Stopped by for the launch party today for the Edgewater location!…read more Location is super convenient (in the Trader's Joe strip mall, diagonally opposite TJ's on the other side of the parking lot) which I think fixes the parking issue their fort lee location sort of had sometimes, and it is on the second floor overlooking the Manhattan view right across- talk about good vibes! We spoke to the owner instructor Zeni, and her positive, warm yet determined energy was very appealing to us. We already attend yoga once a week at another studio but we're looking to add another routine during the week close by, and Pure Bliss Yoga definitely fits the bill! She said they're on ClassPass though capacity on the platform is rather limited - but she said she'll work on that. There were dozen plus yoga instructors there to celebrate and some 30-40 people joined in a blessing ceremony wearing white and yellow for good luck, and we enjoyed some good horderves. We will certainly be seeing you soon Zeni! Congratulations on opening!

I've been coming to Pure Bliss for a long time and I love all the staff here. I think they do a…read moregreat job with their programming. They often do special events like sound baths and belly dancing among others. Once or twice a year, they host a yoga retreat abroad. This year was to India. They also offer yoga teacher training here. Many of the people who train here actually go on to teach here too. They recently added some new staff from Bamboo Moves, which recently closed down, so they'll be expanding their schedule. My one issue with Pure Bliss is that, because they have so many teachers, there tends to be a lot of variability with the classes. Pure bliss taught by one teacher may be entirely differently than the same pure bliss class with someone else and the difficult level varies tremendously. In general, it's all levels class, but someone's it can be more challenging based on who's in the room and other times it can be very gentle. As I've developed in my practice, I intentionally try to take the classes that will challenge me more. Lateefah, Zeni, Brian and Andrea are good for this. Brian emphasizes more flow in his class. The others are a good mix of both flow and postures. Nancy is good too if you want a more athletic class, but not necessarily as postures focused. Edit: first review should say "gentle hatha yoga" not baths

It was also an extremely deep stretch which my body definitely needed. The class was full of people of all levels. They offer modifications for high level students. I recommend bringing a yoga mat, if you do not have one they can provide a loaner mat. I will definitely be back and try other class. I also noticed they offered classes virtually which live streamed during scheduled class times. Their classes are very reasonably priced. They offer an intro 2 week unlimited for $25. They also have a location in Edgewater. Their classes are from as early at 6:30am to the latest being 7:30pm on during the week. They do offer weekend classes 9am to 1pm on Saturday and 8:30am to 1:15 and one 5pm class at the end of the day.

I have been several classes now at UWS Yoga and Wellness. I hope this review will be helpful to my…read morefellow yogis. Overall, this is a wonderful studio with a lot of potential. Firstly, the space has an incredible energy, as do the instructors. It feels clean, fresh, open, and is filled with the gentle scent of tea tree oil. The space is flooded with light. You can tell all the instructors are quite dedicated to their practice. I also see they are have put quite an effort into accommodating their students in these changing times and all classes are offered via Zoom. It is a noble effort. That being said, there is a large screen in the middle of the studio, they might consider changing to a projection/screen setup to make more floor space, but again, I think they are indeed doing an excellent job and their best to continue to offer yoga instruction to individuals who are unable to come in person. We are all doing our best do adjust in these difficult times and there are no best solutions. The current setup leaves the instructor a bit more focus on their Zoom students rather than their in person students (in my opinion), but they are really making an effort to accommodate both. I find that the classes are not as mentally, spiritually, or physically demanding as I would typically prefer. I hope they might consider challenging their students a bit moving forward. They might be more of a "beginner" crowd for now, but if you don't give them an opportunity or vision of growth, they might not be able to reach their full potential. These beginner students might not be familiar with the full expression of a pose, but they don't have the opportunity to get there if you do not show/teach them. For the classes I have been to, there isn't too much of a focus on the breath as a central part of the yoga practice. There is no meditation, prayer or reading before/after class or intention setting. Classes are well structured, well taught, and instructors are indeed concerned with their students. Due to the Zoom aspect, there is limited adjustment. This studio indeed brings a spiritual aspect to the way they practice, and the teachers are all well qualified. I hope they find a way to accommodate more advanced practitioners, by providing options during all level classes for example, or helping their "beginner" students further develop and go deeper into their practice. I see they are teaching to "the level presented to them". I hope they will consider challenging this level.

He was beyond helpful in giving adjustments & options. I have tried almost all of their instructors at this point & I love how each of them are different but all have the same general methods of teaching. It's a really small studio but I love that about it. I also love that they offer virtual classes so I can squeeze in a class between meetings or when traveling. I highly recommend UWS yoga!
