When you see them and seem tempted... DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT drive out of your way to come here. It's an alien center on the outside and junk store on the inside. Jerky, hot sauces, alien swag, drinks, snacks, souvenir penny machine and some photo ops. Nothing special and just a bad excuse to spend too much money on junk/souvenirs you don't need, but no judgement here... if that's your thing, GET IT GIRL (or boy lol)! Just like the tallest thermometer across the street, it's only worth stopping if it's in route to your destination and need to pee, want a good laugh or need a snack or souvenir! read more

My husband has a thing for this place and must stop on the way thru. They have a lot of unique things and it's a pretty interesting place to stop if you need to stretch your legs or a snack but it most definitely is overpriced! It's always crowded too! For me, it's a check it out once kind of thing for the experience then skip it, but my husband loves it, so we stop when we are in the area. read more

I've been going here since it opened in 2000. My grandparents used to pick me up for spring, summer, and winter break from Vegas to Santa Ana. So naturally we would stop there. I admit that it is a little pricey but I think it's delicious. Thet have a lot more flavors now than when they first opened. Some are dry and some are wet because of the flavors and seasoning. Worth stopping by at least once! It's a very silly but creative space. The shop itself is a massive armed tank, and there's a massive UFO establishment being built right behind it. There are even two alien battle machines -- a back-to-the-future-esque car and a star-wars-esque fighter -- out in front and a great number of alien figures, branding, and imprints. * The actual jerky itself is mediocre, but there's a selection of jerky flavors to pick from -- I may have just picked the wrong one. * (This is a joke, but) they even sell invisible jerky! See attached picture. Despite that, I'd still recommend dropping by, just for the creativity alone. The store has a number of souvenirs you could bring back home, and right outside is also a massive thermometer to check out. Failing all else, it's at least a unique rest spot. A fun and unique place to visit! The decorations are great and make for an entertaining stop. Despite the high volume of visitors, the store was clean. I highly recommend trying the Grass-fed jerky--specifically the Honey Teriyaki, Sweet & Spicy, and Peppered flavors. They aren't part of the store promotions, but they are gluten-free and taste really good; definitely worth a try. My only suggestion is that they should be stricter with bathroom access for non-customers, as it can get crowded. Overall, a great experience! read more

Came in because I love aliens , love the look. It's super cute. They do have a lot of different things inside, from sauces to crystals to shirts everything you can think of. But it's expensive. The beef jerky was weird. It didn't feel hard but when you chewy it, it was hard. The taste was not it. Over all 0 stars. The shot glass is pretty heavy. I like that. And nice design. Out of this world fun!!! Great special effects and a galaxy full of treats and alien artifacts to see. The Honey Teriyaki Beef Jerky is my favorite so far!!! Stopped in with the family on our way to California and had a great time! Alien Fresh Jerky is such a fun and quirky place to visit, perfect for road trip photos and snacks. This place had one assignment: Have good jerky. With all the highway signs and hype, you would think they would have the best jerky around. But nope. The jerky is so moist, it has the texture of a wet Salisbury steak that's been marinating in gravy. We bought 4 different flavors. All were the same wet texture. All jerky should be dry or slightly moist when you chew it- not soft and paste-like. I was actually quite shocked, as high quality jerky is supposed to be their jam- fresh as it may be. Granted, the variety of flavors they have are many, but it's really just typical tourist trap label marketing with the final product as an afterthought. The alien themed gift shop is fun, but it's trying way too hard to be Roswell, NM. And it's literally a playground of untethered children when it's busy. The line was 30 people deep when we visited on a Sunday at 1pm. And there was easily over 100 people inside. Very loud and chaotic. But also kind of fun too. I have to give Alien Fresh some acknowledgment and props for trying to do something different. Price point is to be expected. If the jerky was higher quality than say, a gas station... it would actually be priced really good. And for those unfortunate souls who actually like Alien Fresh's paste-like texture jerky, I guess you score here. But, for those who understand there are basic, not hard to reach levels to good jerky, Alien is below a typical gas station jerky quality- so the price point is about 30% above what it's worth. Bottom line- The jerky here sucks and Baker sucks; but Alien Fresh Jerky is an interesting experience and not a bad place to check out once, if you have the time or if you want to feed your dog. The employees were nice and plenty and you'll get a big dose of people watching here, likened to the lobby of Circus Circus. read more

This place is so cool. It's like being stuck in the middle of nowhere with these aliens. If you haven't been here before you should make it one of your stops if you're driving from LV to LA. It's actually a convenience store where you can pick up drinks and snacks. They're known for their beef jerky. They have many different flavors. I picked up lemon pepper and honey teriyaki. Wow, this place definitely has changed for a little hole in the wall stop to a pretty cool attraction. We didn't have too much time but it looks like there was a museum or something in the back but it may have been closed or only open during the weekends, possibly. The jerky isn't the best I had but it's good. The name definitely makes it a good gift to hand out. There are little selfies with the aliens for this selfie folks out there. The building itself is like an alien rover craft. There were two alien vehicles you can take photos with as well. Lots of random trinkets for souvenirs. And it's a good pit stop if you have kids. They do have a lot of interesting items or flavors I've never seen elsewhere so that extra $ is for the unique variety. 3.25 Oz Honey Teriyaki Jerky ($12): This had good flavors but the jerky is a bit hard. Definitely not worth nor the best jerky I had. I honestly think the Golden Island Korean BBQ pork jerky is better. Peanut Brittle Candy ($5): Tastes as it sounds. The brittle isn't overwhelmingly sweet and is balanced out by the peanut taste. Tequila Pistachios ($6): The shell is coated but I didn't taste tequila. This makes my heart happy! We rarely go to Vegas but when we do - this is a must stop. I was ecstatic to see the mother ship's construction is well on its way, as well, it's supporting logistical buildings. In all seriousness, the future alien hotel/attraction/whatever it ends up being is well on its way to completion! Inside, it has been remodeled; a few additional products added. Always entertaining! Want jerky made by aliens from Area 51? Then Baker, California has an extra terrestrial space station complex brimming with mostly jerky and chile hot sauce. Two Alien Fresh Jerky for $20. Not a deal, but what the hell? Space Alien paraphernalia such as hats, t-shirts, sweat shirts, stuffed toys, lanyards, candies, soft drinks, etc.  Not wanting dust gathering tschotchkes,  I bought Alien Fresh Southwest Hot Beef Jerky that had a salty-sweet, moist, softer texture with a good slow yet powerful chile induced burn. Ingredients included Japanese Teri Yaki sauce, and it's Southwestern???  Well, why not?  Looks like an on going expansion is  underway with a fast food flying saucer space station and a huge building that has a temporary sign about a new family center of some sort. "NOTE: There is something else you should know about Alien Fresh Jerky human, every single slice is hand-made in America, by Americans with 100% American steak. No fillers, trimmings, scraps, "beef dust",  glues, or any other "shortcuts" have been used to produce our mouthwatering jerky."  I support U.S. made products employing fellow Americans.  Heard from a reliable source that years ago Alien Fresh Jerky attempted to buy the property housing the World's Tallest Thermometer and tear it down instead of refurbishing back to its former glory.  This short sighted move would have wiped out a Baker landmark. Thankfully, the original family that constructed the thermometer recovered the property and renovated the iconic structure.     Alien Fresh Jerky is a Total Tourist Trap, but it is part of the Baker Trinity....Temp 134 Gift Shop hosting the World's Tallest Thermometer and The Mad Greek Taverna which has good Pistacchio (pees tah kee oh) Baklava pastry.   Good place to stretch your legs between Las Vegas and Los Ángeles. I've been to this location over 10 times, so I decided to write a review. I've never had any issues with this place. There really isn't anything special about this place yet, as it's still under construction. I typically get the tequila lime pistachios and sometimes some beef jerky. I usually go here when I'm heading back home from Vegas. I recommend this place. read more
