I've walked in (without notice and saw the teachers and teachers aids interacting with my misbehaving child(he was taking toys away from other children and screaming at them) in a way that made me 100% assured this was the best place for him. I didn't stop it bc like you I was curious how they would react. They were firm, but not harsh by any means, they were gentle and loving. I'll be honest, it is the tenderhearted nature of the teachers and aids that really have impressed me. The teachers and teachers aids in the 2 and 3 year old program (Ms, Buschra, Ms. Mehwish and aids like Ms.Comfort have been nothing short of amazing. I am honored to have had my son in their classroom.) Seriously, they are the most patient, gentle and genuinely loving teachers and teachers aids who have always treated their students with the utmost respect, patience and kindness. They are effective teachers and have even helped us with potty training. The administration is just as incredible. They know each parent that comes into the day care personally. They address them and say hi when they enter and leave. They know your child's name. They are some of the friendliest people in the DC/MD/Va area. I have friends who have their kids here under other teachers, and they tell me they don't mind driving from College Park to Burtonsvile, just to send their kids to this school. They too, could not be happier or feel more secure about keeping their children in Childway. This is the perfect place for your child. So before you get scared off by the one star review, check out the place and meet the teachers. Watch them interact with the kids. I think you will see the same dedicated and caring faculty and staff that I have seen.

When The Learning Tree called and said they had an opening we JUMPED at the chance to enroll in this amazing family owned business. We have nothing but GREAT things to say about The Learning Tree! The staff are very caring and every teacher in the building knows every child. My son has been a challenge due to ADHD and other emotional and behavioral issues but the directors and teachers have been nothing short of amazing, supportive and accommodating to his needs. My son will be going to kindergarten in the fall, because of The Learning Tree, I am confident that will do well. They take the time to TEACH the children not just "watch" them. Add to that the field trips, picnic days, holiday parties, and water play and you have an environment that children thrive in and enjoy going to!

The staff has been approachable and responsive. I asked if I could do a presentation for Black History month for my daughter's class, and it was encouraged and supported. The teachers are amazing and caring and well-trained. Ms. Madona Williams and Ms. Elizabeth Mikanga along with Ms. Kayla Williams are soo very special to me because they have taken the time to talk to me when I have questions about how to supplement my daughter's development and education. They are patient when she is acting a bit out of sorts (like a child) and she loves them. I have been very comfortable with her learning, development and safety at The Learning Tree.

Thanks to Ms. Chandra, our daughter adapted within 2 weeks of starting daycare. She also did not speak English before starting daycare but now she has no trouble communicating in English with Ms. Chandra and her friends. She has learned all the alphabets, can count in English and Spanish and knows so many rhymes. She can even spell her name, which is pretty amazing for her age. She brings artwork from the daycare almost every day and we have noticed her drawing and coloring skills have improved significantly. Now she is learning to write the alphabets and numbers. We are amazed by Ms. Chandra's passion, energy and ability to care for 8 kids all by herself. Ms. Chandra also provides 3 vegetarian meals each day, which our daughter likes to eat. We feel very lucky to have found Ms. Chandra and cannot thank her enough.

We met the very next day, and it quickly became clear that her program would be a great fit for Ethan. Ms. Shelly maintains an exceptionally clean environment, provides nutritious and delicious meals, encourages positive friendships among the children, and creates opportunities for them to learn through both structured activities and play. One of the many things that warmed my heart is how she celebrates every child's birthday with cupcakes and special recognition. She truly goes out of her way to make each child feel valued and loved. Communication is always excellent, and she keeps records organized and up to date. Most importantly, I have complete confidence that children in her care are safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. I highly recommend Ms. Shelly to any family looking for a nurturing and dependable childcare provider

My son has been attending Kindercare since he turned 18 months (he is now 3). I can truly say that…read morethis center is the best. They have a structured program for all ages. The children don't just run around all day not learning anything. Each class has a curriculum that caters to the development milestones of that age. They provide meals, which I like, and also do potty training. Another bonus is every quarter, they have parent-teacher conferences, which allows you to learn what your child is doing and where he/she can improve. Now, every childcare center is not perfect and I know that searching for childcare for a child is hard (and sometimes frustrating)...but I think you will like Kindercare. It's worth the cost. My son has great social skills, a strong vocabulary, and is learning to read/write. I love Kindercare!

I couldn't even get past the initial interaction with 'customer service.' I was asked for my name,…read moreprovided it and was told 'that's not the name I have.' Whoa, scary. Come to find out, The Young School keeps your info on file indefinitely even if you never tour or enroll your child. I inquired years ago when my middle child who is now 9 was one. They had no openings then. This means that they have had my info lying dormant for 8 years which I signed nothing agreeing to. I've gotten married, changed my name and had another baby since. None of this would have been an issue if the rep didn't respond in a suspicious tone when I provided my name. Instead of saying, "hey, I see you may have inquired about our center in the past, have you had a name change or gotten married?' It was more of a tone that conveyed suspicion. Just a weird interaction altogether. When I brought it to the attention of the rep she began to raise her voice and ask for even MORE personally identifying information. Lady I just want to know if you have any openings to start! May be a nice center maybe not, I would never know thanks to this initial interaction.

They canceled a virtual tour of their facility twice. Also, Jessica Trail - the head of the school - takes too long to respond to emails. I figure they're not going to miss our business since they seem to have a long waitlist (this is just conjecture since I can't really get any solid information). Be that as it may, I still think it's reasonable as a prospective patron to expect follow-through and timely responsiveness (meaning no more than two business days). In the interest of fairness, I must add that Jamie Sultz (admissions?) has been quite lovely to speak with.

Truly scary. **** Our longtime daycare closed, and we enrolled our children here. A decision I regret. I would avoid this location. The administrative team is disorganized, communication is poor, and advocating for your child results in being labeled "aggressive," even as staff raise their voices. My 5‑year‑old's teacher waited nearly two weeks to introduce herself, then immediately criticized his behavior in front of him and other children, with no explanation of how they addressed it. Billing was a mess: constant errors, incorrect charges, overpayments, and no accountability. The director threatened to unenroll all three of my kids when I paused payment due to an incorrect amount, which she later confirmed was their mistake. They also fired my middle child's teacher without notifying parents. I only found out because a stranger was holding my son's hand at pickup. No announcement was ever sent. Overall, the lack of professionalism and communication made this an unsafe and unreliable environment.
