I can't find much of anything to complain about. A great experience all-around! First, the whole process was easy. After the initial paperwork, I was immediately taken in for eye tests and then promptly seen by the doctor (Dr. Ronald Suarez, OD - who was absolutely awesome!). Out of all my years of annual eye exams, this exam was definitely the most efficient; quick yet thorough. They did not have the brand of contact I have been using for years in my new prescription's strength, so Dr. Suarez gave me a trial of a new brand to try. The new brand he gave was still slightly off on the exact prescription, so he gave me a sample pair in the strength closest to my prescription, and will give me a new sample pair after the ones for my prescription come in. (Long story short, he basically gave me two pairs of contacts to try for free with the exam). I usually take the prescription from my eye exam and buy my contacts online. However, All About Eyes had about the same price for contacts as the cheapest place I could find online (and without all the hassles of coupons and mail-in rebates). So I simply bought my contacts in-store. Plus, with the sample contact lenses they gave me, it allows me to try the new brand of contacts before opening the actual box of contacts I purchased (free exchanges for unopened boxes of contacts; no questions asked). I was then seen by Tallie W., who handled all the insurance info. She was also very courteous and helpful. Dr. Ronald Suarez and Tallie W. were great from start to finish. Overall, I was really impressed with this place. I will definitely be coming back to All About Eyes for my next annual eye exam and to order contacts. read more

Well, originally my first appointment I was only 6 minutes late (issues at work) so they cancelled me and forced me to reschedule. Everything was fine when I came back for the appointment and through the appointment but after they got my orders in for glasses and sunglasses they apparently were made incorrectly because when I tried them it definitely wasn't my prescription as everything was blurry. The girl I talked to about it looked over paperwork and confirmed something was wrong so they had to remake them. This was like two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back from them since. Trying to give them the patience they didn't give me when I was 6 minutes late on my first appointment. Going to bring going in soon and if they are still not I'm going to just ask for my $400 back. read more

Where to start... Went in for my first exam. Doctor was okay except she let me drive home after having my eyes dilated. When scheduling the appt, I told them I wanted my eyes dilated because I had never had it done & worn glasses for 50 years. That drive home was scary, could barely keep my eyes open as they were very sensitive. I found out later from several people that they should have had me have a driver. As for the eyeglasses I purchased, they got the frames wrong twice. Same exact mistake made 2 times in a row. I purchased new lenses for sunglasses & asked them not to make them so dark. They came back darker than the originals. Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago I noticed one of my lens in my glasses was cracked. I had purchased insurance so they were covered & was instructed to come & they would fix them. I was not told how long that would take, but was there about 40 minutes & she came back with my glasses and had broken them. She had to put a different earpiece on because she broke one of the originals & they no longer carry that frame. So I did get a new pair for no charge, but not the frames I had before. She said they'd take a week to come in. It was 2 1/2 weeks. I picked them up & when I got home they were totally crooked. I couldn't wear them like that because they are bifocal & things didn't line up as they should. So I had to make yet another trip there. For only going there for one eye exam, I sure had to make a lot of trips. The parking lot is awful so I didn't appreciate that either. The staff seem to only be trained to sell. There needs to be someone there that can actually work on the products they carry & sell insurance on. They actually gave me credit from the first visit because they messed up so badly. This review is about the doctor I saw (Melanie Wehrman) and not the staff who were very helpful as always. Melanie was definitely not welcoming, friendly or supportive during my eye exam. Very cold, insensitive and seemed like she doesn't enjoy her job. There is no way I would feel comfortable speaking with her about my issues or concerns with my vision. I will be looking elsewhere for my future eye exams. Avoid this optometrist!! I just had my vision rechecked today by another doctor who said it was completely wrong!!! read more

Bate and switch. Talked me into a year supply of contacts because there was a $200 rebate on them. Come to find out the rebate only works if you get both the eye exam and contacts from All About Eyes. They knew I had an outside prescription and withheld that the rebate would not actually work. Left me to believe it would only to recieve a denial of rebate from the lens manufacturer. All About Eyes got the sale and I am out an extra $200. read more

It's unfortunate that I have to write this review. A few years ago, when I was having trouble with my eyes, I went to All About Eyes because of a glowing recommendation from a family member. The optometrist was fabulous and, at that time, the staff was helpful. After finding out I needed glasses, I found my perfect pair. Fast forward to October 2019. I went for an eye appointment because I hadn't been in a couple years and had time since I was on maternity leave. I saw the same fabulous optometrist, who said I needed a stronger prescription, even though I told him I'd had a baby 3 months prior. They ordered me new lenses, at a cost of $106, since they are out of network with my insurance (which I found out later). After a couple days of wearing my new prescription, I started getting headaches and a bit dizzy. I wore them for a couple weeks, since they said it can take a bit for your eyes to adjust. Needless to say, it didn't get any better. I called and they got me in that same day to see a different optometrist. I explained my situation and she gave me a reduced prescription. They ordered a new pair of lenses at no charge. Sounds like great service, right? I thought so too. Fast forward again to a week ago. I was having the same symptoms as before and could only tie it to my new prescription. I called back. They had me come back in and ended up giving me the original prescription I had from a couple years ago. Now, let's keep in mind that I paid $106 to go back to the original prescription I had. Well, they don't save the original lenses so they had to order, yet another, pair of lenses. I asked if I'd get a refund since they prescribed two different sets of lenses that were too strong, from two different optometrists. The staff member said no, because they still ordered me lenses. I didn't argue at the time because I didn't have the energy. Today, I called the manager at the store to discuss the situation. He agreed with the staff member that I owed the $106 even though I ended up back where I started with the original prescription. After some discussion and persuasion, he agreed to reimburse me $50. I should also mention, at the inception of this saga, despite me verifying that they had my insurance information, they didn't even bill my insurance for the lenses. After finding this out from my insurance, I called and the staff member confirmed that they didn't bill my insurance for the lenses. I also found out that All About Eyes is out of network. So, because they screwed up and didn't bill my insurance, I now have to wait for their corporate office to approve a refund after my insurance pays them. The amount of work I've had to put in to do their jobs for them is ridiculous. After all of this, the manager had the nerve to say to me "so after you get the $50 refund and we reimburse you for your insurance, you got three sets of lenses and an exam for $26. Not a bad deal!" WHAT?! I didn't "get" three sets of lenses. My insurance paid for the exam. So, All About Eyes isn't doing me any favors. In fact, I'm out $26 and a ridiculous amount of my time only to end up exactly where I started before going into that place two months ago. After buying multiple frames/lenses from this place for my family, we will not be returning. I'm also not holding my breath to be reimbursed from them for what my insurance would have covered had the salesman done it right in the first place. How quickly they took my money and how insanely long it's taking for them to reimburse me for their error. I'm sure I'll have to continue to follow up, if I want the reimbursement. Two years ago I would have recommended this place (and did to many people). And now, I won't step foot in that place again. It's sad, because I know their upper leadership is wonderful. Too bad that doesn't transfer down to the store level employees. read more

Dr. Devore at All About Eyes is great! I have been coming to him for years and he is always spot on on my prescription. The employees are always pleasant. I wish they had more recommendations on styles I should try, but other than that I like everything! read more

I dont feel to good about the Service, I ordered my glasses and they never called me when they came in I had to call them, then they only 1 of the 2 pairs i ordered, then they said 2 weeks a month goes by no.phone call, i called them and they said i got both pairs, we sort of got that straight and again no phone call, i call them a month later they said they had them, i thanked them my for not calling me both times, they said it was an automated system, uhg! Not impressed, no apology even , it seemed I was bothering them with my issue, so enough said, I will never go there ever again, for buy one get 1 free it cost me $245 and $300 from my insurance, for that kind of money I would think I would be treated better bye bye all about eyes and my friends will be told about you.....and I pray no one falls in to your bad Service.... read more

BEWARE IF YOU EYE/OPTICAL INSURANCE!!! Must Read BEWARE IF YOU USE YOUR INSURANCE HERE!!!!!!!! If you pay that optical premium in your paycheck this is a great place that is good for the Doctor visit. But when they hand you over to the sales depatment it is a different story. You end up paying more out of pocket if you use your insurance. They offer no discount un the unbelievable high prices since your insurance pays for it and your only responsible for the co-pay. But since there RETAIL PRICING IS SO OVER THE TOP the cost above insurance co-pay will still be above average this goes for both frames lens and add on. Since the inflate the retail price for the insurance company you better off not using your insurance. Ask them what specials they are offering. There special discount there inflated the price so much that it actually cheaper to not us the insurance you pay for at "All about Eyes". I had them do a side to side comparison and for the exact quotes, there was a 150.00. And there discounted special is on the winning side. They blamed my insurance that they needed to submit the bill to them with no additional discounts. So then it can only be submitted to them at retail price. I asked them if I can get these official quotes. But they told me they can not print anything so I had them hand write them out. So i have proof of this. Ended up going to SAMS club and got top of the line frames and lens combo and was able to submit for an out of network claim. Beating both their quotes by more the half. VERY HAPPY I DID THIS INSTEAD OF HAVING THEM RIP ME OFF. But they have great specials for families without insurance. BUT if you plan to use your insurance you pay for then best luck elsewhere or don't mention you have it. read more

Best vision center in Bloomington Normal IL! I truly truly recommend utilizing them. It is a very fluid, efficient and well operated process when going in to get your eyes checked and then to order your contacts and glasses. I have been using them for over five years and prefer to use them over going to a private practice because they are much more accommodating at All About Eyes. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for the lenses. The frame selection they have is great, but the lenses are low quality for the price. I have a very strong prescription, so I basically paid for their most quality lenses. I got 2 pairs of glasses from them and both times I complained of them only being clear in the very center. They told me that with strong prescriptions that's my only option. But I went somewhere else and I'm not having this problem. read more

I wanted a pair of single focus glasses for computer work. All About Eyes in Bloomington IL offered a pair at a very reasonable price. I got my prescription from my usual eye clinic, and had them made from that. The staff I worked with were very friendly and helpful. The glasses came within the predicted time, and have been working well. My experience with them is limited, but within that, I can recommend them. read more

Low quality lens and frame. Disappointed overall with the quality. One of my lens was cut incorrectly and kept falling out. I ended up going back to my old pair of glasses after a couple weeks of that nonsense. The physician was not very friendly and did the minimal stuff during my annual exam. Unfortunately, Not much positve to say. Smaller size frames are almost impossible to find. Only the giant size frames are available, which have been tried on by tons of people. Lenses are very poor quality and several pairs had to be redone due to incorrect cutting of lenses. The constant turn-over of unqualified staff leaves nobody to answer questions or measure bifocal lenses correctly. Good things to add, easy parking and good location in town and that's about it. read more

I was so pleased with the entire experience I had recently at All About Eyes. Everyone was conscientious about COVID precautions and took great care with everything from checking in to the actual eye exam and selection of my frames. I was very pleasantly surprised that the cost of my first pair of glasses was very reasonable and I asked if the second pair I was considering would be around the same cost. With their current offer, it was a no brainer when I was told my second pair would be only $100! I've worn glasses for over 50 years (yikes!) so I was well aware of how costly my prescription could be. I worked with Chelsea and she was so generous to offer any discount she could since I don't have insurance. The finished pairs were, in total, less expensive yet much higher quality than the last ones I purchased at a shop with in a big box retailer. The quality of service and professionalism has definitely earned my business when I have a need in the future. Well done by all! read more

I paid $260 for two pairs of frames + lenses in September 2016 at All About Eyes. Also, Doug DeVore is an excellent optometrist: friendly, helpful, thorough. The staff has always been great too. When we arrived, my son and I got in quickly to see the doctor for our eye exams. I was hopeful that it wouldn't take too long until I started looking at glasses. They left me to wander around without much guidance which can be good in some ways but bad in other ways since their selection was overwhelming. Once I sat down to hear the final cost with my insurance, I was appalled at the high prices even with insurance. Well, they never asked for my insurance card upon initial arrival therefore no one called to find out what the coverage was while I was looking at glasses (which would have sped up the process). The associate was too busy helping other people while I was looking at glasses so she ended up calling my insurance while I was sitting in front of her. When it was all said and done, I spent 1 hour and 40 minutes there which is a long time when you are also managing your children. I will give All About Eyes another chance since I was a first time patient but the leash will be short. read more

I called this afternoon to simply order more contacts and was prompted by a not-so-friendly receptionist that they were too busy to help me and that they would call me later. Well, that just seems to me that my loyalty as a customer is not appreciated. I had been coming here for years when they changed the eye doctor doing my pre exam for my contact prescription. Not that this is a problem, but the new optometrist was very rude for no apparent reason acting as if I wasn't paying attention. I tried to lighten the mood with a joke because that's who I am and get back to the exam. He heavily sighed, went back and forth with me, then stormed out of the room. I went to All About Eyes for the first time in August. I had some issues with getting the right prescription but once I started seeing Dr. Devore he was able to get me in the right prescription for my contacts and glasses. He was the best eye doctor that I have ever been to before - extremely friendly, personable, and helpful. I would recommend requesting an appointment with him. This place is awesome. Went in there to purchase a set of frames out of pocket since none of my providers carried them. Was expecting to pay $275 for frames alone but they matched my insurance anyways and still gave me a discount. I ended up getting my lenses and everything through All About Eyes and the total was $190 as opposed to around $300. Highly recommend and will continue to use them in the future.
