The very best part of this beach is the parking! However, it's when you can get a parking spot as well in their paid lot - few dollars per hour, super reasonable. We went around 10:30 am on a weekday so we did find several spots available at that time. Not long after - within the next hour-ish, the lot quickly was full and you would see cars going around and around trying to find a car that was leaving. If you find a spot in the lot, the beach is literally right there and it's so convenient for carrying things or going back to your car for something. The water is very close and it makes for a really fun time. It's pretty clean and there's a kids park and jungle gym right next to the parking lot and there's a restaurant there as well - I haven't tried it yet, but will be for sure on another trip there. read more

Aliso Beach is easily one of my favorite coastal spots in Laguna! Finding a beach that is actually accessible and stress-free can be a challenge, but this one nails it. ​One of the biggest wins is that it actually has two parking lots, which is a total game-changer for this area, especially if you're hauling gear. The layout is incredibly ADA accessible, and the tunnel under PCH makes getting from the extra parking to the sand safe and easy. You can also go to the lifeguard tower to ask them for a beach wheelchair. ​It's a fantastic, family-friendly environment with plenty of space to set up an umbrella and spend the whole day. Whether you're here for the views or just a relaxing afternoon by the water, the convenience makes it a 10/10 experience. Definitely a go-to if you want a beautiful beach day without the usual parking headache! My favorite for easy access, south OC beach. Easy parking, 2.50/hr, up to 8 hours. There's a snack bar, benches, play area for kiddos, a couple of bonfires next to the snack area, lifeguards on duty. Dogs allowed on beach on leash, off season--which is now! Google to confirm dates. Really nice rock area to explore on the left. Nice photo area. The only con is: there is a sewer stench at times. This is my favorite beach in OC because the hourly parking is only $2.50/hr and the parking is right at the beach so you don't have to trek far. There is a playground that my kids love to play at and the other end there are rocks that has good tide pool. There is an onsite cafe and the food is really good as well as clean bathrooms. The waves can get big during high tide so be sure to keep an eye out for your children. read more

This is a nice little beach in Laguna. They have a parking lot, playground for the kids, and a snack bar. The surf can get rough at times that's why the pier is no longer here. It got torn down along with Treasure Island pier in the late 90's. The snack bar has good food too read more

Aliso Beach in Laguna, is one of our favorite beaches to visit. It's been a couple years since we last came here. We drove by really quick before dinner. We couldn't help but watch the sunset tonight. It was so beautiful we had to stop. Aliso beach is clean and quaint, but gets very busy during those hot summer days. I personally wouldn't come here when it's packed as parking is such a pain. There is an attached parking lot, as well as one across the way that you can reach via underground tunnel. You can also park on the streets but with little ones, I'm too nervous to do that. At the main parking lot entrance is a kids playground. All the way across the other side of the same parking lot are the showers, restrooms and a shack to buy food. As you can see from my photos, Aliso Beach, is a beautiful place to sit and watch the sun come down. You'll love this place. It's a favorite in South OC. I'll be retuning with the family again very soon. Hopefully this time we beat the crowd. read more

We visited Aliso Beach yesterday and found it to be a small but stunning stretch of coastline just south of Laguna Beach. It's not quite a cove, but it has that sheltered, tucked-away feel, making it a picturesque and relaxing place to spend a sunny afternoon. The beach itself is fairly narrow--not as deep as something like Santa Monica Beach--but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in beauty. The sand is clean, the water is crystal clear, and the views are gorgeous. Built into the bluff above the beach are beautiful homes that add to the dramatic coastal scenery. There's a large parking lot right next to the beach (paid parking), and from what I understand, there's additional parking across the street, accessible via a tunnel. The amenities are excellent: clean, well-maintained restrooms, a beachfront snack bar with outdoor seating (which looked great, though we didn't try it), and even a playground for kids. One of the most striking features was the surf. On the day we went, the waves were very large and powerful--definitely not ideal for casual swimming. The lifeguards were very active and attentive, keeping a close watch on everyone and advising kids to stay back from the water, which gave us some peace of mind. At the northern end of the beach, there's a lovely tide pool area where families were exploring, and a natural rock formation that looks like a tunnel--very popular for photos and exploring. It definitely had an Instagram-worthy vibe. All in all, Aliso Beach is a gem: beautiful, well-equipped, and lively but not overcrowded. Just be cautious if you're planning to swim--it's as wild as it is wonderful! read more

On the day we visited here, the lifeguard said that there was a strong rip tide; everyone had to stay out of the water :-( We were disappointed, but the waves here alren't dangerous all the time. On a good day, visiting here can be quite appealing. While this beach isn't for everyone, it's a great place to come if you're a boogie boarder or a skim surfer (it's not so good if you're into snorkeling or body surfing) There's plenty of parking, several places to purchase food, and some reasonably clean bathrooms. While this probably won't become your favorite beach, it's certainly worth paying it a visit :-) read more

Since my solo first visit to Aliso Beach, I have been back here a couple times to volunteer to clean the beach with my eldest daughter in Nov and Dec 2023. Funny, for Nov, we pulled into the parking lot and saw the Surfrider blue tent, but after we parked and started walking over to them, they had already packed up and left LOL. I guess they couldn't wait to get out of here. My daughter and I still stayed for an hour to see if we can find some trash. They actually did a very good job on the clean up that day... we still found about 6 items though... mainly candy wrappers... it's still something. For Dec, we arrived an hour earlier than in Nov. Hence, we got a chance to pick up more trash this time around than the last. Aliso Beach is very well kept. Love the waters and sand! Depending on the season of the tides, the sand can come up in mounds. People are still here to enjoy their beach visit any time of the year. We got a chance to peek at the birds taking their baths in the small pond area... it was so much fun watching them. We came to the conclusion that the male birds took longer baths than the female birds. I guess first impression is everything in case they meet a new lady bird... wash to impress LOL. Anyway, we will definitely be back here for more volunteer cleanup, enjoy the beautiful beach views, and listen to the serene waves. It's a really nice beach but it's a bit aggressive if you're taking children. I think we got there around 1pm, found parking inside the lot which was plus. You can either pay at kiosk or pay through the app. There's plenty of life guards which makes sense since the waves a big here and the beach sits at an angle. There is a play area for the kids but it's down the beach. The parking lot is small but there is street parking. read more

We love Aliso Beach because when there's parking, it's SO convenient to just park and grab all your things to walk a short distance to the beach, and if you have a little one (we have a 4-year-old) the park. The park is not super modern but it has all the essentials for kids, such as swings, slides, ladders, bridges, a boat and of course...sand :) Plus the backdrop being the pacific ocean is pretty sweet. There are restrooms that are pretty clean for being beach bathrooms and sinks with soap always stocked with soap. The restaurant "Los Mile" is delicious (fish tacos and michelada - yum!!) and the views...cmon. Go on a weekday, before 3pm and you'll find it's chill :) Summer time this place gets PACKED, but for those who are local....off season....it's perfection. read more

Aliso Beach is a smaller beach where you can see beautiful homes right on the sand and other homes sitting on cliffs. It always makes me wonder what kind of jobs they have to afford beach property and that I'm 99% sure I will never attain such property. Then I drive inland towards home and ponder my life decisions. THE ALISO BEACH FEELS | Quaint and cozy little spot for beach goers to lay out in the sun and enjoy the beach life. A small playground area sits next to (elevated) where Aliso Creek empties out into the ocean. There's a little eatery called Lost Pier Cafe where they serve up breakfast and lunch items every day from 8AM - 6PM. Portable fire pits are available for rent through Lost Pier Cafe! Just visit their website for more information. The famous Laguna Ocean Tide Pools are located north of the parking lot. It's a bit of a walk, especially walking in sand, but well worth it. THE PARKING SITUATION | Park and pay the fee at a pay station or through the Laguna Beach Parking app. There's a change to the Aliso Beach parking rules found on the City of Laguna website: "Effective March 1, 2023, the City of Laguna Beach will manage the Aliso Beach parking lots.  Parking rates will be $2.50/hour, and City-issued Shopper Permits will be valid in both the inland and coastal lots. OC Parks passes will no longer be valid in the Aliso Beach lots. OC Parks will offer a prorated refund for annual passes purchased before March 1.  Please email ocparks@ocparks.com to initiate a refund. Laguna keeps amazing me. Happened to drive by one day and realized there was a playground there. Decided to take my 3 1/2-year-old son here since he's been begging to go into the ocean since we returned from Hawaii a couple of weeks ago. He loves big waves and is so fascinated by them. But the biggest thing is I needed him to understand that the water here at home is VERY different than the waters in Hawaii. Needless to say, it was freezing and he learned to enjoy playing in the sand instead. The park was fun, but what makes this the best experience is you can head on over to the sand once your children get tired of the playground. You could easily make a whole day of it. It's clean, it wasn't too crowded, and we got to watch skimboarders who had some pretty cool moves. Overall a great experience and environment to spend our day off from school for Veterans Day. read more

You can cross the rocks to explore the other side of the beach when the tide is not too high. Just use extra-caution & common sense. There are plenty of parking spots & they're close to the beach. This beach is probably the most popular section along Laguna. Majority of those sunset photos that you have seen posted from Thousand Steps beach and Treasure Island Beach are actually from Aliso Beach. It can get mistaken because Aliso Beach is right between the two other sections. Aliso Beach is probably the most accessible beach among the three I have mentioned. It has a private parking lot and is close to restaurants nearby for weekend brunch. The waves that you have seen crashing against the rocks and from a distance for that beautiful sunset/sunrise overlooking the cliffs and rocks are from Aliso Beach. The weekend will be filled with pre-wedding photos, engagement photos, and other reunion gathering photo-ops. So be aware of that if you are looking to take that Instagram selfie shots. It's a beautiful part of the beach because of the waves and gorgeous view of the sun overlooking the ocean. It has the sun tanners, but doesn't have yoga classes (Treasure Island Beach) and exercise aficionados (Thousand Steps Beach). Best time to come here is pre-dawn. It is really spectacular to look at the sunrise. read more

COVID 19 has been really hard on all of us. But today we decided to go into nature and just enjoy our freedom to breathe. We were actually headed to Goff Island, but saw a sign for Aliso Beach. And we're so thankful that we did. This is a perfect spot for walking along the water, taking some incredible pictures, or just watching the sunset. There's a parking lot but it gets very crowded easily. However, there's ample parking near a park across the street. There's also free street parking (which is where we found a spot pretty quickly). Once there, you can take the small tunnel under the road and enter the main area. The beach runs for at least a mile with soft grainy sand and the fragrance of ocean water scenting the air. We ran into young kids surfing to old couples holding hands looking off into the sunset. It seemed like the whole town was there -- and for a very good reason too; this beach is perfect! It was nice to be surrounded with so much love and energy. The sunset was epic. And most importantly our trip here reminded us that we are all in this together, and that we all share a combined humanity. read more

After a pouring rain, it is a perfect day to do any kind of out door activities. We were cruising around pacific coast highway from Crown Valley going North. It has many beach at your disposal to choice. We stopped at Aliso beach to get some fresh air and took some pictures. It wasn't a very busy day on the beach but parking lot is close to 2/3 full. Afternoon weather isn't too cold with Sun still kept some warmest. Sky is perfect and clear. Aliso Beach on the other side is a park where picnic a large area of grass lawn for picnic. Aliso Beach isn't very huge but good enough to do all beach activities. With super clear sky we can see Catalina Island on any of the costal beaches. There is a small tunnel next to the highway bridge that can lead to the park on the other side. I think once we warm up this place will be super packed! read more

Great beach to just lay out and enjoy the waves. Had to get away for some rest and relaxation as I wa going a little stir crazy stuck at home with this over-hyped up pandemic. It's really a farse they're forcing us to shelter in place while people are dying of other diseases due to fear of going to seek medical care. The numbers just don't justify it. Although parking is on PCH since they closed off the parking lot, making you have to walk slightly to get to the stairs that lead down to the beach. It's chill watching the people play in the water and the skim boarders were also entertaining to watch as they ran towards the water, throwing their skim boards ahead of them and hopping on so they could ride a wave. They have public toilets that are well-maintained as well as water fountains, and faucets to wash off your sandy feet before leaving. I enjoyed this beach and will most likely come back again in the near future for another getaway from the deep state's attempt to curtail my freedom as well seeking respite from the summer heat inland. What a great beach! Tucked in South Laguna, it's just the right size not to accumulate huge crowds like Huntington, but larger and sandier than the one in 'regular' Laguna. I arrived at 9:30am and found ample parking. The crowds hadn't arrived although there were quite a few people still. I decided the interesting section was where I saw lots of short boarders congregating. South of the Lifeguard Post swimming is forbidden but the rough surf and large crashing waves are a short boarder's paradise and I was not only entertained, but somewhat inspired to try the sport. The food service never opened so I don't know the story there except bringing lots of water and snacks is advised. Just be responsible and tote out your trash. The sand was clean so I had no trouble laying down a couple of towels and soaking up some rays. It got hot by noon and so did the sand underfoot. The crowds grew and the number of cars orbiting the parking lot looking for a space made it difficult to back out when I finally did leave. First, however, I wanted to thoroughly scout the area and found the tunnel under Highway One to be the coolest place. The additional parking across the road was?full but sparsely populated so evidently everyone hit the beach. Only a dollar an hour to park, I stayed for almost three-hours. My new favorite spot! Next time I'll bring an umbrella and small cooler. read more
