Came in at 4:30 on a Wednesday. Located in the Phenix Salon 1st suite on the left. Room is clean & cozy. Ali greeted me in the front & we went to her suite. I had to wait to get on the spa table as the break is broken. She joked about not wanting it to fly into the wall. I purchased the lash lift & tint thur Groupon for $56. Ali asked if I've had lifts before and I let her know yes, years ago. She stated she's had trouble with the lifts taking on customers. I should've read all the reviews as it seems to be a lot of customers. I'm use to the person cleaning off lashes, and taping bottom lashes. Then measuring the rod to see which fit. We went with a small and she said she had to tape my lashes as my lashes didn't fit on the rod. I'm not sure what she is using but getting lash lifts for 6 years never had an issue. So she tapes my lashes and applied the solution. She puts a timer on for 9 minutes. After she puts the tint on and asked if it burns. Which it didn't. I asked about brow lamination/tint and she said we could do it for $50 as she charges more on her site. Then she did a brow/lip wax. After she showed me my results and they seemed off. She must have seen my facial expression because she said oh we can't brush or get them went for 24-72 hours. Later on in the day my lashes started to burn and not even look like a lift. Then the brown lamination/tint was clumped and didn't take as well. $76 gone for services that didn't take. Wax was good but everything else is disappointing. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with my experience. First, the shape of my brows was always asymmetrical, despite asking her multiple times to fix it. The ink also turned blue after a short time, which is unacceptable. Second, her attitude was unprofessional. She constantly complained about other customers and was unresponsive when I tried to communicate with her. She asked me to pay in advance for a second touch-up, which I regret doing. After my bad experience, I decided not to proceed with the service and requested a refund for the additional payment (not the Groupon). She completely ignored my messages and kept insisting the Groupon is non-refundable, even though this payment was separate. I would NOT RECOMMEND this service to anyone. read more

Beyond amazing work and personality! It was easy to book through her website and contacting her through text made it very convenient and easy. She responded right away. I also had some additional questions about other treatments she does and she was beyond helpful and guided me in the right direction. A little side note she was very helpful and accommodating, because for some reason I thought my appt was at 2 but no it was at 1, and well she called me to see if I was close by. I found Ali through a Groupon deal. Saw the other great reviews here and decided to give it a try. At first I couldn't find the place because it was inside the Phoenix Salon. I actually received a text from Ali explaining this but I didn't read it thoroughly lol my bad. Ali's suite was nice a cozy. Everything looked clean and the brazilian wax wasn't too painful. It would have probably been pain-free if I had kept up with my waxes. Ali herself is very genuine and is easy to talk to. I love it when there's conversation throughout the wax so that I can take my mind off of the pain. I am very, very pleased with the service Ali provided. I went in for my first wax (runner and I wear compression so this helps). First, he spa offers privacy and is setup very nicely. She was very reassuring as we went through the process. Purchased a groupon online and that's how I discovered Ali's salon . Groupon was very affordable for a Brazilian wax and Ali had good reviews on groupon . Since there are no reviews on yelp I'll be the first to share ! Ali runs her own business which is wonderful . This is not a typical waxing salon . I didn't know this at first so that is why I mention it . The phone number is her personal number as well as business so it is not like calling a regular salon to make an appointment . I actually used her online system called style seat I believe . It was pretty efficient in booking appointments . I recommend texting Ali as the best method of contact . I emailed her about a concern with my groupon and booking at did not receive a reply . I also called her that se day and did not get an answer until I texted her . Another thing to note is that this location has multiple independent stylists . And the building is not called Ali cat spa. I did not know that either when arriving at my appointment . Meeting Ali in person was great and I would totally give her 5 stars for her quality of work . The Brazilian was pain less and I have had several so I would know . My main reason for giving 4 stars is the communication aspect of the experience . I guess since she is independent and does not have her own studio it was different experience for me then where I usually go . I felt like it was difficult to contact her at first and it may have been because it was after the holidays but I was still concerned since the online booking does request a credit card before your appointment . I also texted her the morning of my appointment asking if she had time to do a quick brow wax but I did not get a response . I would have appreciated a "no " or an offer to schedule one at a later time but I received no response .It would have also been nice to have a few more logistical details after setting up my appointment . I booked a 3 Brazilian wax package Groupon with Ali Cat and used the first one awhile back. I didn't come back for several weeks because I got busy with life. When I tried to come back, she said the Groupon wouldn't count towards the cost of the wax because they only counted if I used them every 4 weeks in a row. However, that was never stated on the Groupon or by her in my first visit. Very shady business actions. Additionally, when I first got a wax done by her she skipped quite a bit of the inner hair and I got more in grown hairs than usual. I would rate her 2.5/5 just based on waxing skills. Bought a Groupon for 3 facial services. Ali noticed how terrifying my skin looks, so she offered to make it into a 4 services broken up into 2 sessions instead, at no additional cost. The whole process was practically painless (including an enzyme/chemical-peel too) and the my acne scars have significantly improved. Additionally, the look of my keloid scars has also flattened and brightened noticeably. Furthermore, the conversation I had with her throughout the whole process was very personable and relaxing. I'll definitely be back and I may bring my mother here when she visits AZ. ---- Update after my second visit: My acne has practically gone. It is something that persisted and costed me tons of money over the past five years (multiple dermatologists and many recommended products online). Other than that, I was very satisfied with my experience. In the morning, I got a text from Ali to remind me of my upcoming appointment.
