I have been a return customer for the past few months because I was happy coming here... keyword: was. Tina has done my nails every time, but this time was interesting. Every other visit my boyfriend tags along and gets his feet cleaned up and usually the total is about $110 or around there. When it's just me going alone I'm charged somewhere between $45-55 for a simple design fill. When I get my nails done it's a simple design, and the pedicures we get are both basic. Why was today $145? We got the same exact things we always get. When I called she said that mine alone was $89... never has been before. In fact I had asked for OMBRÉ before and it still didn't total $145. After I paid ** leaving no tip because she kept hurting my fingers, didn't paint my nails all the way, left so many bubbles, and wouldn't soak my fingers to do a new set) she says NOTHING, doesn't even ask if we want receipt. I'm very sad, as I enjoyed coming here, the hospitality, and Tina... but I won't be returning. read more

Wanted simple design with gel. When I sat down he said dip would be better.. as someone who gets there nails done once a year for special occasions I didn't know what the entailed. He said "better for your nails"... so I said ok. He barely took anytime to prep my nails. Minimal cuticle clipping, didn't even file the ends to make them even. He did 2 very thick layers of dip, with very messy edges. And the design, well.... You can see the pics. It was so thick and uncomfortable not to mention it looked like a toddler did them, I went home and removed them. read more

This is a great nail salon! I always use Jan, however, all the ladies do amazing work. My hands always look so much better after I have my nails done. I do a lot of yard work, but my nails clean up without a scratch. I use the "Dip" for a long lasting finish. Love it! read more

I love my nails each time I get them done here. Been going to them since before Covid when they were next to Sakura and then followed them to their new place. (4 years) Some nails techs are talkative - some are not. I do not care either way. But each nail tech I've gotten over the years has been great. I love the convenience of just popping in when I have the time. One time my nail popped off after 3 days (very unusual for this to happen). I went back and they fixed it immediately. They were apologetic. I do not care if someone is sleeping in a chair or has their feet up on a desk. I just care about how my nails look. If you want a top notch customer service and professional nail place - you may want to try a local salon. Otherwise - Alist is great. read more

Despite the other reviews about this specific business I really enjoy it and is probably a favorite. They do have "hidden fees" and it really all depends on your artist some charge an extra $5 for shape and some and extra $5+ for design. However, to be devils advocate I have noticed this at other salons and as someone who has been a regular nail goer you just need an artist that works for you. I personally go to Jenny at this salon she is always a sweetheart! She's never denied my designs and always tries her best and always wows me and she will communicate with me! I've never had hurt/cut or bloody cuticles and I dont feel judged by her when I tend to chew or pick at them here and there. Certainly a favorite and will continue to go to her. Manicure and pedicure done. Felt rushed and the mani/pedi wasn't very professional looking. I got gel for the manicure and it lit started peeling and chipping the next day. Also their prices aren't consistent...I never know what I'm going to owe because it's different every time even though I have the same thing done. Their quality and customer service have gone downhill...I won't be gibing back. I feel like I'm interrupting them when they should be paying attention to the customer but they are not and the hygiene of the establishment and their employees is inconsistent. read more

3rd time there and won't ever go back. Had Grace for the third time and this time she watched a movie the whole time while doing my nails. The lady working behind her is always curled up in between two chairs and sleeping. Very unprofessional. I asked Grace if that lady behind her could get me a glass of wine and she said no. I asked if they had wine and she said yes. I then had to proceed to ASK if I could get a glass. Other employees in there sitting around with feet up on desk. As I was leaving, I tipped very well and very unappreciative and the owner sits by the door and doesn't say anything as you walk out. Just went to get a pedicure and thought no one could mess up a french tip. My nails are uneven and the polish is shaky & has bumps. Horribly done and very upset. I asked the lady to fix them and she did it the exact same way she did before. Do not recommend getting a pedicure there. read more

I have made A List my go to nail salon. I stop in about once a month and they always do a great job. Recently, I've had a few unpleasant experiences. My nails have been rushed and my preferences ignored, and I've been blatantly disrespected. I do not appreciate being being treated poorly because my nail accidentally got nicked when moving to dry them. Very unprofessional. I will be seeking business elsewhere. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences at this place. Except for my last appointment with Mandy. He started by telling me he was 43, then proceeded to ask if my 17 year old sister was single. He was asking me to translate phrases from Spanish like "I love you". He wanted me to guess his name, and was trying to guess my name as well. He ended the appointment by asking me if "I was his girl". Appointment also took 20 mins longer than usual. Felt like he was trying to keep me there. Overall super creepy and uncomfortable experience a 21 year old girl and her 17 year old sister. read more

Scheduled an appointment here with nail technician, alex, 3 weeks in advance since I was in Cedar Falls for one specific day. Showed up for appointment ready to get my nails done, and was told that alex wasn't even there at my scheduled, CONFIRMED, time slot. my whole day revolved around this appointment and i'm rarely in cedar falls. will NOT be going back! in addition to this, alex is ALWAYS on facetime with his girlfriend during our appointments. i've had friends say the same. how unprofessional! would NOT recommend to anyone! read more

I travel for my job so I am on the road constantly. I was heading into a dinner meeting and noticed my nails looked awful (I love to pick away at my Shellac...bad habit). I'm always a bit nervous going to new nail salons because I have had some bad experiences, however I needed something! I found Alist nails on YELP and I was welcomed when I entered and the salon was clean. I was able to get a shellac manicure in about 30 minutes and it looks great. The one tip I have - they do not let you tip on credit cards HOWEVER they do have a "fee free" ATM that is located right next to the reception desk if you are needing some cash to tip. read more

My friend and I came in yesterday for manicures. My nail tech was unhygienic and rushed through the process of doing my nails. The polish has cracks and ridges (pointer finger on my right got messed up when I walked out the door, my error). On top of that, she sneezed ONTO HER HAND, apologized, then continued working on my nails. Seriously? Later on when I was waiting for my nails to dry, I saw her sitting criss-cross on one of the pedicure chairs with her bare feet, no socks or shoes, touching the part where people sit. My friend and i both went to this place and got the same thing done but I paid an extra 5 dollars and they didn't even explain why. When I asked they said it was an extra $5 for the tips but used my natural nails since they're long and I didn't get tips for length. I asked for a coffin shape but they're squared. They're bumpy and thick, and they even look lopsided. My nails were definitely rushed. I don't recommend going here. Not worth the money or the time. Also, one of my nails isn't fully covered like it chipped when I was in there. read more

The staff is very friendly, I will give them that. I got the dip, which is supposed to be better for your nails. I was overall very disappointed with the quality, my thumb nail cracked the next day. I don't think my nails were dipped as many times as they were supposed to be. My skin was peeling around my nails, and my actual nails are completely ruined. Went there with my family for a girls day, we all got pedicures. They offer free beverages and the prices are decent. MOST of the staff is friendly and my 3 family members enjoyed their pedicure, however, the woman who did mine was very rushed and didn't do a thorough job. Went in for a fill and to fix a broken nail. Instead of fixing my broken nail, without asking me they decided it would be easier to cut my nails down to match the broken one. I did not ask for that and when I asked if they were going to replace the broken nail, they did not answer and kept working. Now I have acrylics that are very short and uncomfortable, and not to mention look bad. I paid $30 for a service I did not ask for. Will not be returning. read more

Minimal attention to the pedicure and what is needed--especially the exfoliation. Just going through the motions while doing FaceTime with friend on vacation in Florida. Ridiculous.
