I found Dr. Geer's office when I moved to Camarillo 20 years ago. At first I was surprised of the long wait at times but I quickly realized that she took time with her patients when they needed her. She wasn't the type to stop when the time was up. At my recent visit, I was asked if I had any pain. My lower back was hurting and the pain ran through my legs and I had difficult time sleeping due to that pain. I had it in the past so I figured it'll get better in time so I wasn't planning to share that with her at all since I was there for Pap smear. But she took her time to ask questions and figured out it was something she can help me with. She showed me how to stretch to relieve the pain. Ever since that appointment, I do my stretch and go to bed. I sleep so well now and I'm so grateful for her. It may have made other patients wait a bit longer but it really changed the quality of my everyday life. I thank Dr Geer for saving my life. Honestly, It was her instincts, attention to the details and her expertise that she ordered a biopsy for my irregular menstruation. My previous dr only ordered rx for birth control "to balance hormones" and it made everything worse. Dr Geer personally called with biopsy results and a personal referral to City of Hope Dr Amy Hakim the very next day! She personally called Dr Hakim and called me to let me know her office had my info and would be calling me to get me an appt that week. Never have I experienced such personal service from a doctor, ever! She called me to assure me I wasn't alone and she is available by cell if needed. Had she ignored and treated for hormone imbalance like my previous doctor and not biopsy the cancer could have been more invasive and out of control without knowing until it was much too late. Dr Geer also takes her time during appointments, truly pauses to listen to concerns and is extremely personable. So rare nowadays. I was previously a patient of Dignity Healthcare and basically just a number in their system. Her office staff Carol and Veronica are equally as awesome! I highly HIGHLY recommend Dr Geer! I really don't know where to start. I am beyond stressed about it. I had a referral from my GP because of my ultrasound results. They told me to pick a doctor and I picked Dr Geer because of all the good reviews. Scheduling was nice and easy and the receptionist seemed really nice. As soon as I walked into the office, the doctor was going out to run errands. What the heck? So it's 3 mins before my appt and your going out to run errands. The next red flag was the receptionist was confused about my referral and just had weird vibes. When the office assistant came in, it got weirder. They accused me of being sick because I have a cough due to asthma and made me feel really uncomfortable. They accused me of having a high temp despite the fact that IT WAS BURNING UP HOT IN THERE. Then they made me sit in the hot room for like a half hour before the doctor arrived. That was after sitting in the waiting room for 1 hour. Typically, when you get a Pelvic exam, they either consult you first and then give you time to undress and then do the exam, but this doctor wanted to sit here and ask a million questions while I sat there uncomfortable and sweating all over the paper gown top and napkin on my lap with my booty cheeks just peeking out the back because it wasn't even a full gown. She had the nerve to treat me like a child and say backhanded comments like "you did good for someone who was so uncomfortable". She had the nerve to ask me if I was "modest" because I didn't want to sit naked in my sweat while she went through the entire check in forms that she accused me of not filling out even though I filled out the online forms AND the ones that they asked me to print and bring for my appt. She also made me sanitize my hands 3 times, and gave me a a stuffed frog that had "superpowers". She had the nerve to ask me if I cared to know what the frogs superpower was. No I don't give af!!! The best part of the appt was when she referred me to another doctor because I don't ever want to see ever again!!! read more

It's really unfortunate and sad to see all the negative reviews about Dr. Geer and her office. In my opinion people are soft and can't handle the truth, the rawness, and real perspective that Dr. Geer provides. Something my wife and I love about her. She delivered our first baby 8 years ago, and then our second 2 weeks ago. Both times my wife experienced nothing but exceptional care from Dr. Geer and her staff. My wife's water broke two weeks early, she was scared and afraid. We came to Dr. Geer's office and she was nothing short of amazing with her. She calmly walked her through what the next steps were going to be and then literally held her hand through the whole experience. She even comforted me right before we walked into the delivery room. I felt completely at ease, and felt like no matter what my wife and baby were being taken care of. She preformed a c-section on my wife, and made it painless and easy for her. After the baby was born she was available for my wife day and night with any questions she had. Something you don't see often. She might not be for everyone, but you can expect is a Doctor that will go above and beyond, and really cares about her patients. She will tell you like it is, and won't sugar coat anything. At the end of the day she's in the business of delivering HEALTHY babies. She's not there to coddle your feelings, but instead let you know what you need to do to have a healthy, bright baby. If another child is in the cards for my wife and I, there isn't another doctor I would choose. Thank you Dr. Geer. P.s. to the man who thinks the vitamins Dr. Geer suggested your wife take....our first baby who is now 8 years old was on those vitamins the entire time my wife was pregnant. I have a TON of experience with doctors. Not only is my mom one but I've helped 7 family members through the aging process and counseled hundreds of clients with their doctors. I have read most of the reviews written about Dr. Geer and here's the TRUTH. Yes, she runs late but you will be told that when you call to make an appt. The ONLY reason she runs late is because she takes so much time with her patients. Bring a book or your laptop and plan for it. Good things are worth the wait. Yes, she's compassionate, direct and honest and cares deeply about the well-being of her patients. If you want a doctor who will sugarcoat what she tells you to protect your ego or spare your feelings, there are plenty of doctors to go to, Dr. Geer is not the right match for you. BUT if you want someone who will not only share her wisdom on so many levels but think in more layers and more thoughtfully than any doctor - other than my mom :) - Dr. Geer will be your favorite doctor. She may tell you things you don't want to hear, mostly about your lifestyle choices and how they are hurting your body even if you don't realize it. But she will do this in a supportive and empowering way. Yes, she will tell you about her nutritional supplements but ONLY for your benefit. Many of the vitamins and supplements out there are not the best quality and she has painstakingly done the research to find top quality products. Why waste your money on stuff that you won't absorb well? I have seen several GYN doctors over the past almost 40 years and they all pale in comparison. Starting with the positive, she is knowledgeable and thorough. But I can't believe how unorganized and unprofessional this office is. They always have a problem checking me in. Plan to be here 2-3 hours for a checkup. My appointment was at 8:45. At 10 she still wasn't in the building. No emergency, I asked. I am new to the area and needed a new Dr. I had been seeing the same Dr. in Los Angeles for years. This year I noticed that I had high estrogen for the last 4 years which is strange as I am post menopausal. My Los Angeles Dr. never said a word and after much back and forth, told me to wait 6 months to review the situation. I met Dr. Geer and she immediately went into action. She squeezed me in at the end of year for a biopsy and ultrasound. She thought that perhaps the high estrogen was coming from supplements so I stopped them for 2 weeks and did blood work. I am happy to share that the biopsy was negative and it appears that high estrogen was caused from supplements. Dr. Geer is caring, friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. I can't agree more with the other 5-star reviews that Dr. Geer has received. Hands down, she is one of the best gynecologists that I've ever seen. I live in Bermuda year round but have family in California that I visit once or twice per year. My last visit was in December 2021 - prior to flying out there I did a search to see if I could find a gynecologist near my family that offered the O-shot and I found Dr. Geer. So I called her office to make an appointment during the time I would be in California, not expecting to be able to talk to her directly. But not only did she get on the phone with me then to have a brief chat, but after hearing what my issues were she also offered to call me back later that evening in Bermuda after she was finished with her patients for the day (and on her dime taboot!) to discuss my issues and available treatments, including the O-shot. And we were on the phone that night for at least an hour! This is only 1 of many examples where since that first encounter with her, Dr Geer's gone out of her way to assist me in every way imaginable pre- and post my appointment with her. If you're looking for a doctor that is compassionate and a true medical advocate that is willing to be with you every step of the way on your journey to better health (especially if you've been searching for years like I have for a treatment that works), she's the one to go to! read more

This woman was a nightmare. Her office is BEAUTIFUL and staff is nice. You feel so great when you first walk in to the office. It all changes once you're officially her patient. I missed ONE appointment at 4 months and she wasn't having it when I went in for my next appointment. She immediately attacked me asking how I knew my baby was still alive, the damage I did by missing by one appointment! Uhm... yeah it was my first pregnancy but I felt just fine and my baby was kicking and there was nothing abnormal going on. In this same appointment she asked me to go to Los Robles Hospital for the tour and I told her I'd rather deliver at CMH because I had a previous negative experience at Los Robles when I was there for gall stones. She insisted, and she started talking derogatorily about CMH even though she was a provider there. When we were talking about genetic testing, and I opted out she asked "well how will you know if anything is wrong?" and "if something were wrong would you want to abort?" I WAS IN SHOCK. How dare she ask me those questions. I kindly told her I wanted my baby no matter how he came out. Whenever my at the time husband asked questions, she'd look down on him and even I felt like she ignored him and didn't care of his very valid first time parent questions. At 26 weeks, I decided I didn't want her to be my doctor anymore. I was afraid of her. I kept calling other OB's and nobody was taking me because I was already at 26 weeks. I called my mom desperately saying I was just going to have a home birth because I was so scared of her and nobody else would take me! She told me to call her OB from the 80s, Dr Terry Cole in Ventura, and he took me in, BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. He then delivered my second as well :) Anyways, Dr Cole's office requested my records, and I call to release them... they never sent them, even upon multiple requests. Spare yourself the time, money, fear... and do your research before choosing such an important doctor. I would give 0 stars if I could. I won't bore you with a long story. Bottom line, I felt as if Dr. Geer gets a kickback for every vitamin or pill she sells you. Her prenatal vitamins are the only brnad that's good enough for her. She will give you case studies why they are the best which might convince you to purchase. They cost over $50 and that's with a military discount. It comes in a pack of 10 pills!! Then she will sell you other pills if she feels. She tried to sell me Vitamin D (which she could have easily said sit outside for 15-30 min a day considering we live in sunny California. If she had it her way she would have a pregnant woman taking 11 pills! That's insane. I'm a healthy person might I add. I'm sick maybe 1 time every 2 years. Her wait time is a minimum of 2 hours. Having a 2 year old at the time and waiting 2 hours was a nightmare. Beware! Don't let her push all those pills on you! My new OBGYN said Doctors that push pills on you get a kick back in return $$. I am so sad to see all the horrible reviews on here because Dr. Geer really helped me. Before going to her I felt like I was the only woman with chronic problems down there and she reassured me that it is completely normal. She taught me how to self diagnose and that was super helpful! She genuinely cares about her patients and their well being. Many people on here say that she gives too many vitamins, but vitamins are so important considering that all things related to vaginal problems come from imbalances. She goes to the root of the source and beyond! My wife and I were so lucky to have found Dr. Cheryl Geer. Dr. Geer treated, supported, and constantly checked on us throughout the course of both pregnancies (Yuzu in 2015, & Koto in 2017). Dr. Geer absolutely does not rush through her patients but rather takes all the time needed to make sure the patients leave feeling very comfortable. The office is always very clean. Coffee is readily available both leaded and decaf, different types of tea's, and even supplements from Metagenics that can be purchased on location. If we ever decide to have a third child (I doubt I can handle another), we would definitely go right back to Dr. Geer. The experience was absolutely wonderful! read more

If I could give Dr. Geer a 0 I would. I waited over two hours the last time I needed to see her, and I need to in order to get a refill before my trip, before that an hour and a half. The only reason she is okay with me waiting is because I am not pregnant and don't have a child with me. I feel that I should still be treated like I am still an important patient. She wrote a new prescription which I had difficulties with, and refused to answer the phone personally even though I could hear her in the back ground. While sitting in the waiting room, I could hear the staff talking poorly about other patients and this was very disturbing. I have never been to a more unprofessional doctor setting. I don't write a lot of reviews and when I do I want to give credit where it is due. This place did not live up to 4stars, hence me only rating it one star. Let me explain. I called to schedule an appointment with dr Greer because I found a lump in my boob that was pretty painful. Looked on yelp and called 8am sharp. They immediately got me in the same day (Yes!!). I show up to my appointment and i wait in the waiting room for 20 minutes (which was not a big deal; I was just happy they got me in). Doctor finally comes in and ask me about my last annual which was almost a year but not quite. She ask me if I want to do one today; I say sure but I have this bump and she says that We will get to that later. After the exam she asked me if there was anything else I mention the bump she looks at it and is surprised. JUST BECAUSE IM NOT SITTING THEIR CRYING DOESN'T MEAN IT ISN'T IMPORTANT!! After she finally addresses the reason why I am there in the first place... she sends me to a specialist (specialist was great!). Next appointment, I wait in the waiting room for 25 minutes. Then when doctor arrives she is rushing me. No apology or even acknowledgement. I try to talk to her about my concerns but instead of listening she tells me how great she is and how knowledge she is. She is completely ignoring my verbal and non verbal cues regarding having questions. I left worse and with more concerns than when I came! Before my last appointment I called to see if the doctor was running late or if they needed to change my appointment. Since the two earlier appointments had been untimely. I was told the doctor was not running late. Last appointment, I wait in the waiting room for 30 minutes. Then I'm called back to undress and speak with doctor. I sit In the patient room with just that very light sheet on for an additional 20 minutes. The doctor comes in and is surprised to see me (she went in the wrong room); doctor tells me she will be right back. Then she goes into the room next to me and starts speaking with the patient in the next room (the patient that arrived after me). I could hear their conversation (since the rooms shared the same wall), I couldn't believe this was actually happening... I sat there in shock to 5-7 minutes then got dressed. I informed the front desk lady I was leaving and she responded "if it makes it better you are next." How can a doctor treat their patients with such a low degree of respect for their time and comfort. So sad. Will not return or recommend. read more

I love Dr. Geer. I moved roughly 100 miles away from her and I still drive to see her. Honestly, I would hop on a plane if it meant keeping her as my doctor. She actually listens to you. She doesn't interrupt every third word assuming she knows what you are going to say or try to rush you along. She never makes any of my fears or worries feel worthless. I see a lot of women complain about the long wait to see her. This has never bothered me. All this means is that she takes the time with every patient and never rushes you. Bring a book and enjoy her beautiful waiting room. Why on earth would waiting bother me when I know it means I will be able to have my turn as long as I need. Giving this provider a single star is generous. I would have been a new patient today, but it didn't happen. Why? Well, after waiting more then 1 hour and 15 minutes, wearing a paper gown (again being generous), while sitting in an over heated exam room waiting some more, I finally gave up. Put my clothes back on, collected my paperwork and left. Any woman knows that the annual visit is dreaded, and we hope that it goes smooth, and we are out of the office before we know it. I waited for soooo long, in a room, stripped down to nothing, and still decided that the hassel of finding another physician would be better then this experience. Even knowing the possibility of it happening again. Does that not say enough? I mean to be in the paper gown and still choose to leave? Ugh. As though the waiting wasn't enough, the exam rooms must be constructed from tissue paper. Why? I could hear EVERYTHING happening around me. I could even hear the paper gown being opened by the young woman in the next room! I wonder if she stayed? There is NO confidentiality here. On a side note, the waiting room has a water feature that is burbling water and swishing. I remember being pregnant and having to pee often, I cant imagine what that stupid things does for the pregnant women who surely will have to wait, and wait, and wait.... read more

It saddens me to have to post this because Dr. Geer is a nice person, but the general consensus on her time management is just unacceptable. I've waited for hours on several occasions. The biggest issue I most recently experienced was, when I went to her last I told her that I was experiencing adverse reactions with my current birth control pill and wanted a full hormone panel. She agreed. After she missed our last phone appointment (COVID) by three hours, I refused to reschedule and took my bloodwork to another doctor just to learn the panel she ordered were all vitamins!!! Not even one hormone check. This was so disappointing as selfishly I feel she did this to sell her own line of vitamins. Will be finding another OB. read more

Absolutly horrible! I would give zero stars if possible! :( Her office waits take forever, she does pricey procedures for no reason, pushes for drug for profit, and ask bizarre questions that a doctor should never ask. The last time I visited her, she tested me for an infection, said assumed what it was without testing it, and have me a cream that gave me contact dermatitis. She just assumed that it was the infection and not a skin issue and kept shouting at me to do the cream routine even though that's the reason i got the dermatitis in the first place. When I was in the worst pain, she ended up not being their to train for vaginal plastic surgery. She told me to go to Dr Poliakin till she gets back, and after going to him, I never went back to her, best decision ever. She kept calling me after that trying to get me to do appointments and kept filling drugs that I didn't want from her anymore, it just felt like a really pathetic and desperate attempt to get me back. Dr. Geer has been the very best doctor I've ever been to, and far and away better than other OBGYNs I've been to in Camarillo. And I've been to see her a lot this past year! She oversaw my high-risk pregnancy: always asking the right questions, scheduling many ultrasounds, steering me to the best hospital, and offering me options while leaving it open to me if I wanted to take them (e.g. the vitamins are available there, and there's some genetic testing options, but she leaves it up to the patient). She's also down-to-earth and funny to boot! Most important of all, because of her guidance and expertise, I now have a healthy 1-month-old baby after a really heathy pregnancy. I needed a repeat c-section (my first was an emergency one) and not only was it completely easy and not at all scary, she went above and beyond and even cleaned up some scar tissue that the previous c-section had left so I could avoid complications later in life. Instead of quick staples, she took the extra time to give me stitches (both safer and better looking). She came to see me every day in the hospital after the surgery. I was home on the 3rd day and within the first week, was walking to the park with my 4-year-old and the new baby. As for the office wait, there is sometimes a wait, but this is because she gives as much time to each patient as they need. It is worth waiting (or, just calling ahead to know if I should come in a little later-- a great option!) if it means I can ask all my questions and never feel rushed when I'm meeting with her. I have no clue. Once is enough!! then same day of my long awaited scheduled appointment they asked me if I could go in with in 20 minutes of calling me. When I called back and went to explain why I was calling I was told "yeah yeah yeah and?" as in to hurry up. SO FUCKING RUDE!!!! But like a fool, I went ahead and rescheduled for July 30 to try and accommodate THEM!!!! only for them to call me a few days later and tell me that they have to reschedule my appointment!!!! I went to Dr. Geer for a second opinion for having a hysterectomy. The first appointment I was told to call prior as she usually runs late, so I was happy to have that prior notice. Even though I had to wait longer than I would have liked, it was completely worth it . Dr. Geer is very pleasant, extremely knowledgeable with current research and the most important, patiently answered all of my questions. She confirmed after looking at my ultrasound results that I should indeed have a hysterectomy. It wasn't like, oh, yes, you need major abdominal surgery. We thoroughly discussed various surgical options and reasons why things were causing me discomfort. I felt so comfortable with her that I ended up choosing her instead of who my primary care physician recommended. The second appointment was with my husband and he was very impressed with her knowledge and explanation of not only what was going on with my uterus, but also details of the surgery and post-op care. While we waited, I enjoyed the massage chair and complimentary tea and water. If you read this and do make an appointment at least you have a heads up to bring reading material or something to entertain yourself while waiting. There is also free Wi-Fi available. The morning of my surgery she again explained the procedure and was comforting. After the surgery she visited me in the hospital and again was very kind and set my mind at ease about recovery concerns I had. I recently saw her for my 6 week post-op surgery appointment. She was not only pleased I was doing so well, but she is an advocate for full body health. Dr. Geer cares about one's overall health which to me is important because it wasn't just take your uterus out and move on. She is very caring and nurturing. Even though I visited her office for gynecological issue, it was always a pleasure to see the hundreds of baby cards that fill her office. I think she mentioned delivering over 6,000 babies. Those birth announcements, birthday party cards and holiday photo cards show so much love and joy that she has helped create for many families. Wonderful! Lastly, Tina and Jamie her assistants are very nice and on top of things in that office. From appointments to insurance authorization approvals to information about my surgery and patiently answering all my other questions--these ladies are outstanding. Cheryl is an absolutely amazing doctor. She delivered our son Chase and our beautiful twins Tanner and Tessa. We have 4 children and Dr. Geer delivered our last 3. I can tell you without a reasonable doubt that the women that have her as their physician are very, very lucky. I wish my doctor was as attentive and compassionate as Cheryl has been with my wife. She made a very, very stressful C-Section with Twins seem like a walk in the park.. making us feel very comfortable throughout the way and even playing my wife's choice of music in the delivery room to set her mind at ease. If you've given Cheryl a 1 star review you honestly don't deserve to have this wonderful person as your physician. Dr Geer is the best!!!! Dr Geer delivered my twins via c-section and I had the easiest recovery due to her great care for me. With such great care from Dr Geer, I was able to carry my twins all the way to 38 weeks with no bed rest. I literally worked the day before my c-section. She was amazing during and after the c-section as well. After only a couple days post surgery I was up and back to my almost normal self. My scar also healed beautifully. Dr. Geer is going to deliver my first baby this weekend. Of course I am nervous to be a first time mom, but I feel so safe knowing she will be there with me and delivering her. Yes, she often is behind in schedule, but she will never make you feel rushed or leave your questions unanswered.
