The teachers are incredible and loving. The kids are being taught to be kind and inclusive. There is rarely a dull moment for the kids at busy bees - at pickup my kid often asks me to please come back a little later! They have ballet, Zumba, karate, yoga, Spanish class, music class. Fridays are special pizza days, and they get to do show and tell. Right now, they're taking care of caterpillars, and we have to peak in the planter every morning to see if their flowers have started to grow yet. There's also a monthly Parent's Night Out where your kids will get dinner, snacks, playtime, and a movie while you get a date night. My son is also in the infants room. The teachers are so kind and loving to him. He has rarely ever cried at drop off and I get constant updates with pictures and videos in the app. They're always on the move with reading, playtime, drawing, outside time, snack time. Each kid is met where they're at and are still involved in the activities - from kids who can't sit yet to early walkers. I love walking down the stairs towards his room and I can hear him and his teacher having full blown 'conversations' before pickup. We are thrilled with Busy Bee's and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality daycare!

As he will be graduating this year, it very bittersweat for us. Whenever, he would talk about school he keeps telling me that he doesn't want to leave Busybees and will miss his teachers and friends. This daycare has given my son home outside of home and has given my family the best thing - the thought that you kid is in good hands while you are away. The way they treat children, the way they approach their education, health is top notch. They have sooo many great activities, they are so dilligent and caring. If you want to have the best for your child, you should definitely check out this daycare!

As a co-op, parents are expected to be very involved in the school, co-oping in the classroom, taking part in work days, and also holding a job. This kind of involvement isn't for everyone so be aware of what you are getting into. For parents who are able and eager to be this involved, this is the school for you. There are a lot of activities throughout the year, it's such a dynamic and fun environment for our little ones and a supportive, warm community for parents.

I was nervous about his first school experience, but I was comforted by being able to co-op in my son's school several times a month. As a stay at home mom and former MCPS teacher, I felt that this opportunity to have a hand in my child's learning is both invaluable time and memories for me. In his first year in the 3's class, he has learned so much, from learning how to communicate with others to solve a problem or play a game, to learning to write the alphabet and yoga poses that go with each letter of the week, and using school tools like scissors, crayons, markers, and being ok with getting his hands messy with paint or glue. I have also learned a lot too. I've borrow 'gak' recipes, new books to read with my children, songs to sing, and activities I can create at home (art projects, other way to use my sand table-with rice, beans, shredded paper, etc). I also love that our school participates in monthly local community services. We have donated stuffed animals to police offices, collected items for Comfort Cases, donated to Manna Food, collected fruit for a women's shelter on a weekly basis, and donated extra Halloween candy to soup kitchens to name just a few. This is a wonderful school community for learning and friendship!

Ms. Hana took COVID safety very seriously and took all the measures to make sure that the learning environment was also a safe place as well which was also a top priority for us. It was going to be his first time in a structured school setting so I really appreciated the smaller class size and student to teacher ratio because I felt like he was able to receive a more individualized curriculum and he was met at his academic level. When my son first started, he had very basic knowledge of his letters and sounds, but now we are almost to the end of our first year and he is reading simple sentences. He comes home excited to tell me what he has learned and about all his friends at school! I am so impressed with how much he has learned and grown thanks to Ms. Hana. Although we will be moving on next year to kindergarten, we are so happy that our son was able to get a good foundation for this upcoming school year!

My daughter has grown so much during her time here into very sweet, talkative, helpful. Ms. Hana plans thoughtful activities for the kids all the time and is a very responsive director. She takes the time to get to know every child very well. I love that this school is smaller which affords the kids more personalized care as well as bring a "family like" feeling between parents, teachers, and children. My most favorite part is, I really enjoy receiving a art works, worksheets, home report and occasional pictures of my child. We have been very happy at MMPS. It is a gem of a school within affluent North Potomac/Rockville with still very reasonable rates relative to other preschool.

The Environment: Every staff member from the front desk, teachers, and administration was so welcoming! As a result, our oldest child attended Whole Kids Academy from Infancy through Pre-K. Additionally, our youngest attended from infancy through Early Preschool. Both of my boys have always felt loved and adored! It seemed that every teacher knew our kids' names, even if my husband and I didn't know them. Any time occasional concerns arose, the administration handled them promptly! Every staff member is eager to support, listen, learn, and educate! The Curriculum: Wow! From the infant room to Pre-k, WKA truly fosters an environment where children develop a love for learning!! I have pictures of my 3-month-old painting with corn during Autumn, exploring textures by painting on bubble wrap, enjoying music class, engaging in circle time, and learning about the outdoor environment through daily walks...and that was just the beginning! Recent Pre-K lessons included meteorology, biographies, and space, just to name a few! Each day, the lesson plan is intentionally crafted to develop each learning domain! Both of my boys are such curious learners, and people are genuinely impressed by their knowledge base. Our oldest just started kindergarten, and he's extremely ahead in all subjects. We absolutely love WKA and were sad to leave due to a cross-country move. If you're looking for a nurturing environment for your kids to fall in love with learning, WKA is the place!

I recommend this school to everyone that is looking for a serious and true Montessori program. In…read moreMD any school that claims to be Montessori has to be approved by the state and has to have at least one Montessori-trained teacher. However, I have heard parents complain sending kids to Montessori is a waste of money because it's just a name to sell the school. So, not all state-approved Montessori programs have good quality of education. So being aware not all schools are the same, I toured 3 Montessori schools: Lone Oak, Manor and the Woods Academy. I found the Lone Oak Montessori on AMI website and Woods academy on AMS website. Manor was recommended by other parents and it seems to be a popular choice when it comes to Montessori preschools in Bethesda area. I took my 3-year-old son with me to all the tours and he loved the Woods the best because we were allowed to walk into the classroom and had very brief interactions with the students and teachers, to observe and also play some toys in the classroom while parents were talking to the director, Mrs. Gerber- who is very knowledgeable and experienced about Montessori programs and part of the reason we chose Montessori is because of her expertise and experience. After the tour, my son wanted to go back the next day because the classroom was just so fun and interesting for little kids. My son is happy every day and cannot wait to tell me what he learned in school. The teachers encourage independence, good manners, trying new things/food, healthy snacks, and creativity. They are caring and loving but also very firm when giving instructions. My son learns new things/facts each day and not just merely playing with expensive toys. For instance, he came home one day start singing "The family of the Sun," and talked about all the facts he learned about planets and I was amazed. And three weeks later, he started to learn the sounds of alphabets and try to read! The teacher told me she would advance any student if s/he is ready so there is no need to wait till 4 or 5 to learn how to read. The other pluses but not major factors are- 1) facility, it's a school so it has it's own gym, music/art classrooms, library, and playground. It's very spacious, clean and well-maintained. 2) it has PE, music and art classes once a week for 30 minutes. The school has a very strong art program. 3) faculty and staff are very friendly and they know student by names. I felt that students are given a lot of attention because of its small classroom size. The only downside is the tuition. It is about $2K more than other schools I checked/toured. We've been happy with our choice and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good preschool in Bethesda. I love Goddard's use of the Tadpoles app where I get daily pictures and updates about sleep and activities like the babies going for a ride outside in the buggy, playing with bubbles, reading circle etc. I couldn't imagine better teachers, there are two for the six infants and there's a shift change midday. They're all extremely capable and work a lot to help develop motor skills (i.e. encourage tummy time, sitting, crawling). They care so much about the babies and clearly love their job. It's such a relief to have a safe and loving place to drop our guy off at everyday! Great care is expensive, but it's worth it for my family. Claim a spot early, we signed up about six months in advance!
