We've had our little princess at KinderCare Olney since she was an infant. Of course, like everyone else, we shopped daycare providers prior to deciding which strangers we were going to leave our newborn with! We were NOT impressed with the competitors! We were most impressed with the staff members at KinderCare in Olney! Especially, Vicky, in the infant room. Loads of experience and we felt like we were dropping our kid off with a family member each and every day! Vicky seemed to love each baby as if they were her own! Janae has been an absolute rockstar as a center manager and the corporate executives should be proud to have a performer like her running the show! Janae and her assistant managers IMMEDIATELY address any "issues" no matter how minor! She is a fantastic communicator and follows through on promises! Unfortunately-fortunately, we bought a new house 30 minutes away and we will be transitioning our daughter to a new daycare, part-time, 2-3 days a week at the new daycare and 2-3 days a week at KinderCare in Olney for a few weeks. Our daughter is 2-1/2 years old and will desperately miss her friends, Janae and her team members. read more

We had our children at kindercare for almost seven years combined and over the last month nine months the overall quality of olney kindercare has greatly diminished to the point where we had to pull our children due to significant safety concerns.. i would strongly recommend you seek alternative child care facilities in Olney area. read more

My daughter has been at KinderCare since Fall of 2018 when she was about 18 months old and she is turning 3 this month. We toured several other daycares in the area but loved the convenience and staff at KinderCare. Every teacher who has cared for our daughter has been loving, kind and truly invested in her growth and learning. She has made wonderful friends and we are truly thankful that we have somewhere that takes such wonderful care of our daughter where we know she will be safe and cared for like she was their own. My son has been in the infant room at KinderCare Olney for almost 6 months. He started there when he was 3 months old when I went back to work. Leaving him there on his first day was incredibly difficult, and was only possible because of how wonderful the staff is! My husband and I are new to the area, and didn't know any parents to ask for recommendations. We picked KinderCare because of its location, hours of operation, and the confidence we had after a tour. We could not be happier. The infant teachers, (Ms. Vicki and Ms. Yolanda are the main teachers, but there are so many more who spend time in the room!) are wonderful. I am so confident that my son is being cuddled, comforted, rocked, fed, and generally loved that I am able to drop him off every day without second thoughts. He has a great time playing with all of the toys, doing art projects, working on milestones (sitting up, crawling, walking, etc), and thriving. It's a hard decision, and feels like a major risk, to drop off your new baby with strangers, but for so many (including our family), a necessity. KinderCare Olney is a wonderful place for children to learn and grow, and I wholeheartedly recommend it! read more

Please don't take your kids here. We brought our daughter here when she was 5-6 months old. The staff rotate constantly (there were so many times I didn't know who I was handing my daughter off to), the ratio of 1:3 was almost never in place (twice even only 1:6), and my daughter was always immediately placed on a pillow (and would be there on the pillow next to the wall) alone every time I dropped her off or picked her up. I rarely saw them interacting with her. The last straw was when they wrote down that she had 3 bottles, and when we opened our cooler we had 2 empty bottles that were ours and 1 empty bottle that belonged to another baby. We spoke with the director who said she wasn't fed one of those times (meaning she went 6 hours without a bottle which I know she would be screaming if so)- I guess they thought this was better than the alternative (I.e. she was fed someone else's breastmilk). The director herself said she found the situation concerning/odd but had a "what can I do" attitude. I tried to get in touch with the regional manager but he never called me back. They did not take this incident seriously. My doctor recommended that we test our daughter for HIV, because infectious diseases can pass through breastmilk (the CDC also recommends testing for HIV). My daughter also has allergies to milk and soy - she poops blood when I eat anything with milk and soy, so I watch what I eat carefully. We immediately stopped taking my daughter here and struggled finding care until she finally got a spot at Children in the Shoe (which is an amazing daycare!). I hope no other parent goes through this same situation. I had a sinking feeling early on... I should have taken the warning signs more seriously and stopped earlier. My first warning sign: I did find it weird that this was the only daycare in the area without a waiting list. read more

Please note that your child's experience could end up being different from mine and so this review is based strictly on my child and not others who are either currently attending or previously attended this childcare center. This open space childcare center is more like a sectioned off one room "puppy mill" for children. My daughter's woes began when she transitioned from one age group to the next and was confronted by an ill equipped staff person that ruled with an iron fist instead of establishing a compassionate learning environment predicated on early childhood education principles. Often, my child was punished for being a child with anxiety that stemmed from at least one alleged physical abuse perpetrated by this "non-educator". To add insult to injury was that a bachelor degreed social working pretending to be an administrator attempted to diagnose my child with a disorder that was unsubstantiated. FYI - this person has no license. Little did she know that my other half is a Master level social worker with the highest possible license's and has been for more that 20 years. In less than 20 seconds, this dime store psychotherapist was exposed and put in her place. When her boss agreed that the diagnosis was out of line and would never happen again, she failed to realize that the seed was planted and while the diagnosis was unethical and just flat out wrong, the primary offending staff person seemed to run with it and used it to excuse her bad, unethical, abusive, and inappropriate behavior. Of course, this childcare center is first a business. As a business, the decision was made that the liability (AKA my child) was too great and we were given notice that if things did not improve she would have to leave. Of course, we made the decision to move our child for her safety and sanity to a place where she would thrive. We only kept her there because we thought that the inexplicable behavior of the staff person and Administrator would result in them being removed. When it became apparent that the company had no intention to do that, we got out. There is so much more I could say but I think you get the point. I have three children enrolled in Olney KinderCare and I can honestly say that the teachers are all amazing. When I had to replace my nanny I was devastated and needed to find somewhere to send them that I could trust. This was exactly what I needed. All of the teachers work together and help each other out. The children are all loved. There is not a single teacher in this KinderCare that I wouldn't trust with my children. My four month old is VERY well taken care of and is happy as can be when I pick him up. The affection he shows to his teachers is proof enough that they are good to the children. My three year old has grown a great deal over her last year here as well. She's learned to recognize certain words already and I'm looking forward to her joining the "fours" classroom with Ms B because I know without a doubt that she will be ready for kindergarten like her older brother (who will be going this fall). These teachers are, very obviously, teachers that my children will remember their entire lives. read more
