I did get married and did have a kid and did move to Irvine and this park made me realize that my college days and single days were bubbled in. I never really got to meet the heart and soul of Irvine - her families. It was at this park that I had first contact with them - and you know what I learned? There are alot of effing a--holes in Irvine. A--hole brats who would threaten somebody a quarter of their age and size with sticks or rocks or acorns, or who would grab at a little girl's toys while keeping theirs far from her, or who would not let a little girl walk across a bridge or go down a slide. Yeah, kids can be cruel and mean and they should learn to fend for themselves, but an 18 month vs. 5 and 6 year olds? Jesus! Responsible parents don't let their kids grow up to be a--holes. I was at a park in Diamond Bar just yesterday. One little boy refused to let an even smaller little girl go down a slide. His mother was on him in an instant - her hand pinching his ear and her face right up in his. She made sure he knew that some behavior was unacceptable. He cried for the next 15 minutes. She also apologized to the little girl's dad. *That* was parenting. Irvine parenting - especially at Plaza Park - is shit. Parents hardly looked up at their kids and if they did, they didn't do a damn thing. Irvine households make 50% more than Diamond Bar ones. You'd think they could afford to be better parents. But no - A--hole-ism runs down the family like diarrhea. Of all the parents I had the displeasure of running across, the worst were the minorities - especially the Korean and Middle Eastern mothers. Their cultures venerate their boys so much, they don't lift a finger to discipline them. Since I'm a minority, it wasn't just annoying, it was effing embarrassing. Santa Ynez Park is not too far away. It was just outside of my apartment community. It's smaller, but almost everyone I ran into was so friendly. I met many very cool moms and dads - most of them new immigrants. When I moved my family away, some of them were genuinely sad to see us leave. They gave us gifts. I really loved that park and the people who went there. The worst I could say about it is that there were some older kids who simply didn't play with my daughter. But they were five times her age. I can't blame them for being uninterested. There really was only one difference between the people who went to these parks: land ownership. The a--holes were landowners, the nice ones were renters. What is it about Irvine landownership that makes people such douches? Whatever it is, I want no part of it. I'm not sorry to have moved away.

I came on a Sunday afternoon and there were a few parking spots left. There is a big grass area, sizable playground, and some picnic tables scattered around. From this park, you can actually take a paved trail called Greenwood Gulsh across the street (look it up on Google Maps), which then takes you to another park called Ron Foell Park. Nice little loop between the two parks. Dog friendly park as well. Quiet and safe.

So great park but enter at your own risk! I'm not usually a fan of paid parking parks either. But when there's a group you are going with, what can you do. SYOY!

I see the beauty of nature and city, serene and lovely, for $5 to park and zero dollars to walk, breathe, and admire the natural and person-made park. According to the squirrel I met here, the food here is amazing, but nothing for us human beings. The parking lot was so clean and spacious on this lovely Sunday. The bathrooms were clean and comfortable; they even had a trash can outside. They have enough ventilation, so even if someone farts hard, it may not be so bad. I saw some lovely dogs, families, people jogging and walking, and some cool airplanes and boats controlled remotely by people chilling and enjoying Sunday morning. For me, this is also a great place to burn off complex carbohydrates from breakfast.

And it seems to literally stretch forever. The trail is mostly pavement, with little sections of dirt trail. I used to train for a marathon out here, and I never reached the end of the trail. Mostly turned around out of fear of getting lost (and sometimes I did end up getting lost lol). But whether you are walking, biking, jogging or training for a run, this trail is the perfect trail for it all. Parking is easy, I park at the Cypress City Park. There is a bathroom right before you enter the trail, and I remember seeing another one along the trail. It is never too crowded, a perfect place to get lost in your thoughts and get some cardio in.

However, the soccer field was well-maintained. But again not suitable for games or tournaments in that the parking was terrible and there is no nearby street parking. The parking was very limited and there was a line just to enter the park because people were waiting to see if someone was leaving. I couldn't even find a Handicapped parking because they were all occupied. I believe there were only 3-4 handicapped parking spots. We had to park next door at the local high school. Very difficult to do if you have ADA concerns.

But there was no specific way to enter or even a specific loop. Just got to walk around a beautiful lake, then turned around because I had no idea where I was going. This is a great wildlife refuge to visit, especially if you're looking for easy, flat walking…read moretrails. The Audubon Society is located right there, and it's worth stopping in for information. They have a small gift shop, clean restrooms, and I even saw people borrowing binoculars, so that's another option if you don't have your own. There are a few shady parking spots, which were especially nice on a very hot day, and there's also an overflow parking lot, so finding a space shouldn't be a problem. The first three large ponds are a particularly good area for birding. You can continue farther back on the trails, although there's less water and I found it a little harder to spot birds. If you're mainly looking to get some exercise and enjoy a walk, though, there are plenty of trails to explore. Overall, the refuge is kept in really good condition, and I enjoyed my visit. My only complaint is something that's unavoidable: it's close to the airport. You can hear planes flying overhead, and occasionally you can even smell aircraft fumes. That's really the only drawback I noticed.

The pool was pretty big and there were either classes or some team training session happening. It's not super big but it still has most of what you'd need in a park.

This review will focus on the outdoor pool (salt water)…read more Junior Olympic sized pool with lane dividers, 6 lanes total, 1 jacuzzi, restrooms with showers. Pool is decently maintained; though access requires an IAC association security key obtainable via IAC management. Water quality is decent, though you'll see the occasional twig or leaf from nearby trees. Pool lights are on timer if swimming late. Pool is heated year-round to 72°F from what I was told by IAC. Each restroom is fully enclosed, ventilation is lacking so the restrooms do not air-out very well. Showers take a while to run hot water, but have good water pressure. There are water fountains if thirsty. I've never used the jacuzzi, so cannot comment on it. I don't see it used often. Overall impression of lap swimming in this pool over the past 3 months is that there are times when some kids use the pool who have not been briefed on pool etiquette, particularly for a pool commonly designated for lap swimming. Kids generally hang onto the lane dividers, crawl over them, and sometimes pull on them. I was lap swimming once and the tugging on the lane divider from one child caused the lane divider to disconnect from the wall and became loose in the pool. I had to stop swimming because the lane divider blocked me from swimming further until it was fixed. Some children swim across the lanes while lap swimmers are already occupying the lane to see if they can cross before the lap swimmer gets to them. Generally, once told to cease these activities and the children stay in the free swim lane (lane closest to the jacuzzi) then the problems stop. Just keep these in mind when it occurs because it happens once in a while, though not often. Parents could take their children to the other pool across the intersection at San Paulo Park that is designated entirely for free swim. If restricted to a single lane, there isn't a lot of space to move so it makes sense for children to really enjoy spending time frolicking through the water at the other pool across the intersection since there is a great deal more free swim open space not divided up by lane dividers. 2 full sized tennis courts, 1 full size basketball court, and 1 playground. Private parking lot available as well as bicycle parking locking stations.
