Needed water heater replaced. They were able to come the next day, took the time to not only do the…read morejob, but to make sure that any previous problems were fixed. They noticed issues with placement and exhaust, and they corrected these and let me know about their fixes to prevent future problems. Very kind people. Water is now easier to control the temperature of, and I have the peace of mind that the water is now clean and that I shouldn't have to worry about the water heater for quite some time! Pricing is what it is, not their fault everything is as expensive as it is right now.

I contacted Grateful Plumber through Yelp's project feature. I noted that they were a plumber that…read morequalified for Yelp's guarantee program, a neat program that I've fortunately never had to use. I did my initial contact outside of business hours. Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. That's 5-star for me and another winner for Yelp's project feature.

Routine inspection of my furnace found a capacitor that was starting to show signs of going out of…read morespec. Was told the part was under warranty, but the part would be $280 to install. The technician had the part already in his hand, and it is a plug and play part, which may at most cost $5. This is horrible business practice, and I will no longer be doing business with Plumbing Heating Paramedics. This company promotes pulling a fast one on their customers, as Wayne the tech mentioned to me he knows the part is very inexpensive, yet still chooses to work for this company, and then was attempting to force his religeon on me by saying I would be finding Jesus some day. BEWARE of this company who trains their employees to follow this poor business practice.

Because I had purchased a furnace from Plumbing and Heating Paramedics and received excellent…read moreservice and a fair price, they were first on my list when I found an outdoor water faucet frozen after the winter's cold weather. A technician came out and inspected it. He said he needed to turn water off to the whole house but probably would run into a problem with the shut off valve, and recommended that be replaced also. The total bill was going to be almost $1000. I wanted to think about it so paid him $85 for a service call and told him I would get back to him in a few days. In the meantime I spoke with a friend who has some plumbing knowledge and he told me how to make the repair. I didn't need to shut off the water at all. It cost me less than $6 and took about 5 minutes. I definitely feel I this technician was trying to swindle me. I called the owner and asked to speak with him to give him a chance to rectify the situation, but after leaving a message because he wasn't available never got a return call. I would avoid these people because now I sincerely questioned their honesty and/or competency.

The work performed seems to be functional. The price was high for the job and came in almost…read more$300.00 over the estimate. There were no other plumbers available in a reasonable time frame and the house was unlivable until the work was completed. The personnel on site demanded immediate payment before they left the property without allowing time for the work to be inspected or sending a detailed invoice. Edit: Thank you for the reply, the review stands as written. There were three estimates. The second was verbally approved. The third reflecting the price increase was received by the homeowner sometime after crews were at the house performing work. The 15' of pipe outside the home was excavated prior to your arrival. There was no need for heavy equipment for the few additional inches of soil removal required when the original pipe was pulled. The initial excavation took less than 1 hour by hand. We were told your workmen would "need several hours to fill the excavation" without using heavy equipment (despite you being asked to leave the excavation open). I would suggest you hire workers who know how to use a shovel or listen to the requests of the homeowners. Yes, there were shoddy plumbing repairs under the home done by a previous owner that will be addressed in time. The immediate job did not require changes to those areas. As far as communication, the individual who phoned multiple times during the workday was more concerned with expressing his opinion than listening. All in all, this was a frustrating experience and we will not be repeating this mistake. By the way, it pays to be suspect of any company with only 5 star online reviews.
