Maastricht does not have as much exposure to Yelp, so I actually had to look for a recommendation on another site. That is exactly why I am reviewing this restaurant. Yelpers need to know this place! I enjoyed a Smithwick's on tap. The beer was extremely cold, and the pint was a perfect pour! However, the biggest draw for me was the fish and chips. They are absolutely delicious! The fish is a rather large piece, done right in beer batter. It is also extremely flaky and I consider this a good thing! The pub is also known to be a good place to watch European football. The TVs are hooked up to sound and broadcast in HD. Whether you're looking for a good pint, good food or just to enjoy a football game, this is your place. Ate a surprisingly hearty BLT sandwich with American style, seasoned curly fries. The bacon was thick, the lettuce was crisp, and the mayo came on the side, without me asking (which was a plus). I wasn't expecting the seasoned french fries, as most everything in The Netherlands comes with pommes, or chips in this case. But, the seasoned fries was a great added touch that turned a good sandwich into a great sandwich. Interior of restaurant is spacious and can accommodate the rugby crowd at the bar, while comfortably seating patrons for meals in the rear of the restaurant. Two wedges of each along with a French roll, 4 slices of fruit and nut bread, apple syrup and a salad of grapes, walnuts and rocket all for $13.50. We accompanied this with her local herbed liqueur coffee and my Le Trapp. We had anticipated this to be a simple bar snack but in fact turned into our lunch of the day. We in particular loved the paring of the apple syrup over the bleu cheese and the Brie on the fruit/nut bread. All was yummy and beautifully presented. I think the sauce they put on the ribs that burned in the smoker. The fries were good. Slaw was more mayo based rather than vinegar but didn't expect much with that. They also had Burrata as an appetizer which was interesting considering the concept but the preparation was delicious. If you are craving bbq check it out. Definitely order the wings they are the star of the show.
