They did such an amazing job getting everything out of place #1 and loaded into the truck. They clearly are good at Tetris! And had everything unloaded into place #2 in 2.5 hours. We had an issue where my fridge wouldn't fit into my kitchen and Garrett was willing to get tools to help take off the doors to make it work. This is actually a 3.5 star review…read more I utilized this completely twice. The first time they came to do a clean out of my rental property. They were courteous, prompt and professional. I had zero complaints. The second time I used them was for a move. The team that was a different set of guys who were equally as prompt, but not super detail oriented as their older counterparts. The first things that stood out was their difficulty to handle the truck they were driving and the strong scent of marijuana emanating from someone as they entered the door and a couple of other observations that appeared to be well received. In spite of it, they were hard working and agile. The problem didn't present itself until after the job was completed and we went to lock up the storage unit to find everything had been haphazardly placed making it impossible to access anything, especially in my physically handicapped state. I did call to give feedback and photos were sent. They were very apologetic and immediately promised they would come back and rectify the situation, saying they agreed it was definitely not acceptable by their own standard either. Since then, there have been several scheduling issues and a couple of times now I have been bumped or shuffled around due to "unforseen circumstances" even though I was on their schedule. When I made this 10/31/25 appt, I specifically asked for a day and time when I would not likely be shuffled because I have other things and people's time in my day that will be thrown off as well. I was apologized to and assured that I would finally be prioritized and taken care of, so I scheduled for the following week, which was yesterday 10/31 at 10am. Once again I didn't get a confirmation call or text, until I called, only to be told on top of the full team not being on time for work, another customer had unexpectedly bumped my time and the inconvenience was being passed down to me by way of the promised time slot being once again bumped. Still, I tried to adjust, again, but 30 minutes later and after being made to feel once again that I was not actually a priority (maybe because this was not another paid job), I cancelled. I just wasn't in the mood to have my day thrown off again. I came to the realization I not my time was not valued and there was no residual value to the $1,800.00 I had already spent, (this was definitely not the way I was handled before those jobs). Customer service and retention is everything and this fell short, I was so prepared to recommend and refer them until all this took place. I just don't feel valued as a paid/paying customer and certainly don't want to feel culpable if someone I know experiences the same as a result of my referral.

Cordell and the other companies contacted me through the Yelp app. Lightning Movers ended up being the winning team with their competitive pricing and flexible schedule! Cordell has excellent communication skills with keeping updated on times and scheduling. We had a couple of scheduling conflicts but Cordell made sure to keep me informed about everything that would affect my move. He even went above and beyond by going to the Troy location and FaceTimed me to make sure that he grabbed everything that I needed without me having to drive all the way to the site! He had an additional helper (forgive me because his name escapes me currently) and they both were so respectful , friendly and courteous! The owner called repeatedly yelling, cursing and calling me a 'fat bitch' because we expressed that our review would state that the movers quit mid-job. We contracted for a large move. They didn't move everything, their truck was too small, and they quit in the middle of the move. We paid for 3 movers only 2 worked, while the owner mostly whined and complained it was too hot. The owner was verbally abusive about my son in law not helping them when we hired their company to do the move. My son in law was there to put stuff together because we already hired movers. The owner didn't want to work in the heat. We offered to give a few hours off but he wanted to return the next day which was not what we agreed to when we hired them. They did not unload my refrigerator, deep freezer, washer, dryer and beds. In addition to a full half of truck, in violation of our written agreement. We had to call another moving company, after these movers walked away with the job half finished, and pay them to finish the job. I've had to notify police of the company owners threat and plan to notify the BBB as well. Do not use this absolutely atrocious company.
