She asked at the beginning where my trouble areas were, and I mentioned it was the whole right side of my body, but mainly on my leg and ankle. She focused on the right side of my back a little, but mainly my legs and feet, after the general first phase of the massage. The oil she uses also moisturizes your skin for days and you can get a salt scrub enhancer--which softens skin, dramatically, in the area you choose to use it on. However, next time, I think I will do a 30 minute massage with no enhancements--for a more cost effective option--since, the Groupon is only for first time customers. I looked around on Yelp for a massage place to work out the knot, and chose Performance Bodyworks because they had good reviews, and were focused on the physio- side, not the spa side, They were able to squeeze me in Tuesday for a 1 hr massage. Fernanda did the massage. And I will admit: The massage was painful at time -- I had some really bad knots. I was also unsure about the cupping. But... from that night on, I was able to sleep in bed, and as things calmed down from the insult of breaking the cramp, it really started to make things feel better. So looking back a week later, I'm really pleased. An hour of deep muscle massage made the rest of the week bearable (and it was so much better than the mall massage I had gotten before). I will remember massages like this in the future when muscles really cramp up, and if we're back in the Coachella Valley when it happens, I'll give these folks a call.
