Disappointing Experience With Management and an Unfulfilled Refund Agreement…read moreI am sharing my experience with Alana Wellness because transparency, professionalism, and accountability are especially important when customers pay substantial amounts upfront for medical aesthetic treatments. I purchased a package of three microneedling treatments with PRP for more than $2,000 and completed two sessions. I chose the package largely because I trusted the nurse performing the procedures. When that nurse left the practice, I explained to the owner that I was uncomfortable having someone unfamiliar draw my blood and perform my remaining treatment. I was open to working with a new provider; I simply wanted an opportunity to establish rapport and confidence first. The owner directed me to an employee I believe was named Savannah, explaining that she handled these situations and instructing me to work with her toward a resolution. Savannah acknowledged my concerns and agreed to a refund of approximately $700 for my unused treatment. That refund was never issued. This was particularly disappointing because I intended to remain a customer. I had a filler appointment scheduled and planned to apply the refund toward it. I was also interested in establishing a relationship with the new provider and continuing filler appointments approximately every three months, along with other services. I wasn't trying to leave Alana Wellness; I was trying to find a reasonable way to remain a customer. When I followed up about the refund, I was promised a callback that never came. The owner eventually contacted me and said Savannah had no authority to authorize a refund. This was concerning because the owner had directed me to Savannah to resolve the matter and had separately assured me that she would honor whatever her employee agreed to. The owner then stated that my unused treatment was worth only $299, citing the business's PRP pricing. However, the treatment I purchased was microneedling with PRP, which involves drawing and processing blood to obtain platelet-rich plasma. At the time of this review, the website advertised microneedling with PRP starting at $350, while separately listing PRP under-eye treatments starting at $299. I understand that package pricing can differ from advertised starting prices. My concern is that an agreement had already been reached with the employee the owner specifically designated, and that agreement was later disregarded. As a business owner myself, I understand that staffing changes and operational challenges happen. I also understand the importance of honoring commitments made to customers, particularly when they come through employees management has authorized to handle a situation. I had spent thousands of dollars, had another appointment scheduled, and was prepared to continue investing in treatments with this practice. My only requests were to feel comfortable with the provider performing my procedure and to receive the agreed-upon refund. Unfortunately, this experience significantly changed my confidence in the business. For anyone considering prepaid packages at Alana Wellness, I recommend getting individual treatment pricing, refund policies, and any agreements with management in writing before making a financial commitment. My disappointment isn't that the nurse left. It's that I followed the owner's instructions, reached an agreed resolution, and was subsequently told that agreement would not be honored. An unfortunate way to lose the trust of a customer who genuinely wanted to continue doing business with them.
