It's our second time here and it's now our tradition to stop in because it's a fun spot to get out and look around at all the inspired alien trinkets they have. It's kind of like you stepped into a store if aliens exist. They have alien mugs, alien jerky, alien souvenirs, and all the goodies. Their jerky is really good. The ones we've gotten have been really tender and moist. It is well stocked and it gets pretty busy in there but the workers are pretty quick through the line. Stopped at the store on the way back from Vegas. 6/21/25I'm not sure if they had a sewer main line stoppage where the jerky is dried but I've had multiple people try the peppered beef jerky and they all say it's horrible and tastes how sewage smells. Tourist Trap! Don't Get me wrong, if you've never been, it's neat to stop and look. But dang, the jerky- small quantity and on the pricy side. Some of the jerky tasted very acidic; like the lemon pepper. No lemon or pepper taste. Just very artificial acidic taste to it. It was very off putting. There is so much junk in there it's almost overwhelming. Expect to pay more for basic candy, nuts, and drinks. There was a loooonng line of people waiting to pay. I can't believe I've never left a review for this spot, it's been around forever and I just have stopped here half a dozen times over the years driving to Vegas. This last time I was quite surprised and impressed with the changes! The jerky is delicious, each and every one I've tried over the years. I love the variety of fun sodas and kick ass brand hot sauces and other stuff. Tourist trap. More so, drive through trap lol. We often drive to Las Vegas (my in laws love there) from San Diego at night so the kids sleep but for some reason we decided to do it during the day. To let the little out and stretch their legs, we decided to stop here. From the outside there's giant aliens and a neat looking building. My husband and I had never been there and decided to stop. I'm not sure what we were expecting, maybe some kind of small alien type museum for tourists in the middle of nowhere? Anyways we got the kids out and looked at the aliens outside, aliens in the car etc. I think we were expecting more of that type of stuff inside. It's just a store inside. Basically a ton of jerky, some honey, sodas, snacks, rocks/crystals and a bunch of alien merchandise like cups, shirts, stuffed animals. Unless you're in the market for random alien things or snacks, keep on going. The kids thought the stuff outside was neat. In the back there's another building that looks kind of like an old school theater ticket counter and some construction behind that. I believe they may be adding a small hotel back there but not close to being done at the moment. Anyways, I'm giving it 3 stars bc it was nothing I expected, nor other people (I heard a few more people walk in and say, oh it's just a store??) but it's fine as a little convenience type store if that's just what you need, then it's fine. read more

Road trip must see! We always stop by Alien Fresh Jerky on a trip to or from Las Vegas. Over the years I've seen it expand and become a super popular attraction. I swear there is a new addition or building expansion every time I've stopped by. Even the flavor options have expanded. My personal favorite is the Honey Teriyaki and Whiskey jerky. They are known for their jerky and of course, alien themed decor, but the store offers so much more. Every alien themed item you can think of is available here: toys, candy, pens, drinks, shirts, and even sand from the moon. Looks like there might be a hotel or other attraction piece coming soon by the looks of the construction in the back. I'm here for all of it. The only disappointing part of the shop was the bathroom situation. With such a high turnover of traffic, you think they would have a restroom cleaning schedule that is frequent. Instead, there are signs to NOT flush used toilet paper. Heaps of stinky, used toilet paper has the trash bins full and quite disgusting. I would rather see a clean restroom and not deal with the stench than waive my hands under fancy Dyson hand dryers. Hoping the restroom situation is resolved before my next visit. I would hate for this to tarnish a regular experience. read more

Every time we go by this place, it seems to have gotten bigger with more decorations and massive buildings. My hubby absolutely loves the variety of choices for jerky here as he loves trying wild and new flavors. He loves everything from habanero to teriyaki. We've even tried weird jerkers like alligator and rabbit (personally not a fan). The workers are always nice and helpful. My only complaint, no bathroom, which if you are traveling back and forth between Vegas and California that's a real bummer. As far back as I could remember driving to Las Vegas from LA, I have stopped in Baker the majority of the time for a quick rest before getting to Vegas. Or a coffee stop on the way home. There have been many times I have said, "Wow, jerky is perfect for long drives!" And I said it again this stop. The difference this visit was how much they've upgraded their store! Having lived in Honolulu the past 10 years, I haven't made this drive to see the changes earlier. It wasn't much before and now they really went all out with their theme. It's real cool and I didn't initially think to get jerky at 10am in the morning, but the sight caught my eye and I had to check it out. I picked up a few packs. Lemon Pepper, Pineapple Teriyaki, and Habenero. Can't ever go wrong with jerky. Keeping focused while eating jerky helps to keep me up for the drive. After passing this place for over a decade, we finally decided to stop and roam around. It's definitely a fun little road side attraction & a good place to stretch and use clean restrooms on your route to & from Vegas, but beyond that, it's somewhat of a disappointment. I was really looking forward to a wide range of jerky. They have maybe 10? A Dozen? That's it. And they just repeat those flavors over and over and over again along the walls. And they are absolutely charging a premium for them! It's fine jerky, but not something I will be willing to pay the upcharge for in the future. So if you want to experience something 'fun' for the kids (or the inner kid) check this place out. They're currently building "the mother ship" outside. I don't know if that's going to be a restaurant or more retail or what, but once that is done it will be yet another thing to kinda roam around. This place looks really cool on the outside! Totally a cool place to stop by between long drives and take the kids. They have jerky, claw machines, music, other souvenirs and much more. They have big rocks you can touch as well so that's are cool to look at as well as buy. Everything is alien, obviously so a cool place for kiddos. The jerky is pick and choose. We got two (which they had/have a deal for!) one was chewy and tender and the other was hard not as tender. Still good flavors though. I'd say come here to take a break from driving but also as a cool stop. It's located next to the biggest thermometer as well so you can check out that too! The cashier isn't much for conversation though and seemed like she just wanted to get the day done with so that kind of sucked but thankfully the guests were chatty and joking so it kind of saved the last of our trip here. Everything is great except the service, she also doesn't answer any questions you have so you're just going to have to know everything about the store before you go. This is a fun pit stop. Nice store and clean restrooms. Lots of cool things inside the store to look at. We loved looking at the : - jerky selection - rock shop - honey selection - alien plushie selection - candy selection - alien souvenir selection It's easy to rack up $$$ here. Especially when there's no free samples so we just winged it. We purchased 5 different types of jerky and here's our review of them: Honey Teriyaki - the kid that loves honey loved this flavor, so it's hers Sweet & Spicy - On a scale of 1 to 5, it's a 3 in spiciness. The husband that loves sweet and spicy food loves this flavor, so it's all his. Pineapple Teriyaki - the kid that loves pineapple pizza loved this flavor, so it's all hers Road Kill - kind of bland, not much flavor, but the dog loves it Lemon Pepper - my favorite, just the right amount of lemon flavor, not very peppery. Everyone seems to like this flavor so I have to share. In the end, everyone walked away with a bag they love. The only catch, we have to finish the entire bag in 3 days. We also bought banana gummy candy (sooo good). Cute tin mint collectables, and 3 jars of avocado honey (this is a RARE find!!). It would have been a 5 star rating if the service was better. The line was long to check out and my two tourmaline got tossed in a bag with all the other items I got and they started chipping apart and there was tourmaline all over the bag. TOURIST TRAP FOR SURE BUT SUPER COOL! We stopped in Baker on our way home from Vegas and had to go inside this place and check it out. I've had the jerky in plenty of stores around Southern California but never been to the home of it. Everything here is overpriced, but the jerky is worth almost every penny. I personally love the sweet and spicy. They say the honey teriyaki is their best seller and it is delicious but I like a little bit of bite in my jerky. The ghost pepper stuff will burn you up if you are into that sort of damage. Anyhow, pics attached. Staff was friendly. Cool place with TONS of good stuff from souvenirs, beef jerky, peanuts, candies, sodas and 100's of hot sauces you could easily spend a good hour just roaming around here. Usually people passing to go to vegas stop here to explore this store in baker california. Oh, the world's largest thermometer is here. The jerky is pretty good. My main thing is i come to collect the hot sauces and cool soda cans. They have an alien filled car and an alien rocket ship outside. Pretty cool if this is your first time visiting. You have LOTS of good places to take a picture but in the summer time it can be HOT right when you open the door you can definitely feel it. Always a great experience, until today. Was there just over a week ago and had recieved a military discount. Today March 20th I was told it was never there, but all te years I swear that's why I stop there and nowhere else. Also the cashier Priscilla had the worst attitude. Ok so here's another place that I found out about via social media. So many people have posted photos from this rather interesting place in the middle of the desert. Aliens and jerky don't seem to mesh well in the same sentence but it sure is a cute concept! First of all, Alien Fresh Jerky is basically a location that markets itself quite well. When you pull into the parking lot, you'll see a spaceship out front. As you walk around the exterior of the building you'll see that it's reminiscent of an 80s sci fi movie. It's a little cheesy but I totally dug the cheesiness of it all. The green alien waving outside while standing next to the space mobile was pretty cute. After exploring around outside, it was time to venture inside to see what they had to offer. First of all, they don't have as much jerky as you'd think. They seemed to only carry beef jerky and an empty bag of "invisible jerky". The only other food items that they had were different varieties of nuts and candy. They had a ton of alien souvenirs ranging from plushies to t-shirts. Of course, you'll find little trinkets such as magnets and keychains. There was an alien machine and a couple of machines with replicas of the last two presidents. Put money in the machines and you'll be slightly entertained. Finally don't forget to take your photo on the bench with the alien flashing the peace sign. It's in the center of the store so you can't miss it. Alien Fresh Jerky is basically all about creative marketing. They know that humans have a fascination with aliens or the possibility of another life form being present on another planet. That's what makes this place so popular. It's cheesy, cute, and slightly strange. Basically, I loved it! Ahahaha!!! You only live once so check it out for yourself. At the very least, you'll be entertained and grab some tasty snacks as you make your next destination, wherever that may be. read more

From the name, the whole store is based on this concept. There are lots of alien themed merchandise and decorations. But of course they specialize in the jerky. Cool stop to stretch out and they have clean bathrooms for customers. Looks like they have big plans in the back with a theme park looking set up and structures being built but it's not finished yet. In the store they do have some cool fun stuff to look at, lots of alien theme stuff but we were disappointed in the lack of flavor on the jerky. We chose whiskey bourbon and it really had no flavor at all. Of course it's over priced jerky too so that's what made the lack of flavor disappointing. The jerky is DRY and extremely overpriced. The jerky is so dry that it's practically INEDIBLE. One of my bags actually had MOLD but I didn't notice until I was far away. They clearly don't have high enough turnover to get fresh product. The flavors are also not very distinct from each other. On top of that, I learned that this business DOES NOT WELCOME ASIANS. I do not support RACISM against anyone so I won't be coming back. The only thing this place has going for it is stale photo ops that haven't changed throughout the years.
