Salad, hummus, basmati rice

They go above and beyond for their clients. They were so friendly over the phone and even gave me recommendations. Ali Baba's good reviews don't lie- the food was excellent, homemade, and catered with care. They set up our party's table for us when they arrived right on time. Salad and dressing are very refreshing, garlic sauce and hummus were impeccable, pita bread nice and soft, meats perfectly cooked. No complaints whatsoever. Placed online order so can't comment about ambiance. Will for sure keep ordering from Ali Baba for more office parties to come.

Such a good deal! We got the mixed grill, and for about $50 you get a pretty substantial meal that could likely feed 4-5 people for dinner. If getting takeout, as we did, they package it well and it's just about ready to put on the table and dig in! As for the food - I really have no complaints. The meats were juicy, the rice was suuuuper flavorful.. and they provided plenty of garlic spread which I love! If you are looking for Mediterranean food in the area look no further :)

Falafel & Spicy Potato

After reading all the 5 star reviews on this place, I was super excited to visit this place for the first time. Food was decent, unfortunately the service was a big let down. I arrived for lunch shortly after 1:00 pm and it didn't seem like anyone was working there. My kids and I were standing by the door which seemed like for 5 min. I saw a man walk to the back and he although he saw me and my family, he didn't even acknowledge me until I went to him and asked him if the restaurant was open. I saw there was a family eating inside, so this place doesn't follow covid protocols. The man told me we could sit anywhere, so I said we would eat on the patio. He handed me menus, walked away, and left me with the pleasure to move the tables together myself. After about 15 min, he came back to take our orders and I ordered a bunch of things to try: *Spicy Potato (good, not too spicy...spiciness level is 3/5) *Falafel (really tasty, but found a chunk of aluminum foil/metal in my mouth from eating this. Manager comped this dish and gave us dessert) *Spinach Fatayer (tasty) *Cheese Burke (kids loved this) *Mixed Grill (includes Shish Kabob (meh), Kafta Kabob (good), chicken kabob (tender and tasty)) *Chicken Shawarma Gyro (we all sampled this and we all liked it) I had to ask for the pita and garlic sauce as the server didn't automatically bring it out. I did appreciate that they gave us individually wrapped disposable utensils and bottled water (after waiting about 10-15 min). The food didn't take too long once we placed our order. I also ordered kafta kabob and chicken shawarma plates to go so my husband could try it too for dinner. It took forever for us to get our check. Then I showed him my 20% coupon for Yelp check-in, but then that took forever because the server didn't know how to calculate the discount, so I had to show him how to subtract 20% off the bill. This lunch took us about 2 hours... most of those 2 hours was waiting around for the server. We left around 3:00. Thank goodness I didn't have anything else to do today! Not sure why everything took so long as there were only us and 1 other family there, and 2 guys with hookahs. Food is good, glad I tried it, but unless I feel like moving my own tables and have the time to wait forever for everything, I don't think I'll be back.

Chicken Shawarma

Rarely do I enjoy a meal at a restaurant so much that I end up ordering it again the next day. This is one of those restaurants! I ordered takeout using Yelp's GrubHub interface - we got 2 Chicken Shawarma Plates. The order was ready when I arrived and the pick up was easy. When I arrived, the restaurant had several orders that nobody picked up, so I was offered an extra Kafta Kabob plate! What a treat. The food was sooo good. Chicken Shawarma was wonderfully seasoned, rice was so good, and I especially liked the grilled peppers - everything went well with the toum sauce, of course. The hummus was some of the best hummus I've ever had. The Kafta was also very flavorful and it was so nice to get an extra meal. I was really impressed by the overall quality and service. The next night we ordered the lamb shank. It smelled so good, we started eating it immediately and forgot to take a photo of it. After the meal, I received a very kind phone call from the restaurant thanking us for coming back a second time in 2 days. He remembered me! But genuinely, a GREAT Lebanese place, and right in Pomona. Highly recommend! And If you can, call them to place the order so they don't get charged a huge fee with the online ordering services.

First of all, this place has great customer service, as other reviews have said. They are very polite and helpful on the phone. They were willing to take my restaurant.com certificate, even though it is usually for dine-in only (but these are covid times we're living in) PLUS apply a Happy Hour deal. Everything was delicious! We had the lamb shawarma and the chicken shawarma plates, which came with pita bread, hummus, rice, and a small salad. Very filling! We had to save our baba ganouj for the next day. It was our first time trying that, and we really enjoyed the unique smoky flavor of the dish.

Lamb Kebob

LOCATION : There's a huge parking lot for the plaza. This place is one of the fewer places open late. FOOD : We got the Lamb Kebob and Chicken Shawarma plates. Honestly it was all super delicious. I've had stale, hard to chew meat at other places but this was the opposite - the kebob is huge and chicken tasted fresh and aromatic. The quality is great so it's a fair $$ place. Surprisingly the weakest link was the bread and unsurprisingly the baklava was delicious. AMBIANCE : This place is spacious and definitely a chill vibe. We ordered take out but I'd imagine it'd be a great place to relax and hang out there as other people were doing. SERVICE : As others have mentioned the service stands out and makes this place unique. The workers are friendly and straight up if you have an issue they're happy to handle it. It's a great restaurant by itself but with the customer service it goes over the top as it's always an enjoyable experience coming.

Service was fast and food tasted freshly made. Rice was so yummy and serving was really large. I initially had a hard time finding this spot and getting a hold of them but learned they had to switch locations from their original restaurant location. This was a recent change and I think their website/google is taking some time to update.

Just didn't like the taste and the rice was awful. I guess thats what happens when you get Arabic vs Persian food.

Not a restaurant... it's a gas station with convenience store. Some guy in the back will cook food to go or you can eat it in your car.

Quick turnaround time and I drove right into, it was delicious! The lavish bread was light, the meat was seasoned and tender. I got the beef shish kebab plate with roasted beet salad was also fantastic. The meat was cooked to perfection on a grill outside. Turkish coffee sure was strong and served in a tiny cup which was cute. Got a baklava for dessert which was very sweet but yum. They also have a large display case of candy that were all very unique and tasty. I got a rose one that is so good. I bought a box of assorted flavors home to enjoy. The owner of the restaurant cut small pieces of the candy for us to try so we can decide which one we wanted. The other owner also came by to check on us and ask if the food was good. The restaurant is quite spacious with outdoor covered patio seating as well as indoor. I was able to bring my dog and dine there. They were so nice and even offered a bowl of water for my pup. Overall wonderful place for some solid Turkish food.

Took my grandmother to Zaky Mediterranean Grill after she mentioned wanting to try something new…read more Her usual go-to is Norm's, which is actually right across the street. But she had seen this Mediterranean spot nearby and was curious about it, so I told her we should give it a try. The restaurant is tucked into the corner of the lot, attached to the same building as a Starbucks. The Starbucks drive-thru can block a few of the front parking spots, but we got lucky and found one open. We walked in and were greeted right away--no one else was inside, which gave us time to explore the menu. Miriam, the young woman at the counter, was polite and patient while I explained the different dishes to my grandmother. She decided on a plate with lamb and steak kabobs, hummus, tabbouleh, cucumber yogurt, rice, and garlic sauce. I ordered the Zaky Bowl with beef & lamb shawarma, rice, and garlic sauce. We sat at a booth and waited while they cooked everything fresh, which was a nice surprise. The restroom was clean and the soda machine was self-serve for easy refills. When the food came out, it looked great and tasted even better. My grandmother enjoyed her meal and mentioned she'd come back here in the future as a healthier option. Fresh food, kind service, and a chill spot tucked right across from Norm's. Worth the visit.

Pretty affordable lunch buffet. For $25-ish per person, we paid a bit extra for drinks…read more Very colorful and decorated inside. Staff was friendly and cleared our plates decently quickly. Same with refreshing the food that gets cleared out of the buffet. We were seated at a large circular booth table which was pretty nice. Foods at the buffet are the same foods that they serve in their meals and dishes to order. There were a lot of customers there and a large birthday party, but there were still lots of tables open and free. Some of the foods that we got to try were: the beef and chicken koobideh (charbroiled seasoned ground beef), beef soltani (strip of filet mignon skewer), shis kabob, lamb kabob, hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel, tzatiki (yogurt and cucumber and mint), dolmeh (grape leaves wrapped around rice and onions), smabousek (their fried savory donuts with beef and cheese), and tabouleh salad (finely chopped parsley, bulgur wheat, tomatoes, and scallions mixed with mint, lemon, and olive oil). I think the issue is that yes the empty trays got replaced, but I feel like some of the food was left out a bit too long or was overcooked since a lot of the meat was pretty dry and a bit tough, making it not as delicious. Same with the dry rice as well. Some of the other foods were seasoned to be way too salty and the fact that the rice was dry, made it harder to enjoy to balance out too. The drinks that we got were either too sour or way too sweet. I think the balance in food quality and texture wasn't the best. Hopefully it was just an off day.
