She has SAVED my hair! Not just with the cut and color (we do glazes), but with hair tips too - the shower water filter has been the biggest game changer for me. A year ago or so the owner sent an email and embedded in the email was a disclosure clients would be paying for product (hair dye, etc). Eyeful is also an eco salon, wonderful, but clients pay a fee for that as well. A small color service cost me nearly $60 in product and nearly a $10 "eco" fee. They are constantly raising prices and promoting stylists to charge more. In 18 months it's been over a 50% increase for the same services between periodic service increases, stylist promotions creating another service increase and the product/eco fee which is quite substantial. I understand life is hard right now, but I don't know anyone whose salary has increased significantly, and with the state of the world most of us are fearful we won't have a job in the not so distant future. I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere. Luckily there are several salons in the area that will provide the same service for half the price and do not place the cost of product and sustainability on the clients. As a Lowell resident I want to support local, but when local is so out of touch with pricing compared to every other salon in a 5mi radius, I have no choice. I know eyeful provides a range of stylists to fit your "budget" but there are skilled stylists in area salons still coming in well below eyefuls price point that I don't have to sacrifice experience for a lower price. This was truly a sad review to write.

I came in asking for a basic brown balayage with lighter pieces and made it very clear that I do not like red tones in my hair. I even showed a reference photo. I ended up with noticeable HOT PINK highlights, which was completely unexpected and not what I asked for at all. There was no conversation or confirmation that any kind of pink tone would be added to my hair. I gave the salon a chance to fix it and came back, spending over 8 hours across 2 days trying to correct it. Unfortunately, the end result still has red undertones and now looks muddy, not like a balayage. What made the situation worse was the way it was handled. The owner was dismissive and blamed the result on a very slight color filter on my phone, saying I "should have known" I was getting pink. Even if a photo looked slightly warm, that does not justify adding hot pink tones without clearly communicating that to a client first. The owner honestly seemed annoyed that I was there and barely finished drying my hair. When I expressed that I was still unhappy after spending $300 on something that wasn't what I asked for, I was told I would have had to pay that amount regardless, and the conversation was essentially shut down. I also tried calling afterward to resolve things and never received a response. I understand that miscommunications can happen, which is why I gave them the opportunity to fix it. But the lack of accountability, poor communication, and unprofessional attitude made this a really frustrating experience. I literally cried for hours straight after coming home with pink hair, and then to be told it was my fault and to not be offered a discount/ partial refund is CRAZY. I found her instagram and every work looked amazing. I told her I wasn't sure about going light so quickly and she explained the process and recommended a medium caramel beige balayage. I've bleached my hair 10 years back and I didn't really like it but I went ahead and did it because she seems like she knew what she was doing. When she finished my hair, the front which looked amazing, but before leaving I noticed a very silverish blue tint around my back of my head. I immediately told by Phany and I was told that its the toner and will be normal after a few washes. After a few weeks, it seems like it was still silverish blue so I did myself a favor and went to buy purple shampoo. After a few months, it did wash off by my hair was brassy and brittle. My hair was extremely unhealthy and broke like hay. I tried leave in conditioner, hair mask, and oil but nothing worked. I finally went to my old hair stylist and she told whoever did it, left the bleach on too long and the only way to fix this is to cut off the bleached hair. Good luck if you go here because it seems like the reviews on yelp has been a split.
