website is not friendly at all. The room offerings on the website were enlisted/officer/senior civ(DV) but were all listed at $60. I reserved a room for a senior enlisted (my retired grade) but apparently should have reserved under my wife who is a retired executive which may have provided for a better room even though they were all the same price. On arriving, there was a price list at the counter that conflicted with the online pricing. I didn't ask about it as I had a room reserved. There was no basic information like check-in/out times so when I arrived at 1300, was told check in time is 1500 and room isn't ready to come back at 1500. No prob, but it would be good to know when actual check out is. Also was surprised there is no free breakfast! Come on, this is 2017 and most hotels in the world offer free breakfast! Look up IHG Army lodging. It's pretty standard across the industry. But not here. There is nothing on the AF Lodging site that there is more than 1 bldg. I was housed in 2704, a short walk away from the main bldg. No big deal, but it would be good to know this basic information. The room was very small and the shower was VERY small. The towels were nothing like soft hotel towels. This looks like a complaint that spans years so possibly reviews don't cause any response. The bldg was clean but old and sorely in need of renovation. The person upstairs walking across the floor sounded like they were stomping in heavy boots but clearly were not, it was just the very thin floor/ceiling. The only fix is a renovation. It did appear the wifi was fully functional in 2407 (there were several strong wifi signals available) and the cable TV was working well. I was also surprised to see an airman working the counter. If this is a contract hotel why would the taxpayers pay for a contract and also pay for an airman to work for the contractor? Maybe that's not the case but it's not clear. The only advantage for this facility is location. We were attending a function nearby and it was worth staying here to be close. If you're stuck here for military lodging due to work, well, sorry. If you have a choice I would suggest you look in to off-base lodging. read more

Was on hold for 30 minutes to make the reservation Check in took nearly another hour, which was nothing compared how much time i wasted trying to connect to what little wifi they have, only to discover it was too slow to support Netflix or even YouTube. As a military traveler, I'm forced to stay in the on base hotels, which is the only explanation how a place with service this poor stays in business. read more

We were waiting for housing and spent a month here very grateful for the great stay we had. The All American was very disappointing this was second time staying there and I hopefully I am never TDY at this installation again. I arrived late after an eleven hour drive, went to the main building to check in. My first room was in building in 2708 one of the older buildings of course. There was a roach running around the room, second room same building had mold in the bathroom sink and floor. I immediately told the manager to not put me in that building, finally got a room in building 2784, did a walk through with the staff there was a used rag from the previous stay and hair on the bathroom door. However being so tired from the drive I just took the room. I did not see house cleaning for two days (although I made my own and kept the room clean). I guess if you are not in the Air Force you will not get a decent room, as a service member I have seen worse, however I did not have to pay for those barracks. It is a hotel that was paid for and not free, I expected a little better. Despite issues with the room, the staff was pleasant. read more

I am not a military personnel, just family. I stayed here for 2 nights to visit and this was my first time staying on base. The price is very affordable ($60/night), so I know not to expect much. Room size and bathroom was fine (standard), though it did have a musty/old/smokey smell. My issue was that I was told the entire building only has a heating or cooling option. Since it is fall/winter, the heat was on. The room was 80 degrees when I got there, and it was cool fall day, so opening the window wide open only got it to eventually 77. With leaving the window open, I have to put the blinds down or else everyone can see my room clearly since I am on ground level (so airing it was difficult). The base has a 6AM base-wide trumpet wake up call, so you can imagine how loud it was with the window open! After that, the maid comes knocking at 8am. The walls are thin so I can hear people upstairs walking and people talking in the hall late at night. So it's clear to say it was difficult to get much sleep. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. 1.5 hr wait on the phone just to book. Upon arrival, I was notified I'd be staying in "the newly renovated" lodging building on Fort Dix. The building is lipstick on a pig. 1940s era, complete with brown water from the faucets. Housekeeping comes when they want to. On 7 days of my 2 week stay they never showed up (no, I didn't have my sign on the door). We have the most technologically advanced fighting force the world has ever seen, but basics like reliable wifi are apparently impossible to field (lots of us need it to work on a VPN connection). On my last week there was a lightning storm that knocked power out to the building (act of God, I get it). I called and they promised they would send maintenance. Maintenance never showed. Promise number 1 not kept. I called again after three hours and was told maintenance doesn't work after hours. What? I received a call 30 min later saying they would actually have maintenance over to fix on an emergency basis. Maintenance never showed. Promise number 2 not kept. I called in the morning and was told that if I called back around lunch, they'd switch me to another room. I called and was told "sorry, due to a change of command, there are no rooms available". Promise number 3 not kept. I asked for a non-availability slip and was told sorry, theres nothing available off base either. Got a fridge full of $100 worth of spoiled groceries, and a cave with a bed in it that I'm paying over $70 a night to stay in. I just cant get housekeeping to show up and take my trash away. If you have any other options for lodging, don't even think twice about it. This base has the most poorly run lodging I've ever experienced, and I've been to many. It's an excellent example that underlines the need for privatized hotels on base. read more

DOD Lodging at $56/night over Columbus Day weekend 2013. Govt cost-savings measures can be incompatible with weather. Room heating system not responsive to manual 80F setting when overnight temperatures dipped below 60F. Housekeeping staff puts up reminders to use towels several times before treating like a hotel. Initial complement of towels fit two occupants (OK), but one or two towels disappeared while occupant was not in the room (and housekeeping staff should have been the only others with access). Rooms provided with mounted electronic-lock safe for valuables-good idea (but check several times that batteries are operational before using). read more
