The ladies working there are extremely helpful and friendly. Service with a smile goes a long way and for me, that's a plus. I'm new to the area, and let's be honest--you don't just pull up to any random laundromat. So I did what most people do and checked Yelp to see what everyone was saying. The great reviews led me to The Laundry Place in Compton. I parked in the back lot. It's small, but I had no problem finding a space. Before unloading all my laundry, I went inside to check the place out. They have some construction going on, but it doesn't interfere with getting your laundry done. The facility was surprisingly clean and well maintained, and all of the machines looked like they were in excellent condition. I was especially impressed with the huge 80-pound commercial washer--it was only $9.75, which I thought was a great price. One thing I really appreciated was that I didn't have to deal with people hanging around outside. There wasn't central A/C, but they had a large industrial portable unit that kept the place comfortable enough that I barely noticed. There were plenty of chairs and tables, although I wish there were a few more folding tables. I made it work and folded my clothes on one of the available tables. The woman working there was friendly, helpful, and answered all of my questions. While I was folding, a gentleman came in, introduced himself as Eric, the owner, and asked how my experience had been. I told him it was actually the Yelp reviews that brought me in! I also really liked their card system. First-time customers receive a credit toward their wash, and you earn an extra $3 for every $25 you load onto your card. That's definitely a nice bonus. Best of all, my clothes came out super clean--no mystery stains! The dryers handled large loads really well. My only suggestion would be for the dryers to run a little longer than five minutes per cycle, but adding more time is easy. Just tap your card, and each additional 25¢ gives you four more minutes. Hopefully, I won't be without my washer and dryer for too long, but I would absolutely recommend The Laundry Place to anyone looking for a clean, well-maintained laundromat with friendly service. It's rare to see an owner actively inside the facility: sweeping, mopping, cleaning, engaging with customers, and helping wherever needed. All of the staff are just as nice and helpful. I don't wash very well on my own, and they were more than happy to guide me, telling me exactly how much detergent to use and where to put everything without ever making me feel rushed or uncomfortable. They're currently doing upgrades to the laundromat, which shows how much pride they take in the place. They also sell snacks, detergent, & other things needed to wash which is super convenient. I specifically come here to wash my white clothes because my washer at home messes them up, and my whites came out extremely clean. Even better, the entire wash took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this laundromat.

The posted rules state that customers should return when their laundry is done, yet I've seen clothes sitting in machines for over 30 minutes after the cycle ended. As a result, other customers can't use the machines and are forced to wait. It's unfair to those who follow the rules and respect other people's time. Staff should do a better job of enforcing the policies to keep things running smoothly.

This place single handedly saved my custom suit. Thankfully, Dalla's gave it a shot and they were amazing. They removed all of the makeup stains and missed spots that the other dry cleaners didn't take care of. There was also a problem area on the sleeve that looked like the previous dry cleaners over treated. Dalla's was able to get that squared away also. My shirt and three piece suit was looking brand new when I picked it up. They worked with my fast turnaround needs as well, having this done within about a day and a half.
