Dr Calderone in the entire staff have done an excellent job. In fact, he was so good that when I had to have my left hip replaced I went back to him. We have had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Calderone's office in Camarillo…read more Dr. Calderone himself may be a perfectly capable orthopedic doctor, but unfortunately, the overall experience with his office has made us decide not to return. The biggest issue is the staff. Whenever we need paperwork, medical records, a referral, or really any type of request, we are made to feel as though we are bothering them. There seems to be very little urgency or concern, and it routinely takes days just to get a response. The office experience isn't much better. Every time we have had an appointment, we have waited at least an hour in a small, uncomfortable waiting room with the television blasting soap operas or other programming at a volume that makes an already unpleasant wait even worse. Even more surprising for an orthopedic practice, the restroom is not conveniently located inside the office. Patients have to go out the door and down an outdoor hallway to use it. Many of the people coming to an orthopedist are dealing with broken bones, serious injuries, pain, walkers, crutches, or limited mobility. You would expect an orthopedic office to be designed with those patients in mind. Our biggest concern, though, is simply the overall lack of care and compassion we have felt from the office staff. When people are dealing with injuries and pain, a little kindness, responsiveness, and understanding go a long way. Dr. Calderone may be a good doctor, but in our experience, he needs a more caring and responsive staff and an office environment that better accommodates orthopedic patients. Unfortunately, based on our experiences, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this office.

This man changed my life! I'd had chronic stomach problems…read moresince I was a teen, likely due to taking Ibuprofen for too long for menstrual cramps. This had largely destroyed the lining of my gut. I was always cynical of holistic remedies and herbal medicine, but was suffering so much that when a dear family friend offered to pay for the consultation and told me she'd seen great results, I figured I had nothing to lose. Dr. Bruce got me off the no-longer-working Pepcid I was using to protect my stomach, introduced me to probiotics, Organic Chlorella and Spirulina and showed me a much more natural, healthy way of healing what ails me. He could also tell me exactly WHY wine no longer tasted good to me and burned my stomach, and why certain foods didn't agree with me - but also gave me alternatives. Every suggestion turned into amazing results when I followed his instructions. I feel so much better now in my 50's, than I felt in my 40's because I'm no longer on the roller-coaster of partially effective, side-effect-laden, over-the-counter meds. That one consultation with Dr. Bruce led to a lifetime of dietary changes, too. I now buy organics and preservative-free food whenever possible. I can tell the difference in my health when I do. This was at least 7 or 8 years ago that I met with him, but it still holds true. I've learned to listen to my body - and Dr. Bruce!

My previous dr only ordered rx for birth control "to balance hormones" and it made everything worse. Dr Geer personally called with biopsy results and a personal referral to City of Hope Dr Amy Hakim the very next day! Never have I experienced such personal service from a doctor, ever! She called me to assure me I wasn't alone and she is available by cell if needed. Had she ignored and treated for hormone imbalance like my previous doctor and not biopsy the cancer could have been more invasive and out of control without knowing until it was much too late. Dr Geer also takes her time during appointments, truly pauses to listen to concerns and is extremely personable. So rare nowadays. For over six months, I felt like I was being sent in circles between their office and other doctors without a clear path forward. Meanwhile, I've been dealing with overwhelming pain and ongoing problems with my spine. What has been especially frustrating is feeling like my concerns and the severity of my pain were not met with the empathy, compassion, or urgency I expected from a pain management team. Six months is a long time to feel stuck when you're hurting every day and simply trying to get appropriate care. I hope the office takes a serious look at how patients experiencing significant pain are being communicated with and supported.
