We were still hungry so we split the smash burger and fries and in retrospect due to the prices and quantities of the small plates and how good the burger was I would probably just get that in the future. We also tried the carrots and they were underwhelming, I had high hopes for their flavor and they were good not great. I'd come back again and I'm glad we finally made it here. The wings were cooked perfectly, on the crispy side like we like. All flavors were good but I loved the jerk dry rub. And dipped in the homemade ranch... COME ON. For a meal that came to over $220, I expected a much better dining experience. It wasn't just slow service--it felt like we were forgotten at times. I did speak with the restaurant manager, Zach, and I truly appreciate how he handled the situation. He listened, was sincere, apologized, and genuinely cared about our experience. His professionalism left a positive impression, and I'm grateful he took the time to address our concerns. Crown Tavern has an incredible kitchen and serves amazing food, which is why it's disappointing that the service didn't reflect the same standard. I sincerely hope this is addressed because I'd hate for other guests to leave feeling the way we did. If I were rating the food alone, it would easily be 5 stars. A little background here; I was really torn between ordering this versus the broiled haddock. In hindsight, I kinda wish I had gone with the latter because fish n' chips can be hit or miss, depending on how they're done. This one was okay, though I can't tell if the piece of fish they used was just hella small or if it was the batter that was throwing me off. In either case, it seemed thinner than most fried cod or haddock I've had up there. This tends to result in the end pieces of fish being slightly overcooked whilst the center was mostly fine. I dunno. It only makes me wonder how their broiled haddock would have turned out. Grading on a curve, I'll give this one a 7 out of 10. All said, I would definitely return here and try several other items on the menu, actually. I already mentioned one, but another that I'm curious about is their steak & cheese. Sadly, it'll have to wait till I happen to be back in the neighborhood again, given the 40ish minute drive from our place.
