I popped over for a quick walk thru at lunch today and was very pleasantly surprised, even in today's scorching heat. There was a vegetable vendor who had every type of vegetable and fruit at very reasonable prices. I think it's cash only so I was limited in what I could buy but the items I inquired about were very fresh and economical. Bread vendor: YUM! His table had artisanal breads, including wheat, raisin walnut, four kinds of stuffed bread, muffins, baguettes, breadsticks .... all poppin' fresh and less expensive than Whole Foods. Pickle vendor: His booth smelled great! Pickled beans, pickled cucumbers, etc. I am going back to see if he has pickled eggs (a habit I acquired in Central PA) Apple Cake Vendor - Looked delicious!! I wanted to try the Apple Rum Cake but didn't have enough cash. And something unusual! A vendor who specializes in Chocolate Covered Bacon and other tasty bacony treats!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it weren't so hot, I would have bought some to bring home but since I walked over, my treat would have melted immediately. The Farmers Market is small but sweet as of today. I got a notice from my Condo Management Company that the market was open from 11:30 am to 6 PM every Wednesday but the Bread Vendor said that he was there at 10 am. I would check it out if I were passing by.

There are a wide variety of food and drink vendors with friendly staff, and this location has textile recycling. Come early though because the market closes at 2:00 PM. A few of my favorite vendors include: - White Moustache Yogurt: The handmade yogurts are delicious and decadent. This is definitely one of those treat yourself purchases. Definitely try the Walnut and Honey and Dates flavors. - Simple Fine Foods: They offer a wide assortment of British pies. They sell them frozen, so you can easily bake them to reheat at home. - The Lentil Co.: The Spiced Crunchy Mung Lentil snacks are addicting. - Wave Hill Breads: The highlight here is their focaccia. Both the sea salt and rosemary are tasty.

I love the vicinity to the park, as it is literally right on it. I'll go for a run in the morning and make my way over here for my fresh seafood, pickles, veggies and fruits. The flower arrangements are always in season blossoms. I love getting heirloom eggs, and visiting the bakery for my extra fermented sourdough. There are so many great options here that I have yet to try, like some of the cheese vendors but you can't go wrong with practically any of the products. Even get your labneh here. I've been in this neighborhood for 4 years and come quite often. It's busy but worth the hype!

5 star review for the Knoll Krest Farm stand @ the Tuccker Square Greenmarket…read more They always have such high quality products, and amazing customer service. They sell a variety of seasonally rotating items including fresh pastas, soups, potpies and pastries, etc., I also find they're the best stand in this small market to purchase goods for later in the week/future meal planning. For example, the Chicken Pozole $15/qt- can be purchased at room temp or frozen. The frozen option is fantastic for a quick easy meal on hand- can be defrosted quickly or during the day in the fridge. My parents are obsessed with the pozole from el mitote- but my mom likes to modify hers as white meat only which they often cannot do. They were very happy when I introduced them to Knoll Krest Farm's Pozole- they reported back that it was flavorful and had a TON of white meat chicken. It's also reasonably priced. The other soups they had that day were a vegetable soup and I believe a chicken noodle.

I still visit the Greenmarket when I'm back in the neighborhood. The market is named after Richard Tucker the Opera singer. The nearby park is a comfortable place to rest after you shop. This area is great for visitors to Lincoln Center and the nearby American Folk Art Museum. I'm going back soon since I still have friends living in the neighborhood. It's fresh fruit and veggies so enjoy!
