I was really pleased with the customer service here. I have an old, picky cat who was rejecting most of her food. They recommended some options and she's eating again. Very happy. A wide range of pet products, convenient location in Columbia County with easy parking. Some of the food costs can be high, but worth it for the quality. I loved this store.....coming in from Portland to go to my son's. But the dry dog food 2.5lb. bag I bought 1 month before went from $18.95 to $25 and the small cans 5.2 oz went up to $3.00. I prefer to not to go to the large pet stores. I was so disappointed to see this huge increase. read more

I went into the store looking for products for my dog. I took my dog with me to make sure the various products fit her properly. I found two things that I wanted, stood near the cash register area, and watched one of two fellows who worked there try to get his cash register up and running. Something was wrong with it. Hmm.... he told the other guy that he would go feed fish or something. He didn't attempt to help anyone in the store and there were a lot of folks in there. I felt invisible. I went to the fellow with the working cash register and waited my turn for help. Meanwhile, people had to wait. This store has become a joke. Customer service sucks. Good workers who had worked there in the past no longer are there and I will not go in there. I'll travel to Beaverton or elsewhere. I rather buy off of Amazon than to be ignored in a store. read more

I edited my previous 2-star review, because lately I feel the service has better from the staff, I see more of the same people repeatedly, and I do feel like their aquatic section is well cared for, which is surprising sometimes in pet stores, but obviously they have some knowledgeable aquatic experts. Lupe is very knowledgeable. I appreciate that one time we pointed out that one of the male bettas had jumped across the barrier and gotten in with another, the young gentleman working there that day immediately grabbed a net and fished the intruder out. He didn't say "Oh I'll get to it in a minute," even though he was in the midst of bagging some fish for some other customers. I had a bad experience with a young woman who tried to shove my reactive dog into a harness and was just really a terrible experience for my dog and I and we were both shaking when we left, but that girl no longer works there. There frequently is a change of faces of staff. But that's the store's problem I guess. I wish they had more decor for aquariums. And I wish they carried Stella and Chewy kibble, they only carry the other products by that brand, On the plus side, they have better than expected hours, being open 7 days a week is appreciated, and later than necessary on week days. read more

Went in to buy some chicks they had in the front window. Picked out the ones we wanted. They said we could not buy them for 48 hours(Sunday). Ok . We left. Came back Sunday morning. This small town pet store is one of my dog's favorite places to visit. First she is always welcome. Big plus in her book. They have things at her height level so if she wants something she is free to take it to the register. Another big plus in her book. The staff is extremely helpful. They helped me outfit my dog with rain gear that fit her. She wasn't too happy about that one. I also have a very shy cat that they helped me pick out a cat tree for and it was on sale plus they had an internal sale on top of the sale price. I couldn't get this tree online for cheaper. No way. My kitty absolutely loves her Christmas present. The food they sell here is actually good for our animals. My dog was so picky I couldn't get her to eat kibble. I had to cook for her. (I rarely cook for myself and I cook for my pet! Ugggghhh) With their return policy being as excellent as it was, we were able to find a kibble that she would eat and I feel good about the food she is eating. I don't worry about additives and poisons that can end up in their food due to laxed and inferior product manufacturing from other countries. To summarize...Fantastic and helpful staff, wide selection for all kinds of pets, pretty average prices and excellent sales. Fantastic return policy, Quality food and very pet friendly. So I had told myself that I wouldn't go back to this shop, but two years later my wife said she was going there to get some scooby snacks for our dog and asked me to go along. While she went to the dog treats, I decided to get some more plants for my aquarium. I found a couple I liked but the sales person in the fish room was busy talking to someone and the conversation seemed to be taking a long time. I walked around the corner to the cashier table and the person there was busy writing in a notebook. The plants were in a shallow aquarium in the center of the room, so I decided to just reach in grab the plants I wanted and take them to the cashier. Well that was the point I got caught and verbally spanked by another salesperson walking through the area. She kept walking and began hanging poodle sweaters on the wall. My wife got the dog treats and waited with me for a while. The sales person in the fish room was still talking about snails with a customer, the cashier had customers lined up and the high priority sweaters were still being hung. My wife paid for the treats and we left. How hard would it have been for the sales person to say "let me get those for you" instead of reprimanding then ignoring me. read more

Zero stars for bad customer service. The female employee, who is in the store staff picture, was rude. We went to buy Scratch and Peck layer feed no corn. I called ahead and spoke with the owner who said she thinks it's no corn but she didn't know. When the owner of the store doesn't know the product(s) she is selling that is a huge red flag. We arrived at the store and we went to look at the feed. They have Scratch and Peck and the label does not say Corn so there is no corn. Anyone who uses or understands this brand should know this. Also this is the only chicken feed I saw today at this store. There is no Purina or other brands like at Wilco. We went to the cashier and told her we wanted Scratch and Peck layer. Without saying anything, she left and returned with a 40lb bag of the chicken feed and threw it on the counter. I was aghast and felt bad she had to go back and get the feed. I asked her if they have any codes they use so they don't have to go get the large bag of feed. I told her normally the store we go to we tell the cashier what we want and it's rung up and we meet the employee at the car and it is loaded. She looked at me with a flat emotionless affect and did not apologize for the inconvenience but became defensive and said "Those are small stores" and this store couldn't keep track of all the codes for their products. I paid for the feed and she said flat affect "Thank you" indicating she was under no circumstances going to load this in our car. So let me get this right, in order to buy a 40lb bag of feed I have to haul it to the register (there are no store carts) have the cashier ring it up because there are no codes and then haul it to my car? I can't just pick up the feed and haul it to my car then pay at the register because they have no codes. This is terrible customer service. Several red flags with this. I'm sure the female employee just couldn't wait to get back to her Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. There were no other customers in the store. She couldn't take the time to help us get this product to our car. If you want bad customer service, employees who don't care, and a store owner plus employees who don't know their products then visit this store. If this is not something you feel comfortable with then go to Linnton where they have the best garden/feed/farm store. Excellent customer service there. We are not giving our hard earned money to this store again. Linnton is out of our way and so is Wilco Longview/Cornelius but we would rather support stores who value good customer service than those that don't. I don't think the store owner or the employees will care about this review but I hope you will. read more

I love this store. I always come in here just to check out their amazing selection of animals. They also have a good selection of pet supplies for fish, dogs, cats, small animals such as rabbits/guinea pigs, and reptiles. All that being said, every time I go in there I have an unpleasant experience with the workers! For the most part their fine, but EVERY.TIME I come in someone has a snotty attitude. I've learned to stop asking questions and keep to myself because of the short answers I get in response. Could just be me ‍ **update - I was reading through the reviews and was saddened to hear how many people have had a bad experience with the customer service. I was also ANGERED with the responses the OWNER has to her customer reviews. Just an FYI - NEVER attack your customers or assume the problem is TEHIR fault and not your store or your employees. read more

I love this little pet store! Such a good rotating selection of treats and toys. While temporarily staying with my family who lives up the street, I visit here with my pup a few times a week for everything from rawhides to raincoats. The prices are comparable to any other corporate pet store, which is rare because normally independently owned businesses like these are typically more expensive overall. And the girls that work there are so sweet and personable. Also I found out today while waiting in line to check out, that they now do home delivery for customers. And I think if I overheard correctly, delivery is free over $50 :) read more

I bought a dog harness that did not fit my dog well. I attempted to exchange it for an identical one that was a size smaller. I could not find my receipt, but had paid for it on my credit card. I was told that I could not exchange it. Note, I did not use the harness, it was still brand new, and I only wanted a change in size. The girl at the counter said that unless I could find my receipt, I could not exchange it. She offered no other solutions for me, and obviously did not care. I lost $29.00. This had been a convenient place for me to shop for dog supplies. However, I will not give my business to a store with such unfriendly customer service again. I will shop in Portland. read more

Small town pet stores are always the best and this is one of them. Prices are average and the owner and staff are VERY friendly and always helpful. They have a large selection of about everything you can think of in pet supplies, also have a small fish and reptile section. They trim my poms nails for free when I bring her in and also have a dog washing center and grooming available. read more

If you've forgotten what customer service is, drop in to All About Pets. They have the friendliest, most knowledgeable, most helpful staff I've seen in a very long time. I've been in 4-5 times now, and each time, whether a weeknight or a busy Saturday, I was treated as if I were the only customer there. They make helpful suggestions without pushing them at you and they have an amazing variety of items for a relatively small store. I'm really impressed with the variety of premium foods they stock. This is a really wonderful store where the staff is super helpful and the variety of foods is outstanding. They don't sell any crap - the stuff they have is TOP quality, AAA rated, non-biproduct, food, etc. and they sell the most holistic and organic brands of dog food. They are always willing to help and are never too busy to give you personal attention and answer ALL your questions - even though they are always busy doing stuff. went in on the 11th and had my two dogs fitted for a harness. i was advised the correct harnesses needed to be ordered, and would be in by the 16th or 17. also, i would be called. on the evening of the 17th i called and was advised the order "may" have been placed, and if so, the harnesses would now arrive no later than the 23rd, and i would be called. i called on the 23rd, and was told the order was not in. i was told a manager would call me back before close of business - i have yet to receive a call. in summation, i was told the owner handles all the special orders, and the owner was not available for at least a week or more. additionally, i have been provided different stories and have not received the promised call back. ** very disappointing service by managers and owners ******** on the upside, the sales girl on the 11th was very nice and helpful. read more

Any time I have gone in to this store I've had a pleasant experience. If I ask any of the employees a question they've got an answer and if they don't, they ask someone else who knows. This store lost my business today. I am all for supporting local businesses, but not when they are quick to accuse customers of being criminals and refused service. I have been coming here for nearly a year since moving to Scappoose. Today, when making a routine dog food purchase, the assistant manager Charles refused my payment method, telling me it was "illegal to use a credit card that is not in my name to pay for anything". (A fact that is incorrect, as the card member services for the credit card were able to tell me that as an authorized user, I am in fact allowed to pay with the credit card.) The only reason I went through with my purchase tonight, was that I needed the dog food tonight, and by the time I got to any other pet store, they would likely be closed. But since Charles was so quick to accuse me of being a criminal and committing credit card fraud, I will be very happy to take my business elsewhere. I would figure after coming here nearly twice a month for a year would have local business owners recognizing their customers, and their payment methods (which, for the record, has been accepted every other time but tonight, and by him on numerous occasions), but I guess I was proven wrong. read more

I was on the hunt for a particular dog toy and couldn't find it anywhere. I went into All About Pets and noticed they carried the brand of toy I was looking for, but not the specific toy. When I asked if they carried it, the young woman said they did not anymore but they might be able to order one for me. So I left my phone number and about a week later, they called and had the toy on hold for me! My fetch obsessed pup absolutely loves her Jolly Egg! Thank you, thank you, thank you All About Pets!
