Alex came to our house and gave us an estimate to repair our front steps and told us they would last a very long time. A few days later, his workers showed up, unannounced, asking what they needed to do. I told them I have no idea, and my husband is not home, and to coordinate a time with him. A few days later (on a Sunday), they showed up unannounced again! My husband was out again! They asked me to pick a paint color and I asked if that is included in the price we were quoted and they said they didn't know. As I was trying to figure that out, it came out that they don't think repairing the stairs is a good idea and they can't even guarantee they won't break again for even 3 days. I asked if it would be a lot more expensive to redo the whole thing and they said it would be exponentially more expensive. I told them we'll talk to Alex and get back to them. 30 minutes later, Alex calls my husband screaming at him! He told him that we shouldn't ask his contractors about prices and that he doesn't work that way and that we should find someone else to work with and hung up the phone on my husband! He was literally screaming at my husband on the phone. And then hung up on him. There are so many issues with our experience starting with the fact that the workers kept showing up without prior notice and asking a lot of questions as if they didn't know what they were supposed to be doing. And then of course the fact that he was trying to scam us into doing something that he knew might not even last the week. And then finally, calling my husband and screaming at him and hanging up on him because his workers were asking us a lot of questions?! It's just been an atrocious experience. I recommend avoiding him at all costs. UPDATE: Alex is now threatening my husband over text messages because of our review. We are just stating facts. He said we are inappropriate to contact him on a Sunday when it was his contractors who showed up at our doorstep, unannounced, on a Sunday, and we were just calling to clear things up with him because they had no idea what they were supposed to do and were asking me a lot of questions. He also accused us of trying to strike a deal with his subcontractors, something that didn't cross our minds for one second. We were just trying to figure out if the paint his contractors were making me choose was included in the estimate he provided us.

Lofft was not the cheapest estimate I received but based on my meeting with Alex and previous reviews, I decided to hire them for my work. Very happy with my decision. The project began and ended exactly on schedule. Eric and Freddie were easy to work with, dependable, did a fantastic job and kept the worksite clean during the project. We needed to tear out and replace all prior tiles due to leak, and wet uninsulated walls around tub. Mr. Buendia and his team planned out the job, gave us a reasonable estimate, told us from when to when the job was going to be done, emailed us job proposal, we agreed and signed contract, and the the job started. They covered floors and stairs to prevent any damage, while we made sure they had access to an empty bathroom. In the middle of job we discovered that we needed to reinstall 'all walls, which we did not know when we started. Mr. Buendia and I went to the Tile store on Eisenhower Ave., and we chose together a tile that would fit and look great, and align with remaining ceramic floor. The team worked in coordinated way, and the end result is truly terrific! We are very satisfied and very much recommend Mr. Buendia's team to others. You would ask a simple question and get looked blankly. The work area safety was a disaster. Pictures will be included. They showed up at 7:15-7:25 AM. Upon arrival they needed to get inside for what I haven't a clue. Fairfax county has a noise ordinance stating work can't start until 8AM. If your so unlucky you will deal with Carl. Carl is the most cocky character. He doesn't know code. He claims he does. He claims he inspected the area to bring it up to code but missed a massive code violation. Fairfax County missed it as well but I already knew they were useless. So if you want to hire a company and roll the dice that you pass final inspection this is your company. If you want your property taken and then a cocky response that he's in 200 homes a year this is your company. They took a tarp that wasn't theirs and probably a watch. The tarp was returned but according to Carl they don't take anything. I can't speak for the value. The job was done on time but with annoyances. The kicker is he allegedly wanted to charge trip fees.
