So I paid more to get new lenses with supposed new eye exam readings and exam. Wrong the glasses came in. Same problem. I suspected no new lenses made. So I got new different frames titanium because others tickle made face sores. I have a stimatism I am suppose to bet lenses material Trivexse not polycarbonate. They remarked with red pen lines on the lenses. Said they would remake. I came in when called new glasses ready. The minute I saw red lines still on the lenses I thought....how come if the lens were new and adjustments made. No way did the lens adjustments change. You guessed it. Same problems seeing. I ask why the red lines on lenses? If glasses regroup or prepared the red lines would be made. Guess I asked a foolish question because women eye department for glasses shuffled service to me like a card deck. I was told take home and get use to them. Their eye exam was look over across dept. Room to far away doors of restrooms can you read the words? I said I can not distinctly see words. But I said what professional eye exam. I know the restrooms with men and women marked on doors. Now the older woman removed my new glasses and went to back bending frames. I was told the cost to them was enough. Go home get use to them. Take time. Are you driving? They looked at my companion said you drive her home. It is our quitting time we're are locking up now. These people are having issues. How much time December through May. Gas prices are near $4.90. Four hour time up and four hour trip back home. $80 each trip . Now four times $320 gas spent. I can't wear these glasses ever. I will be out the prices and insurance. Frustration. Go somewhere else or go home and get use to those glasses.

National Church Residences Home and Community Services…read more2245 N Bank Dr Columbus, OH 43220 Phone: 614-457-6950 Fax: 614-457-6951 www.nationalchurchresidences.org To Whom It May Concern: Greetings! My name is Angela Mendoza. I am a Resident Service Coordinator for a Section8/HUD Housing complex for low income/disabled, veterans and elderly in Peoria, Illinois. The non-for-profit company I work for is National Church Residences and we take pride in following our mission of "Excellence That Transforms Lives". As an individual with limited income it can be unsettling not to able to obtain the necessities needed to function. I wanted to share with you the wonderful impact that Illinois Eye Center has made in our community and with myself personally. Speaking for myself, yesterday as I visited Illinois Eye Center for my routine exam with Dr. Kitchgessner who is always wonderful, but I would like to express my deepest gratitude with their Optical Department where the representative "JOE," went above and beyond his job duties. As, I sought to purchase new frames with transitions from XTRActive (Amethyst), JOE did not hesitate to contact my insurance to make sure the transition was covered, he even checked with his lead supervisor. Due to my scheduled workload, Joe could sense I was becoming impatient, therefore, he apologized for the inconvenience and stated he could provide me an estimate on my cost and stated he would call me once he finds out if my insurance would or would not cover these types of transitions. Joe must have recalled that I stated I would be back in the office around 2pm and yes, you guessed; I received a call from Joe stating the type of transitions I was seeking were NOT covered. Nevertheless, I was extremely impressed by Joe's professionalism, courtesy, and decrement on my current mood as the time became consuming. So, if you are ever at Illinois Eye Center @ 8921 N. Wood Sage Rd, Peoria, IL do not hesitate to seek out JOE for him to provide you with the "Excellence That Will Transform," your life. Thank you once again Joe Sincerely, Angela Mendoza Resident Services Coordinator National Church Residences anmendoza@nationalchurchresidences.org http://www.nationalchurchresidences.org/

Dr. Steve Lichtenstein is amazing with my now 4 1/2 year old. She's been seeing him since she was 8…read moreor 9 months old about every 3-4 months. He really developed a bond with her. She loves going. Can hardly wait for her next appointment. I was very surprised that Dr. Steve didn't immediately send my daughter to surgery, which originally we thought we definitely had to have happen based on what her primary optometrist and pediatric optometrist said when referring her to an ophthalmologist, however he patched her for 6 months or so and put glasses on her. He wanted to make sure that her eye turn issue couldn't be corrected in another way first. So glad for that, but like I said, surprised a surgeon didn't just want to go straight to surgery. All of the staff is friendly and not only good with my kid but also can talk to me about her appointment in a way I can understand what is going on with her eyes. They are good at sharing her appointment info with her optometrist and giving me paperwork for her daycare provider. The optical department is very expensive. If you do not have insurance coverage for that than you will have to make sure you get the dr to write you a prescription to take somewhere else. They quoted me $360 for glasses for my toddler who was going through about 3 pairs a year due to her growing, prescription changes, and accidentally damages. The wait time is often long. On multiple occasions we haven't been called back until an hour or more after our appointment time. So bring a book or something to do in the waiting room. I think the earliest we ever got called back was 10 minutes after our appointment time. Also there are not enough restrooms. We have to drive 2 hours to get there then wait in line at the restroom. We have now gotten in the habit of stopping at the gas station on our way into town. TLDR: dr awesome, staff good, pricey, wait time awful, not enough potties
