Their governor burger is amazing. The waiter recommended medium cooked beef patty and it was very juicy. Other than the beef patty, there's also bacon, cheese, caramelized onions, vegetables, ketchup and mayo in the burger. Everything was so delicious ! It also came with fries with mayonnaise , which was really good as well. Big portion: can definitely fill up two people ( ladies who don't have a crazy big appetite). I didn't get any drinks this time but I tried their beer before. They have a good selection of craft beer and a nice ambience. Both local Dutch and international students love coming here. Good service.

I had the good fortune of being the one and only patron for the first hour and I sat and talked to the owner, Pieter. This place just has that authentic Irish feel to it. I actually walked a half a mile past another Irish pub that was closer to my hotel to get to this one. Maastricht does not have as much exposure to Yelp, so I actually had to look for a recommendation on another site. That is exactly why I am reviewing this restaurant. Yelpers need to know this place! I enjoyed a Smithwick's on tap. The beer was extremely cold, and the pint was a perfect pour! However, the biggest draw for me was the fish and chips. They are absolutely delicious! The fish is a rather large piece, done right in beer batter. It is also extremely flaky and I consider this a good thing! The pub is also known to be a good place to watch European football. The TVs are hooked up to sound and broadcast in HD. Whether you're looking for a good pint, good food or just to enjoy a football game, this is your place. And let Pieter know that Craig from Yelp sent you!

We've been in Irish Bars all over the world. This one is special. For one thing, it's clean. I mean *really* clean. It's really nicely furnished and decorated. The place has sort of an "upscale" ambiance, but retains the laid back feeling you expect from an Irish Pub. The food was terrific. We enjoyed large portions and the exceptional presentation. Prices were reasonable and the service was great. In short, this isn't your run of the mill Irish Pub. I absolutely recommend you check it out.

In an area full of different terraces and restaurants, this one stood out because the menu was easily visible written above the place. I got the Tartufo burger which was delicious!!! Wagyu beef, Truffel mayonaise, tomaat, Parmezaan & rucola!! Yum! Others in my group had the French onion soup, bitterballen (a must when visiting Holland) and some kind of sausage and cheese platter (I forgot the name). The bottom line was that my burger was amazing, and the service was a little slow, but other than that it was a great experience. Great terrace for people watching.

Not sure why we picked Old Dutch from the broad selection of café bars along the square. May have been the beer selection or the beautiful waitress who spoke perfect English, but in we went to escape the afternoon heat. Whatever the reason, we chose well. The four of us 50 somethings were invisible to Danielle, but she remained friendly and courteous. Luke gave us an education on the local beer and mapped out a good walking tour of the city. Our dinners tasted fantabulous--I had one of the best salmon filets of my life. I will definitely be back, for beer, food, and friendly service.

The cellar of common and somewhat rare Belgian beers was why I chose this place. I had beers with my meal and also bought a dozen bottles for takeaway. Perfect!

Belgian restaurant in Maastricht,…read more This place offers you Belgian grandmother's kitchen and 200 mostly Belgian beers to choose from. The best thing about it is that just like with wine, they pair the beers to the food they serve. They use Belgian quality products, Belgian blue cattle for their beef or belgian cheeses like Maredsous abbey cheese and of course belgian chocolate in their deserts. The point of the restaurant is that most of these products are sometimes unfortunately forgotten but Belgium has so much to give when it comes to fine food. The restaurant itself is rather picturesque and it has won lots of international design awards.. They use old china which adds something to the whole experience of the grandmother's dishes being served. The staff is very friendly and the owner works alongside the staff serving tables. The idea is that you'll have a 2 or 3 course menu for which a very acceptable price is charged. They have a small menu, so I'm pretty sure it's all freshly prepared a la minute. When in Maastricht make sure to put this on your list, and make reservations in advance. Thumbs up for this restaurant for showing us how amazing some of those forgotten Belgian dishes are. They also have takeaway, parking facilities near the door: ol-Vrouwen parking
