I was honestly in disbelief when they repaired the hole in my tire free of charge. Lou was professional, courteous, and took the time to explain that they've been offering free flat repairs since the company started in the 1960s -- that kind of integrity is rare these days. When I picked up my tire, another associate kindly helped roll it out to my car and even offered an upholstery cover to keep my interior clean. Every interaction felt respectful and thoughtful. I hadn't been there in years, but after this experience, they've absolutely earned my future business. It's great to support a good American company that still stands behind strong values and customer service.

This is an update to my May 6, 2026 review of America's Tire:…read more First off, good old AI changed the name I entered to "Charles Schwab" from Les Schwab. Brokerages don't sell tires! So I actually got a voicemail response from a man at the America's Tire shop. He said to just call him back and they would take care of me. What nobody told him was we originally made our appointment to get our tires checked and rotated because we were driving back to our home the following morning which is in Colorado. There was absolutely nothing he could do for us after the fact. We won't forget sitting in their waiting area for our car to be serviced while walk-in customers who bought new tires go ahead of us even though we had made an appointment. I also won't forget that young man's grin as he told me I would have to pay $130 for new lug nuts (commission) or he wouldn't put my lug nuts he took off back on because of "Safety Concerns". Some things you just don't forget. So what happened with us? I ordered a set of new lug nuts from Amazon and paid extra to have them delivered in three hours. Once they were delivered, this 70 something old man and his slightly younger wife bought a battery powered impact gun and sockets and changed every single lug nut on our car one by one. For the three or four that the socket didn't fit on easily, we used a four way tire iron to remove those by hand. We got it done all by ourselves. Then instead of leaving at eight in the morning as planned, we left at six and towed our long utility trailer behind our car. When we stopped for gas in Nevada, my wife saw a Les Schwab dealer and I drove over and asked how long it would take to rotate our tires. He said no time at all. I showed him we had our twenty foot trailer hooked up and he said still no problem. That guy and a worker used floor jacks and air guns and rechecked the air in all tires plus our four trailer tires in under ten minutes! I tried to tip them twenty bucks but they wouldn't take it. That is the kind of customer service that is hard to find anymore. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another update: I got a phone call from a guy named Drew but not quite sure because I am hard of hearing, who said he called and I hadn't called him back. I told him I had been driving home to Colorado where we live. That caused him to laugh. When he stopped I told him there was nothing he could do for me as we were now home. I then listed my complaints with the service we received from our appointment. He justified the call his man made about "swollen" lug nuts. I then told him my wife and I changed all twenty and only found three, maybe four, that were enlarged. He then wanted to know if the tires on our car were purchased from them because he couldn't find them listed. I told him we have eight cars and trucks and also get tires from the sister stores, Discount Tire in Colorado Springs - different phone number. Maybe if I hadn't bought the tires from them then the whole complaint is moot. I did ask if their employees work on commission but he said no. My wife later looked the company up on line and the employees do not get direct commission. They do, however, get bonuses based on store sales so they do have incentive to make sure the store makes money. I just want to end this with a shout out to our Discount Tire store we go to in Colorado. They take good care of us. They never charge us for rotations or little things like a broken valve stem. We go in to an appointment and our car is taken right in. They offer bottled water and sodas while we wait. I pay for tire insurance on all tires. Anything wrong they find they are almost apologetic- they have never laughed at us or been disrespectful in any way. Same company, different name, different location, different quality of service

During the afternoon of Friday…read more7/18/2025 at around 4:30pm, I was driving home from work when I had an unfortunate incident happen to me. My right passenger side tire hit a severe crack in the road (at Sunrise Ave/Fair Oaks Blvd) where all the gravel/roadwork is being done. This was not a pothole but a very large split in the asphalt that caused the tire (on my 2024 Honda) to completely tear apart along the sidewall. I also witnessed another vehicle with a blown tire as well as a motorcycle that suffered the same fate. Since I am pretty familiar with the way Sacramento County handles road hazards, I reached out to 311 (or if you're not in the county, the number is 916-874-5311). You will speak to a live dispatch operator and they will take down your information. I was then able to submit a claim by sending it to Risk Management. If your claim is approved (in this case with other vehicles getting flat tires), you will be compensated and reimbursed (usually within a couple of weeks) for out-of-pocket expenses. Keep in mind that they do NOT do claims on potholes but other serious issues such as the one I had unfortunately experienced on Fair Oaks Blvd. Fortunately, the whole tire didn't deflate entirely as I was able to drive slowly and carefully to "Greenback Tires & Wheels". Located directly on Greenback Lane and adjacent to Sylvan Road in Citrus Heights, this place has been in business since 2012. They also have excellent hours of operation as they are open Monday-Saturday from 9:00am-5:30pm and Sunday from 9:00am-3:30pm. Since this was late on a Friday afternoon, they were able to accommodate me as there were no other customers. I arrived here around 4:50pm, explained to them what had happened, and parked near the bay where they were able to replace my tire. I then gave them my set of wheel locks (to remove the wheel/tire), and they were successfully able to replace my damaged tire with a brand new one. Total time from when I arrived until when I left took about 20 minutes. The new tire that I received was a Westlake brand which is more of an entry-level tire but still good enough to last 60,000 miles. Total price including tire disposal fee and taxes came out to around $130. I will say that the customer service here is impeccable as the young men that work here get things done quickly and efficiently. They have a decent selection of car/truck/SUV tires of all sizes as well as a respectable amount of wheels to upgrade your ride. The waiting area has enough seating for roughly 5 customers. I also wanted to add that they properly inflated my other 3 tires to the proper PSI. All in all, this place is as good as it gets in Citrus Heights; especially when it comes to tire prices. They also specialize in alignments, tire rotation, and other small repairs. With that said and done, I am giving "Greenback Tires & Wheels" a perfect five-star rating.

Not informed of pricing, and I thought it would be covered by road hazard warranty. Showed up 45 minutes later at 4pm and told "no guarantee to get it done today, and if so, it would be close to 6pm". Also, repair is $25. That is the regular cost and I misunderstood the warranty does not apply to trailer tires. I explained that I was advised not to make an appointment and that coming back another day is an additional one hour trip. I opted to take my unrepaired tire elsewhere. They leaned it against my truck hitch without saying a word. Very unfriendly team and a total waste of my time driving an hour out of my way for nothing. Won't be back. Yesterday, I came for a vehicle inspection, which normally takes very little time. I was refused and told to come back the next day. I wasted my time waiting, only to come back today and be treated in a very rude manner. I was told, "I don't know who told you that, but we won't accept you," with no explanation and no respect. Because of their lack of organization and their disgusting attitude, I lost two full days for something that should have taken only a few minutes. This behavior is unacceptable. I will never return, and I strongly advise others not to waste their time here. Horrible service, terrible communication, and absolutely no respect for people.
