Since switching my daughter to Kidstop Child Development Center in 2023, I couldn't be happier with the change. From the moment we walked in, the environment alone gave me peace of mind, it's warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for children to thrive. My daughter is now 4 years old, and I've watched her mind expand in incredible ways. The growth I've seen in her has been amazing, she's become more independent, intellectually curious, and confident every single day. The staff at Kidstop are incredibly attentive. The way they care for the children is unlike anything I've experienced before. I also love knowing that while I'm at work, my daughter is eating healthy, balanced meals and staying active. The center does a wonderful job planning family events, which really makes it feel like a community. Brandy, the director, is exceptional! She truly embodies the phrase "it takes a village." She supports both the children and the parents, and her presence makes such a positive difference.Parent-teacher meetings are another highlight. I always look forward to hearing how my daughter is doing, what she's excelling at, and where she can improve. The feedback is so thoughtful and helpful.The positive changes I've seen in my daughter since enrolling at Kidstop have been nothing short of inspiring. I learn new things from her all the time, and I'm so proud of how she's growing. I'll genuinely be sad when the day comes that she outgrows the center because as a parent, there's no better feeling than having total peace of mind when you drop your child off each day. First off, when I called Kids Stop the lady named Angel's personality sold me to come in for a tour. She was informative and knew her stuff. Did not feel like she was reading something off of a sheet of paper. My tour today (May 25th, 2017 1:30pm) with Sylvia was perfect! She was 1.Friendly and kind 2. Knew all the answers to all my questions 3.Empathic since she has 5 kids of her own (She does not look like she has 5 kids) But the Child center was great for all these reasons. 1.Welcoming and colorful. (This was my 5th daycare tour in Rockville/Gaithersburg 2.Kids were all happy when I came in for a tour. 3.They have a huge play ground area 4.They offer classes like cooking for an additional small fee. 5.They give 10% off discounts to a list of companies. 6.Teacher student ratio is 1 to 10 kids. AMAZING! 7.It didn't smell like a dirty diaper when I walked in. 8.Security window and door. Love it! The pricing is a little on the higher end of my budget honestly but you get what you pay for. At least you know your child will be in good hands. I am have this on my top two and will make a choice soon. I'm waiting on a job offer letter that will determine which daycare my 3 year old will go to. And if I get it? I'm bringing my kid in here. read more

First, I would like to say I am a new parent to a now 3month old. My son started at 2months. Therefore, many know the anxiety that can take place. However, when I had my first tour with the director Stephanie I felt so calm. She was very informative on not only the daycare but also the growth & development of the kids there. Stephanie greets every child by name! I was completely amazed, literally every child. & is so loving and welcoming. I decided to go with this childcare because it was CLEAN, the teachers are very nice and honestly felt as if they really cared for my sweet boy. They do so much with him in regards to his growth & development. He is literally grabbing at things now & i owe it all to them. They also use the app, super user friendly. They do diaper changes every 2hrs, they note when they feed, sleep, and the different activities they do throughout the day. & send multiple pictures! They respond quickly to any questions or concerns i am having. I am so excited for my child to learn and grow with them. Kidstop was my first choice, and my only choice! I cant tell/show how much i appreciate them. read more

Update:I received a termination message IMMEDIATELY after posting my review. Which I was perfectly fine with because there was no way my daughter would ever be under their care again. The most baffling part of this update is when I called the number above to express my concerns, a woman named Angela was rude and dismissive to me. I called in very politely and informed her that I was asked to call to speak of my experience at kidstop Angela asked for the account info and I gave her everything she asked for. She informed me since my boyfriend was the account holder that she could not talk to me about my daughters account but let me know that she could take my complaint. I asked was it okay if I logged into the kinder care portal to make myself the account holder (I am the one that makes the payments and had the child care scholarships under my name.) Angela told me that was not possible, after we hung up I made myself the account holder and called back and spoke with Angela she told me that she still couldn't talk about my account. I asked if we aren't able to change the account holder then why does the system allow us to? She stated just in case I got married I could change my last name. Sounded like complete bologna! I would highly NOT recommend dealing with any kindercare locations. From my experiences (not only with my daughter, but with my 8 year old as well) they are corporate owned and they do not care about the well being of the kids or the parents that make their paychecks! At first, I was very excited about this facility, since it had good reviews and they seemed to be forthcoming with information about availability and pricing. However, when I reached out for a virtual tour, Megan canceled the day of. She then took over a week to respond to me about rescheduling (for the following day). She never showed up for the tour (even though I waited 30 minutes) and still has not responded to my email (one month later). I definitely don't trust them to take care of my infant if they cannot do something as simple as communicate with parents or come to a tour that they scheduled. read more

First time parents over here and after having a bad experience at another daycare that ended up rushing our 12 month old to the hospital we were hesitant to send him to another daycare. Stephanie reassured us that everything would be okay and it has and more. All the staff knows all the kids by name and where they belong. The app is amazing and we love getting the updates and pictures all day long. Very clean and they are good with communication. If your child has allergies, I highly recommend this place, they have been the best! read more

This is a review I didn't want to write. I personally like the staff there as individuals and genuinely wish them well. My son was there two years, and both he and I have a deep affection for the people there. However, as a parent, and specifically a food allergy parent, I know that I would want to know about an experience like mine. My son has a severe (life-threatening) food allergy. The staff at KidStop fed him food containing his allergen, not once, not twice, but three times. He needed his epiPen, and an ambulance to hospital on two of those occasions. It doesn't matter how great the teachers are, or how nice the facility is, or how good the curriculum is (and KidStop is great in all of these aspects), if they can't keep my child safe, nothing else matters. While each instance was a case of human error, different staff were involved each time. Now that my son is at a new daycare, the contrast is stark. It seems like KidStop lacks the base of a process-oriented mindset, and thus relies on individual vigilance, and in the chaos of a room full of toddlers, it can be all too easy to forget that a particular food contains a problematic ingredient, or that a particular child is allergic. Unfortunately for us, the consequences can be deadly, and we felt that we had no choice but to leave. If we cannot be assured our child will return to us in the same condition we dropped him off in, nothing else matters. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about KidStop. My son is 21 months old and is thriving and learning so much since he began attending KidStop in July of this year. Every single member of the staff has been nothing but welcoming, friendly, and kind to my son and me. They have created such a warm, loving, and safe environment for the children and staff, which is especially challenging due to the pandemic. My son's teachers are wonderful, creative, and so supportive of their learning and play experiences. I notice that my son is more confident, independent,8 and willing to try new things. He is coming home with new experiences on the daily - whether it be art projects, new games, books, songs, or learning themes - he is constantly growing and thriving in his care. I also absolutely love the KinderCare app. It allows me to see how his day is going, what activities he is enjoying, stats about his day (naps/meals/diaper change, etc.), and the best part - the photos! I truly cannot say enough positive things about my experience. I am so glad that we were able to secure a spot at KidStop! :) read more

I'm not good at writing reviews, but I wanted to help parents in the area who are looking for a good daycare for their child(ren). After a lot of research and internet digging, I've found that finding good reviews is just as hard as finding a good daycare. Anyways, I hope this will help the next parent. The Staff - I've found the staff to be very helpful, extremely nice, and caring. Devina (I think that's how you spell her name) and the program director (I believe it's Melissa) are extremely nice and you can tell they're on top of it. One of my DS's teacher is extremely friendly and caring. It's DS's first time at daycare, and she's been giving him one-on-one attention to help him through the transition. That's something any parent can appreciate. DH and I would call to check in on DS everyday he's there, and they never seem annoyed, which is good because I'm not going to stop calling. I've been able to sit and chat with the teachers, and although it doesn't seem like they're Grade-A, top notch, private nanny material for the president, they are very caring and attentive to the children. The Facility - KidStop is owned by KinderCare, so most of the curriculum and procedures are the same. One factor that really stood out for me though is that unlike the KinderCare up the street on Shady Grove, which has SEVEN (7) infant classrooms, KidStop only has one. They split it between mobile and stationary infants. (Those are my terminology, btw.) It just has the feel of a more intimate setting. That's something that means a lot to me. The Price - Honestly, childcare rates are extremely outlandish in this area. But, it's cheaper than most other places around here. Even though it's owned by KinderCare. Negatives so far - (1) DS's first week at KidStop, he caught a virus. I blame the facility as much as I blame myself. There's nothing you can really do about something like that. Kids will get sick because all they ever want to do is stick everything in their mouth. (2) One staff member called DS by the wrong name because she read the name that was on the crib he was in (he's enrolled PT so has to share a crib with another PT infant). Once again, DS has only been going there for a month so far, but we're very pleased with how he's progressing. Before enrolling him here, we had him with a babysitter FT. He would come home sleepy, tired, and extremely inconsolable. There's been a marked improvement in all of this since he's been at KidStop. Although he's still getting used to being in daycare, he comes home happy and playful. I would definitely recommend for any parent to tour this facility. Every child is different and every parent's wants/needs for a childcare facility is different, but this has been my experience so far. Good luck in your search! read more

This place is awesome. I, like most moms, experienced the painstaking guilt of putting my 12-week-old in day care but honestly, it's the best thing ever. His very first teacher to ever hold him in his very first classroom at 12 weeks old, Ms. Nilda, still lights up when she sees her "Calvito". My Calvin is now 2 years old and in his 4th classroom. That doesn't stop the inherent joy she gets from seeing one of her little babies grow up. His second teacher, Ms. Luz still goes on and on about how beautiful he is and that I need to make more. The school tutor, Ms. Angela, well...Calvin has never even had her as a formal teacher yet she's his second mother and he talks about her for days on end. Point being, the people here really care. Everyone knows everyone's name. Calvin comes home talking about stuff I didn't even know he had the capacity to understand. He's happy AND he's learning?! I'm not really sure what else you can ask for. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, it's breaking the bank. I don't have the fancy government job and the student-loan-less college degree most of this area is used to but if you break down the cost per hour, it's a freaking steal. And based on my experience to-date, I wouldn't opt out for a cheaper alternative at this point anyway. My little dude is socializing and learning in a way that my husband or I could never manage on our own. No one wants to think of "other people" raising their kid but here, you feel good about it. read more

My son has been going here since he was 5 months old, and he's now a year and a half. Staff are great, and though a couple great teachers have left since he's been there, they have found good replacements relatively quickly. The director (Melissa) recently left but Davina is her replacement and seems to be on her game; Davina was #2 to Melissa for at least the last year or so. I anticipate it'll continue to run well. We like the center overall, so have taken some small measures when needed to keep us feeling like our son has the best days possible. For instance, they switched my son to the "mobile" infants' room when he was a little younger than a year old. So we made sure to bring him in a little later in the morning, after his morning nap. They only give 1 nap per day in the mobile room; it's at 1230/1 and my son's pediatrician (and my son himself) told me he needed 2 naps for several months after his first birthday. Other kids in the mobile room got to the daycare earlier, though, and seemed to be okay, though exhausted by late morning. The meals are healthy, but the snacks are not always top notch (I've seen goldfish and cheese-its on some days, I'm not a fan of either). I often bring in extra fruit or yogurt so my son gets enough quality food during the day. They told me recently that they were trying to fix the problem by pushing breakfast later and lunch earlier but I haven't seen that happen yet. Another good thing about the center is the activities they offer. I like the way they have different projects for the kids to do each day at different times and they let them play outdoors whenever the weather permits. The center has a decent outdoor space where they rotate the classrooms so there is usually at least one group out there all the time. read more

This daycare didn't meet the needs and expectations I have as a parent for a learning, nurturing facility for my kids. So I had to remove them quite abruptly. When my 2 year old would have any tantrum I was always called to immediately pick him up, even after only dropping him off 5 minutes prior. It didn't seem to be any kind of plan to calm kids down unless one particular staff member was present. She was great! And most likely the reason we wanted to give the place a chance, but after my child was sent home (no written notice of incident) with 12+ mosquito bites on him. I was no longer comfortable sending my child here. I talked to multiple other parents who had the exact same experience here as I did and have removed their child from this facility as well. I didn't give 1 star because it wasn't all bad but not the place for us for sure. read more
